Cisco WAN :: 2 ADSL Interfaces In 2811 Router?

May 26, 2013

I have a Cisco 2811 router with 2 ADSL interfaces and we have 2 internet lines associated with it. One is with Telstra and one is with iiNet. All internet traffic from inside the office is routed through Telstra line. The iiNet line is used for incoming emails, establishing VPN etc. The problem is that we are not able to "PING" the iiNet's IP address from the outside world however, PING works for Telstra IP. What do I need to configure on the router if I want to PING and Putty in the router using both Telstra's and iiNet's IP from outside world?

Cisco WAN :: 2811 Using Sub-interfaces And PPPOE On ADSL

Apr 26, 2013

I am trying to get my Cisco 2811 to authenticate four DSL connections and load balance them by attaching the four DSL to a switch (each DSL going to a seperate VLAN) and then trunking all four VLAN's to a ethernet interface on the 2811.  My issue, I can not get more than one DSL to authenticate at a time, for example Dialer1 will connect and then it will disconnect and Dialer2 will connect, etc...  I have the modems in bridge mode and I am using seperate user/pass for each DSL account and I have verified that the user/pass are correct.

Below is my config from the router and a couple of messages that came across the console.

*Apr 27 01:12:11.915: %DIALER-6-UNBIND: Interface Vi2 unbound from profile Di1
*Apr 27 01:12:11.927: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface Virtual-Access2, changed state to down

Cisco Switching/Routing :: Bandwidth Limit On 2811 Router Fastethernet Interfaces?

Mar 23, 2013

I have a task of setting up bandwidth limit on the 2811 router Fastethernet interfaces. The scenario is:We have a 4MB Internet connection and would like to allocate bandwidth usage to users.

Fastethernet 0/0 needs to be set with 256KB output and 2048 input. This is going to be connected to a wireless router. Fastethernet 0/1 needs to be configured with 2048 output.I could also use SDM if that's easier than using CLI.

Cisco WAN :: 2811 - NM 2FE-2W Card And Fast Ethernet Interfaces

May 18, 2011

I had a question regarding the Cisco 2811. I tried fitting an NM 2FE-2W card and the fast Ethernet interfaces of the module never get recognized. Is there a special command to enable it or isn't the module supported at all by the router. If not , is there a way to have the router possess more than the 2 Fast Ethernet interfaces it already has? Let me know if any more info is needed from my end.

Another question I have out of curiosity. Is it possible to make the controller T1 port of a VWIC 1MFT-T1 or a VWIC 2MFT-T1 act as a fast Ethernet.

Cisco :: 7606 / 2811 - SNMP And Netflow Difference Displaying Different Data For Same Interfaces

Nov 29, 2012

I've got an issue with SNMP and netflow tools. They are displaying different data for the same (sub)interfaces.I've got metroethernet link which connects root A (Cisco 7606, 12.2(18)SXF8) and root B (Cisco 2811, 12.3(11)TS). MPLS is configured on the link (behind root B there is no more MPLS). I'm attaching root configurations (I've ommited parts of config).Interfaces are:

Root A - gi2/6.2144
Root B - fa0/1

I've configured SNMP and netflow on both devices. I'm using two SNMP tools (CA Spectrum and eHealth) and two netflow tools (CA NetQoS Reporter Analyzer and Fluke Networks NetFlow Tracker) to collect the data. SNMP tools show the same info for defined (sub)interface.Netflow tools also show the same info for defined (sub)interface. I'm attaching reports from one SNMP tool and one netflow tool for the same time period.

1. Looking at SNMP tool, it can be seen quite amount of that data in both in and out direction.
2. Looking at netflow tool, it can be seen quite amount of that data in out direction, while in direction shows small amount of data.

I'm aware that Cisco has difficulties with SNMP counters on subinterfaces. I'm also aware that MPLS netflow has its own difficulties.Root B netflow configuration is quite simple as it has just 2 interfaces to configure netflow on (Fa0/0 and Fa0/1). So I would guess SNMP and netflow data should match, but they don't. When you look at SNMP tool reports for roots A and B, it can be seen that traffic volume is practically mirrored.

Cisco WAN :: 1801 Router Setting Up With Two WAN Interfaces

Oct 19, 2011

I'm trying to set up an 1801 router with two WAN interfaces, fastethernet0 and fastethernet1. On the LAN side, I have two subnets. One subnet's internet traffic should be routed over fastethernet0, the other over fastethernet1.I've setup some route maps to accomplish this. I can surf the internet using subnet 192.168.2.0/24 fine, all traffic goes out of fastethernet0. However, and this is where the problem is, if I try to reach the internet using subnet 192.168.3.0/24, all packets go out interface fastethernet0 with the source address of fastethernet1!When I'm surfing the internet, from subnet 192.168.3.0/24, packets should be going out fastethernet1, now they're going out fastethernet0.

Cisco WAN :: Configuring Interfaces On 2951 Router?

Dec 27, 2011

configuring my Cisco 2951 router. There are three routed interfaces that I need to configure: one for the internal LAN, the second for another private subnet that connects to a Data Centre and the third for the WAN connection. I have configured the Ge0/0 interface as the LAN interface with the internal network 10.17.0.0/24. I have also configured my WAN interface Ge0/1 for internet connectivity. Now, I need to configure the third interface Ge0/2 that will connect to the Data Centre. This will be a private point to point switched ethernet link. The Data Centre will host a secondary domain controlller. So, I want it to be on the same network as the internal LAN, i.e., 10.17.0.0/24. I want to be able to see all other devices that will be located at the Data Centre just like I would see all devices connected to the internal LAN.The problem I am facing is that Cisco 2951 does not allow me to configure two routed interfaces to be on the same subnet. Is there any way to work around this problem and configure both the internal LAN and the Data Centre private network to be on the same subnet.

We currently installed a 100Mbps fiber line with Ethernet hand-off.  I  purchased a Cisco 3925 ISR to be the gateway for this connection.  I am  not going to use it for any security purposes.  I have an ASA5520 that  will do that work.  Right now I am currently just trying to get the  router online.

May 20, 2011

I have a Cisco 877 ADSL router which won't let me play with my VPNs like I used to in pre-Cisco days.I have a VPN server which resides on the inside of the network which used to get it's L2TP as well as PPTP tunnels passed straight through the ADSL router. No problems there with the old router. Now I opened the relevant ports for both TCP and UDP on the 877, but VPN simply won't establish when trying to connect from the outside. Process of getting the 877 to stop wanting to take charge of things VPN and just pass them off to an inside server?

I need to VPN into my work from my laptop on the private side of the 877. This works fine until after authentication, then the VPN connection goes silent, no traffic going through. Works fine when for instance using my iphone hotspot to connect through from my laptop. It's only not working when the 877 is in the equation.

I am trying to add WCCP to be configured for websense. My first option seems to be either purchase an IPServices license for the stack of 3750E switches, but i am thinking this will require us to license all three switches in the stack. The second option i am looking at is to do the WCCP configuration on the 2800 router we have on the edge. The problem is both Gig ports are in use, one going to the firewall and the second going to the ISP. My first question would be, which option is better in terms of manging as well as cost of implementing it.The second question is, if WCCP on the router is a better option, what is the add on module i should be looking to get to add the additional ports to hook up the Websense cache.
