On the ATM0 interface on a 877 do you have to configure the bandwidth or will the router automatically negotiate this ? Also is the bandwidth command in relation to the upstream or downstream bandwidth?. We currently specify bandwidth 448 which matches the upstream.

So far the tests run(SDM interface test) and pass on atm0(WAN connection to the internet) but not on ethernet0. I am guessing i need to link them somehow but since I don't know the terminology searching for how to do it is turning out to be difficult.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a requirement where 3 Branch locations of an organization is connected to their hub location via MPLS.They have an internet connection only at HUB as shown in the diagram (Attached)Now all spoke locations should access internet via hub.At spoke locations is there a way that I can have Cisco 2900 router and dedicate only 30% of the WAN bandwidth for internet browsing traffic.Remaining 70% should be used for accessing applications at hub.
For example if i have 5 Mbps Mpls port at spoke I want to dedicate only 1 Mbps for internet browsing traffic remaining should be dedicated for accessing the application at hub.How can we acheive this? Can it be done by using PBR and rate limiting?
We have a new 100MB internet service, but we only pay for 10MB and above that is a per/MB fee and not cheap. I want to limit all traffic inbound and outbound only to use up to 10MB on the outside interface of our Cisco 3825.

I am running qos on that interface saying 192.168.200.0/24 can use 80% of the bandwidth and 192.168.201.0/24 can use 20% of the bandwidth. I Also have vtun VPN inteface to our branch office. I also wan to run some qos on that interface. How do i go about allocating the bandwidth on this interface? it is actually going via the eth0 interface, but the system actually see's it a an independent interface on its own right, so it requires it's own qos policy.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a cisco 870 router which I'm trying to connect to my ISP all the interfaces are in a up, up state. But I'm unable to ping any IP address on the internet. When I do a debug ppp I can see that the username and password are correct with the dialer 1 interface as there is no errors and I can see success. But when I shutdown the atm0 interface and then do a no shutdown I see a message called authentication failed.How does the atm0 interface work with the dialer,Also I spoke to the ISP and they can't see any connection being made but the debug shows success. I also get a default gateway via the ISP but it is the incorrect default gateway as I can't ping the internet and the ISP confirms that the default gateway is incorrect.

It is a gig port and I have it setup for monitoring (spanning) and I see packets being dropped in the "Total Output Drops" area. To me it looks like it must be exceeding the 1gig limit but I don't know a way to check to make sure. I also have the queueing strategy set to FIFO.

The ISP limits bandwidth to 60Mb so I need to make sure when I reach the limit of the 60Mb the router starts using the BW percentages defined in the policy-map using classes. any kind of traffic go out as it wants but as soon as the 60Mb limit is reached, the priorities defined by the traffic classes will kick in just as if the interface ran out of queues (as CBWFQ usually works).
View 7 Replies View RelatedThe other day 3rd party supplier ran some stats on our Gigabit link between 2 Cisco catalyst 3750Gs.now the graphs produced showed only a Maximum output of about 100Mbps ( 5 minute intervals) yet when I do a show interface it shows a lot more always 150Mbps and more. So I did my own Perl script doing an "sh interface" every minute and then graphed it, and the results were a lot different to the MRTG results.Questions: I know MRTG uses SNMP to get the traffic is there a bug in the SNMP, what OID does it use?does the "sh interface" give the correct results?

1- Is it possible to assign 1.5 Mbits of Bandwidth(BW) to this tunnel?. Then if Tunnel number 2 is configured I could assign 2 Mbits to that one for example?
I am not referring to prioritizing certain type of traffic over the IPsec tunnel, I am referring to Tunnel 1 has 1.5 Mbits of BW guaranteed for all traffic that goes thru it. Same for tunnel 2

View 3 Replies View RelatedI currently have an ASA5510 with 2 interfaces (outside and Inside) running remote VPN for clients and L2L VPN for a couple of sites. I have traffic entering the inside interface, matching interesting traffic, being wrapped up in IKE / IPSEC and sent out via the outside interface. All straightforward so far.Now I have a new VPN which is required to go over another interface and not the outside. The traffic comes in to the inside interface as normal and should be matched via ACL, encrypted and sent out th e new interface however the traffic is simply sent out of the outside interface and doesn't get any IKE headers. If I reconfigure the interface to be be the outside it does at least match the ACL, wrap it up nicely in IKE and try to get to get to the remote peer.My questions are why does this behaviour occur and why isnt the traffic marked interesting and sent out the new interface.I don't have any issues creating a new VPN if I want it to go external, I just add the required information to the outside_map but i need the traffic to be encrypted and sent over another interface. I not a huge fan of the GUI for this but I've tried both CLI and GUI with the same results.

I can't find in the Cisco Nexus guides how to do something similar; everything points to the mgmt0 physical interface, which seems like I need to uplink it to an access port on another switch. Can somebody point me in the right direction for how to do give the Nexus an IP that I can ssh/snmp into it across a trunk for management? I must just be missing the keyword.. NX-OS is still quite a different beast.I see in the manual it says: "SSH has the following prerequisites: You have configured IP on a Layer 3 interface, out-of-band on the mgmt 0 interface or inband on an Ethernet interface." -Show ip Interface Brief

The users should not be authorized to execute any other commands than above listed one .After the configuration i was not able to restrict the config mode commands . Once the user is authoized for Configure terminal access he will have full access on the device. How to configure the command set only to allow interface access and he should be able to apply Shutdown and No shutdown command .

I did try to upload the new software 8.4.2 from rommon using TFTP. ,It boots 8.4.2 fine, but have same problem as in 8.0.4.,I did try to create a user haveing priv 15 and logging on as that user. It gives the same.,The firewall is not in transparent mode.
We already have a subnet defined to inside interface and is in produciton. the default gateway is this interface ip. In that setup now I have to add one more subnet and as the first subnet is been defined in ASA indside interface, I have to assign secondary Ip to the inside interface so that new subnet users can easily reach here and go outside.

I have a remote access VPN using AnyConnect client and LDAP authentication for Active Directory. We are changing ISP (groan!), which means all new public IP addresses. The new circuit is installed, so I have a second public interface (same security level as the first public interface, wholly different IP address range) enabled on the ASA. I hope to transition whatever I can, which means get the VPN access through either public interface. Can I just enable client access on the second public interface at the Anyconnect Connection Profiles tab in ASDM? That seems too simple. Can they share the one address pool?

"Each interface is mapped to at least one primary port, and some interfaces (management and dynamic) can be mapped to an optional secondary (or backup) port. If the primary port for an interface fails, the interface automatically moves to the backup port. In addition, multiple interfaces can be mapped to a single controller port."
But nowhere can I find where it says how exactly to do it. Google seaches have come up empty as well. I am connecting the WLC to a 3750 stack, and would like to have a secondary port from the WLC connected to the second node of the 3750 stack. So far I have connected port 1 (management) of the WLC to a port on node 1 of the stack which is configured as a trunk and everything is workign fine. I have also connected port 2 from the WLC to a port on node 2 in the stack that is configured the same as the port on node one. how to tell the WLC to use port 2 as the management backup if needed.
