how I can get to the DHCP client table on a Cisco 891 Router ? We just upgraded our router from a WRVS4400N to the Cisco 891. THe WRVS4400N has the feature DHCP client table that I can see the Client host Name and IP address,Mac Address I have CCP and CCP express installed on my system?
View 1 RepliesDo the problem caused by the modems itself or it just sign of faulty Ethernet switch (using 20 port Allied Telesis ethernet switch).
Sometimes I cannot connect to internet due to "unidentified network" buy i can resolve this problem by restarting my modem + switch.
I just got an EA3500 and I guess I don't understand what "Refresh" does when viewing the DHCP client table under the "Status", "Local Network" tab of the web interface, either that or it's not working. If I have active wired and wireless clients and I power off the EA3500, wait a few minutes, then power it back on, the table is blank. If I hit "Refresh" I would expect it to re-populate the table with the connected clients. For whatever reason, it doesn't. I have to physically disconnect and reconnect the E-net cable, or power cycle the wireless client to get them to reappear in the table. Is something wrong with the router or its s/w
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy EA4500 will periodically clear out the DHCP Client Table and I will lose internet access.This happens once almost every day, normally in the morning. If I can't access the internet I will check the DHCP client table under Status -> Local Network -> DHCP Client Table and it is always empty.After I select Setup -> Reboot it will work again - when I look at the DHCP client table it is now populated with all my devices. I am on firmware version 2.0.37.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just purchased an E4200 router. I have four clients on my network and they are all set up for DHCP. I renewed their IPs and they all are connected. "Cisco Connect" reports that I have four clients connected. When I access the router and bring up the DHCP Client Table, there are no entries. There should be four entries. Aftern I enable the logging function, none of the logs have any data in them even after I wait for 45 minutes and use the internet and renew IPs. I am using Firmware Version: 1.0.03. I have the same results for both Chrome and Firefox. I want to be able to set Static IPs but I am hampered by the not having any clients in the DHCP client table.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMost devices pass a client name to DHCP when requesting an IP, but some like my smartphone, do not. When a device does not pass a client name garbage is entered as the name of the client name.The first is that when you use the Web Admin pages, and select Status/Local Network/DHCP Clients, the table will not display any clients because there is an error on the page. If you right click and View Source from the browser, you will see all the client entries are there and one of them will have garbage (unprintable characters) for the client name.The second and more serious issue is that the internal DHCP table once corrupt is unstable. I've had my BEFSR41 reboot because of the corruption and then I get IP conflicts on my LAN because the DHCP starts handing out in-use IPs.I'm on hardware version 4.3 and the latest firmware Ver.2.00.4 Build 8 (which is very difficult to install without bricking the router). BTW, when I use a WRT54GL router with the smartphone, it is properly handled by the DHCP and shows a blank client name, not garbage.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have DHCP enabled, but I have assigned a static IP to most of my network devices.When I click on the DHCP Client Table, most of the devices are NOT shown even though I know they are connected and working.One device (a Brother printer) that I have assigned a static IP to actually shows up as having an IP from the DHCP range. A Panasonic TV does not show up at all even though it is connected and woking. I have not been able to assign a static IP to it because it does not show up.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to firmware version 1.0.03 I started to have this weird issue: I have four PCs connected to this wireless router via wireless G. They all run Windows 7 Home Premium. After a few hours I started to notice that the DHCP client table is empty even if all four PCs are connected to the internet. This causes a networking problem because one of the PC serves as a file server and it grants access by IP addresses. Not being able to "see" those computers, my access is denied.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried to enter a name that included an illegal character (in this case, a single quote), and it gave me the popup box that said I had done so. When the popup closed, my DHCP reservation table was emptied out (I had maybe 5-6 reserved clients). In fact, I can't add new reservations anymore at all from this screen as it lists nothing in the DHCP clients table at the top. (Note, there are plenty of things in the DHCP Clients table over on the Status->Local Network tab). At this point, I think that my pre-existing reservations are still being held, but I'm not sure as it's only been about an hour so nothing has renewed.
I had firmware 1.0.05 when I encountered this problem. I upgraded to 1.0.07 as a means of trying to kick it into action, but the problem still exists.
how to storage the DHCP IP table in a external flash of a router. This is because the router is switched off and switched on everyday but I want that it remembers which MAC is associated with which IP when it starts again and avoid IP duplicate problems. The command "lease" doesn't seem useful here.

I need to reserve the ip address of the wired address but can't get at it.
My E3200 has been clearing it's DHCP table at random times. When it's been cleared the router starts handing out duplicate addresses. It's running the latest (1.0.02 build 9 Sep 1, 2011) firmware and otherwise seems to be working fine.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have 2 Media Bridges, a Trendnet TEW-640MB and TrendNet TEW-680MB. Both are set as a Static IP on the devices 192.168.1.150 and 192.168.1.151. In the DHCP table for my E4200 I don't see those. I have no problem accessing them typing in those IP addresses but wondering why they don't show up in the table.Actually looking at it more closely, the devices hooked up that are active seem to show up.So I see the following below. And where is list LAN but no name those seem to be devices connected to the media bridges.

I have enabled DHCP but want to set static table IP's for my security camera DVR and one computer, the others can remain dynamic. I know in other routers I can attach a LAN IP to a mac address to keep it static but I can't see where I can do that with this router.

View 5 Replies View RelatedOne of the many things that I liked about the e4200 over my olg 54GL was the fact that I could reboot it remotely. However, I've recently had a few problems that only a full power down would fix. In addition, I've noticed that the DCHP client table doesn't reset when I do a soft reboot. Is this intentional? Is the soft reboot not really a full reboot? Can it be made a real reboot?
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy BEFSR81 is my primary router and has DHCP turned on. The router's DHCP range is set to accommodate 12 devices. I have three computers wired to it and their Host names (as specified in the set-up of each computer) show up in the router's DHCP device table. I also have two printers (one old Brother HL5250DN laser printer and one new HP Photosmart Premier C410a inkjet printer) connected and there are blanks where the Host name should go. I would like to be able to tell which printer is which when I am looking at the DHCP device table. How can I get a names associated with each printer's IP address in the router's DHCP device table? (The real problem is that the router seems to have both printers at the same IP address (192.168.1.100) and if I can get one of them to change I'd like to know which one it was!)

I've configured ip dhcp snooping on several vlans I want to monitor and the binding table doesn't seem to be building.eature DHCP is on, global ip dhcp snooping is enabled, VLAN snooping is enabled on the vlan's I want to monitor and my trusted interfaces are also configured. Alas no binding entries in the table! 7K is running 4.2(6).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI keep getting some additional IP addresses logging onto my home network that have an address outside what should be allowed by the router. The server is running at 192.168.2.1 and is set to only allow clients from 192.168.2.2 - 192.168.2.10 so a total of 9 clients should be allowed on.The problem is that something keeps logging in with an address of 192.168.169.2 or 3 etc. Sometimes more than one device at a time.I have assumed that it is some automated or virtual client as I'm pretty certain my network has not been breached. I have a 9 character password with a relatively random alphanumeric combination, although I haven't tried changing the password (I live in a share house with with a bunch of devices using wireless, so I haven't yet bothered). What I don't understand is how it has connected with the xx.xx.169.xx range at all. I have a Belkin 'Share' Wireless N Modem Router and at some stage there was a 'guest' network but that has since been disabled and I still am seeing the extra address. I have attached a screen shot of the DHCP client list on the router.The following is a list of devices that may be on the network at times, I'm thinking one of these may be responsible for the problem:
Windows Vista Desktop - Only LAN device
PS3
Macbook
Epson wireless printer
Android HTC Desire Mobile Phone
Laptops running various Windows versions (XP, Vista and 7)
A few thoughts I had:
- the android phone is capable of running a wireless hotspot, may have to look into it to see if if has been operating as an access point into the Belkin router, but assumed this wouldn't bring up clients connected to the phone on the home router.
- The desktop has PS3 Media server installed to stream video to the PS3 over the network (not that I have ever managed to get it to work), however this is not ever open on the desktop.
I have ten E4200 routers deployed in five library branches. In recent months, the E4200's in two branches have occasionally gone into a state where they are not always providing an IP address to both wired and wireless devices. Some devices will get an IP fine and others will not, The problem seems to move and the next day the same device will connect fine and others will not. A reset of the router usually clears the problem but it is becoming more frequent and bothersome. For some reason only two locations are effected.
Some notes:
- Firmware version is 1.0.02 build 13
- When I set devices up with static IP's they work fine, so the problem seems to be related to the DHCP service
- The WAN side of the network tests fine with no issues
- I've had these routers deployed for over a year and this problem just started in the past two months
- Routers and AP's are on different channels to prevent interference
- No nearby WiFi signals appear to be casuing any interference
I have purchased E2500 and i am having following problems:
1. DHCP client list not showing - only shows when i reboot the router. After some time, the list never shows even when i press refresh button
2. I can only reserve IP when i reboot the router - after some time i cannot do this action also
I have upgraded to latest firmware and also peformed reset as directed by support.
On the BEFSR41 v1 series and WRT54G series, what is the maximum value for the DHCP "Client Lease Time (in minutes)?" It seems that 2^16 -1 (65535) minutes is the max. This is about 45 days. has the max value changed with newer versions of these devices?

I can still access my cable modem at 192.168.100.1, but I must do a "IP Address Release" then "IP Address Renew" to get back internet access. The router works fine otherwise.

I also disabled DHCP client.The problem is follows: when I go to Inventory - Device Administration - Add/Import/Manage Devices, I always get this error:Error in communicating with DCR Server. DCR Server may be down. Please start the DCR Server and then refresh the page.Reload server/ Daemon Manager dont solve this.I try to beat this problem 2 days already. About a week ago I tried to clear log files which was 270gb (syslog.log) and after that restarted the server. And all inventory devices suddenly disappear! I could find it from search menu but cant access - cisco works said that there is no such a device in Device Repository or I havent enough right to view it (but i logged as admin). And after this i failed to add any device in Inventory. So I reinstall Cisco Works and get that DCR error..
