View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get an HP laptop running Win7 to see a desktop running WinXP on my network (both wired and wireless) When I run the troubleshooter in Win7, it tells me "system clock does not match local time" as the reason. I have a Belkin wireless router attached to my cable router. I have updated the system clock via the internet on the desktop and checked the time setting in BIOS. These seem to match. I have googled around on this and can't find any accounts similar. My son's Vista laptop and the Win7 laptop have seen each other since day one. The laptop and desktop did see each other at one time, but the connection was lost after I went to a hotel and changed public network settings temporarily. I can ping the desktop from the laptop, but it times out when pinging the laptop from the desktop. I'm running an avast firewall on both, but can't see a problem there.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a situation where i am installing SGE2000Ps to replace my old switches and configuring VLANS. The time clock will not communicate across the VLANS. If I unplug the network cable and plug it back in I will get two successful pings. If i use a PC configured with the same network settings as the time clock and plug it into the port for the time clock it communicates fine.

how to test or simulate for ICMP time-exceeded? is this TTL related and is there a DOS command or any way to produce ping packet with a less TTL count that would hit the ACL log? below is the config.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a 2811 that I'm in the process of turning-up to support a 4xT1 using VWIC-2MFT-T1's. The question is how to "correctly" set clocking on the MFT's.
As is typical of the 2MFT's, as soon as a 2nd T-1 on a VWIC-2MFT comes up, I start taking "Slip Sec"s on the 2nd T-1. I have tried different clock source combinations, including "clock source line primary", various "network-clock-participate" (or not) combinations, and about a dozen other stab-in-the-dark configurations. Before I started playing with it, the slips were consistently every 9 seconds. After playing with it, I got them to every 18 seconds. But there shouldn't be ANY. So the question is what SHOULD the correct timing configuration be on that platform?
The VWIC-2MFT-T1's are in slots 1 and 3, so the controllers involved are 0/1/0, 0/1/1, 0/3/0 and 0/3/1.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI understand that most of the cisco switches does not have a battery-supported system clock. The better solution is to setup the NTP server and let the rest of the switches to synchnorise the clock with it. How about cisco switch 4948? Does it have a battery-supported system clock? If the cisco switch 4948 is the NTP master, how I am going to make sure that the clock will not be reset after reload?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 6500 VSS Core Switch configured as NTP Server .I have installed ACS 5.2 vmware and sucessfuly integrated with the AD . I have noticed in some case, i lose connectivity between ACS and AD and when i say test connection , it shows clock skew error . Reboot of ACS sometimes solves the issue, else it comes up automatically after some hours . In core switch , i have configured time as PST +4 and in ACS it is configured as PST +4 , which automatically goes to GST.

Fresh install of Windows (as of two weeks ago)
Windows XP SP3 - all updates are current
Dell Latitude D610
Dell Wireless 1470 Dual Band WLAN Mini-PCI Card
Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller (wired cat5 disabled)
1GB ram
all drivers up to date
Like I said...everything is working as it should..Its done this since I've done the fresh install of Windows, so it has nothing to do with any software I've installed or any of the updates.
I have one 4506E switch working in Lan setup as a core switch with WS-X45-SUP6L-E running ipbase IOS 12.2(54)SG1. Each time after reload the switch we found that the clock is getting reset ( time is getting changed ) where as day, date & year is unchanged.

The problem was that HWIC-4ESW no longer pass traffic although showing that the interfaces are up rebooting the router solved the problem. What IOS is more stable and not subject to this problem?
i wanted to know the reason of why my ping drops or how to make it more stable. For example i play a game called League Of Legions, which i think my connection and pc exceeds the system requirements. (Except my Video card since im using a standard which was with the MOBO.)
When im playing this game, i have a ping of 50-80, suddenly it drops to 300-500, which causes me lag (Happens multiple times in a 45min game or any). I think thats not normal, since other players dont suffer from that.

my prepaid broadband connection always drops to 0 every after 30s - 1min. It increases its speed only if I load a page or download, after finish loading, speed drops again to 0.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having some difficulties to have a stable connection on a Cisco 881. I have a IP Sla running with an ICMP-ECHO towards the uplink router. Linked with this is a tracking on the IP SLA so I can shutdown an HRSP instance with the tracking. The desired result is with this that when the nexthop becomes unavailable HSRP switches to the second router with the backup connection.
Regardless whatever timeout or threshold, the tracking switches at a random point when the line is somewhat congested. Debugging it shows me only a time-out on the IP SLA.
Is there anything possible to get the icmp-echo to retry it 2-3 times or so before going it's status is set to failure? [code]

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a RV082 in the corporate office, and several remote people connecting to it using QuickVPN through a variety of clients (XP and Windows 7). As of today, they are all now seeing the "Remote Gateway is not responding - disconnect or wait" message. Checking through the logs on some of the remote clients, I see the "Failed to ping the remote router" message several times, followed by the "Ping was blocked, which can be caused by an unexpected disconnect." message.
The odd thing is that everyone has been running very well over the past 2-3 weeks - most people with 8+ hours of solid connectivity. We made no changes to the clients, nor to the remote router in the corporate office.
I am trying to use some WAP4410N in client mode, not much luck.In one case they shouldt connect to different unsecured networks controlled by a Cisco 5508 controller.I can get connection to one of the SSID's but not very stable. One ssid can be seen if i switch from ap-mode to client and run a sitesurvey. If i after that run a site survey again the ssid is not shown.Cant get connected. A third ssid acts "normal" but the 4410 never connects.I have a forth case, WPA2 Personal, cant connect.Been trying fw 2.0.3.3 still no succesAre client mode not usefull at all ?

View 5 Replies View RelatedAbout two weeks ago, my internet connection became faster. I am not sure if it has to do with my cable ISP doing something or something I did with my computer.
Right around the same time, my connection began disconnecting every two or three days. Before this, I had a rock solid connection for two years.
It will usually reconnect after a minute. Otherwise, when I boot my computer, the problem is solved.
I am certain there is a correlation between the connection speed going up and my connection becoming less stable.
I bought a DIR-655 today so i can port trigger to all my xbox's instead of only being able to port forward to 1 xbox from my Netgear CGD24N. My problem is setting up a stable network that wont drop out.
What i am trying to set up: Internet --> Modem (Netgear CGD24N) <---> Router <---> Everything else (2 Xbox's, 5 Computers, Phone's)
I have one ethernet cord from my netgear to the internet port in my D-Link. Is that correct?
They are both set to DHCP as that is the only way i have been able to create a network that i can connect to the net through my router. Problem is it is constantly reconnecting and only getting speeds of 2mb dl and 1mb up. (I should be getting speeds of 30mb dl, 2mb up.)
I've had the DIR-655 for a few months now, along with a Motorola Surfboard sb6121 DOCSIS 3.0.Modem works fine, the router was working perfectly fine until recently last week.
I have a desktop hardwired and a wireless network going on that I use just for my mobile phone and tablet at times. At first I was having disconnection problems with my wireless, then noticed a neighbor installed a similar router in the area according to my wifi analyzer, so I changed the channels and my wireless started working great. During this process I also did a firmware update and since then I've been receiving some really poor browsing problems, sometimes I'll visit websites like Facebook, or a news website, and it'll say something about the DNS not working, (at this point I'll ping the website and it still pings fine without any loss) so I'll visit the website about 10 minutes later and it works great. I've done extensive research on forums/Google and found it must link up to the new firmware update and something about a DNS relay? My version is: Hardware Version: B1 Firmware Version: 2.10NA
In other words, is there a way I can fix this issue from disconnecting without having to downgrade back to the old firmware? Or is this a common issue they'll continue to happen? If I do downgrade, HOW do I downgrade back to the stable version?
upgrade experience with the 6509E on what IOS version to use. This is a new install, so I want the most current version that supports SSH and works with dual supervisors.
Here is some information:
WS-C5609-E with 983008K/65536K bytes of memory
Current version 12.2(18)SXF17b
Slot 5 Supervisor 720 (Active)
Slot 6 Supervisor 720 (Hot)
Just need a strong base code, no advanced services. Let me know if you any additional information.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased the WRT-120N router for my home network. The wireless is set to mixed mode, with WPA Personal encryption, with key renewal set at the default 3600 seconds. My problem is that the connection is not stable. I can be connected with one computer, then, as soon as another computer joins the network, I get kicked off. This happens with all of my 5 computers. In addition to this, several of my computers will not automatically connect to my network after the computer is restarted. When I try to reconect manually, it says the network is unavailable. The only way I can get back on is if I go into "Control PanelManage Wireless Networks" and delete the setting for my network, then connect again through the "Connect to a network" window.4 of my computers are running Windows Vista with a minimum of Service Pack 1. The Other is running XP with Service Pack 2.
