Cisco WAN :: 3845 / 3945 - NM-16ESW-1GIG Card Configuration?

I have 3945 Router and I have bought NM-16ESW-1G1G card. After installed the card no interface shows on show ip interface brief or Show run command . When i end the switch module then i have found the interface. previously i have worked on NM-16ESW card on my 3845 router where interface card interface shows in my show run and interface command and i have assign IP and crypto map fro my Branch.
So my question is NM-16ESW-1G1G is different then NM-16ESW card ? if not then why i can not find interface. if Different then i have need to configure interfcae by enter the switch module seperately ?

what is the throughput of NM-16ESW and performance (mpps). I have 3845 router.All I've found on the datasheet: "Delivers up to 200 Mbps of bandwidth (full duplex) Layer 2; forwards and filters at full wire speed on each port".
Does it mean "200 Mbps full-duplex aggregate bandwidth availabe for all 16 i/f"? --> so the top limit of this network module.What is the throughput of a 3845 NM slot? NM-16ESW will be EOS by Nov 15, 2011. I could only find replacement for hardware except for newer IGR2 router (SM modules).

I wanted to confirm if the NM-2W is compatible with 3845 (says it is compatible) and 3945.I wanted increase WIC density in these routers to install ISDN HWIC-4B-S/T 4-port ISDN BRI High-Speed WAN Interface Card.However, i am not sure if these cards are compatible on the NM-2W. Is there any other NM* module that can extend WIC density on those routers.

We purchase a new 3945 router and a NM-1A-T3/E3 card. We would like to use the T3 funcationality so we enabled the command card type t3 1 (slot1), reboot the device.After reboot the sh ip int brief command should show the serial interfaces e.g serial1/0.In this case it doesn't, it shows the Gigi interfaces and ATM1/0 no serial interfaces.I've also tried upgrading to the latest IOS from cisco.

We have a NM-T3/E3-RF card that fits inside a 3800, but does not fit into a 3945.
The documentation says it works with 3900 ISR Routers.
Is there a cradle or adapter that is required?
Does the "RF" section of the part number differentiate this from a NM-T3/E3 card?

I've a 3945 with SM-ES3G-24-P module installed and tried to configure some routing but it doesn't work .
1. L3 interface on the switch modules (with ip address configured)
2. OPSF on the router with connected interface redistribute (which includes the switch module L3 interfaces)
I don't see any of the switch module L3 interfaces routes in the router, not even the connected interface.

I need to install a HWIC-2Fe card onto the Cisco 3845 motherboard. Do I need to power down the router for this installation?Also I had a few more queries in regards to 3845 routers.
1) DO C3845 routers support insertion and removal of Network modules while powered on?
2) Do C3845 routers support insertion and removal of Power supply (redundant one)?
3) Is it the case that all Network modules which need to be inserted onto the motherboard require the router to be powered down?
4) If there is a need to replace the Network module from a particular slot with a new one (same make), powering down the router is not required?

I have a 3845 that I am trying to configure but it won't save. It doesn't matter what i do (write mem, copy run start). No matter what, if I reload it, it wipes the config. Am I missing something, or is it just a bad memory? I don't get any errors when I save, it looks like it takes, but no dice.

I have a 50 Mbps metro ethernet connection between our main office, and our collocation site, where we store web servers, DR equipment and VPN access gateways. I have two Cisco 3845 ISR's connected to the metro E circuit. The interfaces on each router are configured as 100/full as requested by my ISP. We are connected via ethernet to a fiber media converter.
As I understand, CBFWQ will not kick in until congestion occurs on an interface. I also understand that the bandwidth command on an interface is to provide bandwidth related information to upper level protocols (like EIGRP, etc).
My question is that since the interface where I have CBWFQ configured on is at 100 Mbps, but my circuit is at 50Mbps, how can I get my routers to kick CBWFQ in when traffic demand exceeds 50Mbps+? Does the bandwidth command on the interface control that as well?

-ISP 2 with link bandwidth of 16 Mbps

i recently bought and installed a working NM-16ESW into my cisco 2610.HOWEVER:i have tried different IOS's:c2600-ik9o3s-mz.122-46a.binc2600-io3-mz.122-46a.binc2600-io3-mz.123-26.bin and unfortunately non of those IOS versions works with the NM-16ESW.Heres my SHOW DIAG command:

Recently I came across a router (Cisco 3845, IOS 12.4) configured for TACACS, one local username and an enable password. Going through the configuration I noticed the router didn't have an enable secret password which I thought was strange. For some reason I cannot seem to get a connection between the router and the switch. I see the FE ports on the siwtch, sh ver includes all 18 FE ports, but it seems that there is no backplane connection. The only way I can get conenctivity to the switch module is to jumper between one of the routers FE ports and a NM port. The switch will not accept any IP addressing on the same network as the router becasue of overlap. Am I just being stupid? My understanding was this NM would have a backplane connection to the router. Some docs mention a GE conneection that should show up and there were two parts to the config, one to set up the interconnect and then to set up the switch.

We are having two sites seperated by half a mile and we are using dedicated 100 Meg link at the moment for intranet traffic, and now we got new 1 gig link and I am working to set it up, Service Provider came on site installed two circuits on both sites and fiber connectivity is tested succesfully betweeen sites, now I need to connect the circuits to our network and make the 1 gig link active to make traffic flow between sites and as well bring 100 meg as standby.
So to brief the issue:
Connectivity at the moment SiteA: Switch1(3560)------100Meg--------.SiteB: Switch 2(3560)
I Want to configure SiteA: Switch 3(4507)------1gig (Active)--------.SiteB: Switch 4(3560) SiteA: Switch1(3560)------100Meg(Standby)--------.SiteB: Switch 2(3560)

have remote routers boot and load a config from the flash card. It seems this is possible if the Flash Class is A, according to the Cisco web site using the
boot config flash:<Config file>
where <Config file> is the file on the flash.
Although this can be applied on 2811 routers, they fail to load the file on the flash card. I've since found that this router type has a Class C flash. So the question is, can either:
Is there a similar process for other classes of Flash cards, specifically Class C?
or
The router flash be set as a Class A to support this functionality,
The preferred resolution for this would be the first as there are many remote routers installed a diverse and difficult locations to visit, should a format/rebuild of the flash fail for some reason.

I am trying to find out what the 'normal' operating temperature of the CPU in a 3945 router is? We have just replaced some 2800 routers for 3945's and the NMS server initially complained about the new router CPU temperature being too high. Compared to the 2800 the CPU temperature is much hotter - 50 degrees celcius as opposed to 20-smothing degrees. I have searched but can't find what are considered 'normal'?

We have recentrly replaced a 1700 router with Cisco 3945 router (Core Router) and the Channalised E1 interface is configured as given below: [code]
The issue happens intermittenly and makes network not reahable.Status of the links are UP/UP - No traffic forwarded through the link (Ser 0/0/0:1 and Ser 0/0/0:2) and at the same time not able to ping the local IP Address as well - 10.5.10.1/10.7.10.1.No issue on the Ser 0/0/0:0 link - Working fine.If you replace the new router with the old one all are working fine.

Etherswitch already configure and can access service module. But assigned VLAN in a port and and ping the host connected on is RTO from the router.

How to find the maximum number of PRIs supported on a given router:
Let's say I need to find maximum number of PRIs I can connect on a C3945.
I see that I could buy for example (4) VWIC3-4MFT-T1/E1. The C3945 comes with (4) EHWICs where such VWIC3-4MFT-T1/E1 cards can be inserted. Since each VWIC3 has (4) ports each, that would be total of 16 PRIs.
Then let's say I want to put more Service Modules and allow me to expand it further. The C3945 can support up to (4) service modules.
If I want to put the maximum number of PRIs possible, is it right I could install (4) NM-8CE1T1-PRI. That would give me maximum of 48 PRIs in a C3945.
