View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there is a way to monitor the total bandwidth available at any given time? My ISP claims and is charging me for a certain amount of bandwidth but I suspect that during the day I am getting much less.
I would like to track available bandwidth continuously (or every 5, 10, 15 minutes) and log that data so I can show them the results. I'm on a Mac 10.7 but can use Windows XP also.
I'm working with two Catalyst 2960 switches and I would like to know if there is a way to monitor bandwidth on individual ports. Ideally I would like to have one graph showing a bandwidth usage reading on each port. I tried using the Network Assistant to accomplish this, but I was only able to view one port at a time. I also tried using a traffic graphing program from Paessler, but a MIB file is needed to allow the program to connect to the switch. When I ran a search on the network management page the 2960 was not on the list for MIB supported products. Is this type of graph possible to do?

Anyhow, just in case it doesn't support NetFlow, how to be able to set up something that would be able to check the bandwidth usage on each port?
I've got a problem where I think the SGE2000 switch is failing when I pump around 190~200Mbps through x2 of the ports (Server A on port 1=130Mbps and Server B on port 2=60Mbps) of Multicast traffic (UDP). I can measure the output from the Streaming servers that provide the multicast content, thats how I know the input to the switch and I know that there are no packets lost or any errors departing from the servers, yet when I increase server B to say 80Mbps, I get break up and all sorts of problems on the client end STBs and it is happening on the multicast content provided by Server A too which is a different source, so I'm 99.9% sure its a SGE2000 switch problem which is why I'd like to monitor it somehow.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a ea4500 router with 3 pc's, 4 iphones, 2 playstations, ipad, ps vita, house cat, and a printer all wired into the internet. There are four of us in the family all using the internet but I suspect one of us is using considerably more than the other. I live in the country and my current isp has us on the max available account - 50 gigs / month. Lately we have been hitting 45 in less than 3 weeks into the month. I would like to know which of the things connected or which person is using the most of the bandwidth up. Is there a program that doesn't require a phd in quantum physics and networking that can monitor this for me and spit out a report.

I could disable the channel monitor on the relevant device and only monitor the Circuit as this is the main device to monitor.I can not find the same option in 4.2.2
View 2 Replies View RelatedLMS is not reporting on all of my interfaces, utilization in particular. As an example, I have 1 location that is connected via DMVPN tunnels, when I run a utilization report, it only comes back with information for 1 interface, a random interface, port FA 1/7 on the switch module. If it was all of the switchports it might make more sense.
In DFM device detail the interfaces are being managed.
In the Link Utilization Poller, only 1 interface is listed (FA 1/7).
Where will I be able to download the drivers for this router? Dell doesn't seem to support this router anymore!

For example if i have 5 Mbps Mpls port at spoke I want to dedicate only 1 Mbps for internet browsing traffic remaining should be dedicated for accessing the application at hub.How can we acheive this? Can it be done by using PBR and rate limiting?
We have a new 100MB internet service, but we only pay for 10MB and above that is a per/MB fee and not cheap. I want to limit all traffic inbound and outbound only to use up to 10MB on the outside interface of our Cisco 3825.

I am running qos on that interface saying 192.168.200.0/24 can use 80% of the bandwidth and 192.168.201.0/24 can use 20% of the bandwidth. I Also have vtun VPN inteface to our branch office. I also wan to run some qos on that interface. How do i go about allocating the bandwidth on this interface? it is actually going via the eth0 interface, but the system actually see's it a an independent interface on its own right, so it requires it's own qos policy.

It is a gig port and I have it setup for monitoring (spanning) and I see packets being dropped in the "Total Output Drops" area. To me it looks like it must be exceeding the 1gig limit but I don't know a way to check to make sure. I also have the queueing strategy set to FIFO.

The ISP limits bandwidth to 60Mb so I need to make sure when I reach the limit of the 60Mb the router starts using the BW percentages defined in the policy-map using classes. any kind of traffic go out as it wants but as soon as the 60Mb limit is reached, the priorities defined by the traffic classes will kick in just as if the interface ran out of queues (as CBWFQ usually works).
View 7 Replies View RelatedThe other day 3rd party supplier ran some stats on our Gigabit link between 2 Cisco catalyst 3750Gs.now the graphs produced showed only a Maximum output of about 100Mbps ( 5 minute intervals) yet when I do a show interface it shows a lot more always 150Mbps and more. So I did my own Perl script doing an "sh interface" every minute and then graphed it, and the results were a lot different to the MRTG results.Questions: I know MRTG uses SNMP to get the traffic is there a bug in the SNMP, what OID does it use?does the "sh interface" give the correct results?

Licenses are activated on a total of 31 devices (nexus 5000 and 3000 series), data is being monitored, graphics are drawn. However under the Web user interface of DCNM, under Health, Virtual Port Channels (vPC) no data is shown. Performance, vPC is also empty. No vPC errors/notifications are displayed. The installed advanced-eval licenses should support all the bells and whistles (including vPC), but still- no monitoring is done about vPC-s. vPC-s are up and active. network is discovered and monitored via snmp v2c only. could this be limiting vPC discovery- needing snmpv3/ssh access?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco ASA 5505 and I have my internal and external interfaces configured but I currently cannot ping from the inside to an IP Address on the outside. I had this setup and working and I have another set of equirement that I am replacing that is working with my service provider so I know it is a configuration issue. When I ping 4.2.2.2 for example I get:

Do I need to add a static route from my inside interface to my outside interfaces?

Does any know why the ASA will monitor physical interfaces by default, but monitoring of logical interfaces is disabled by default? Or better yet, is anybody doing a monitor-interface for a subint without issue? I'd imagine it isn't enabled by default for a reason.

I have read some documentation (on ASR1000) regarding monitoring NAT process on Cisco ASR1000 that can be done using netflow version 9 (the term was called netflow event logging a.k.a NEL). The problem is, I have not found the netflow collector that can do that. I have queried several software such as manage engine "Netflow Analyzer" and Lancope, but they said their software can not do that.
