Have a new 4500-x (Comes with IPBase enabled), but I see only universal image is available for download (Which I understand has "all" features)...assume it is safe to use the latest universal image on 4500-x and the IPBase license will be automatically applied?

I am planning to upgrade Cisco 4948 IOS upgrade. We have few with older code( 12.2(25)EWA7), when issue sh version shows as Catalyst 4000 L3 Switch Software. while newer version of the switch show as Catalyst 4500 L3 switch.
1 Is this/(sh ver output) just because of the Older code ?

Had a WNDR 3700, as I do, and replaced it with a 4500 and whether it was worth the upgrade.I can always use the 3700 as a wireless repeater in the living room, where I kind a need one anyway.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have two Windows 7 computers and neither one will successfully upgrade a 1242 AP to LWAP. However, I go to a coworker's XP machine and run the tool without issues. On Windows 7 I keep receiving the error message of ACL or Firewall is blocking. I have added rules and then even tried disabling the firewalls completely on both computers and still no success.

Is it possible to upgrade the CSACS-1121-UP-K9 to be a non upgrade part? We were going to upgrade from a Windows 4.x to the above Appliance (version 5.x) but there is now a reason to keep the old Windows version running therefore we cannot give the new Appliance the old ACS's licenses?!So we should have (with hindsight) bought a fresh version of the ACS 5.x rather than an upgrade.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 4510R+E switch that won't change to the SSO redundancy mode. After entering the 'mode SSO' command, the switch reboots the peer supervisor (as it says it will), but after it comes back up it remains in RPR mode. I've tried rebooting the peer supervisor manually, rebooting the entire chassis, manually power cycling the entire chassis, and reseating the sups, but the switch remains in RPR mode. The issue started when I swapped the switch's supervisor with the supervisor of another 4500. The same issue was observed on the other 4500 as well, but after several reboots, I got it to change to SSO mode. Prior to the swap, both switches were running in SSO mode just fine.Since we're running IOS version 15.0 with the 'spare sup' license, I suspect the issue arose because of licensing complications (with relation to the chassis serial number and the like) when I swapped the sups....although this doesn't explain why the other switch changed to SSO after some troubleshooting.

how to setup this old switch 4500. It is running CATOS and I want to make sure that when I connect it to the network it doesn't create a loop since it has to be compatible with other vendors, not just Cisco.I don't have anything connected but these are my concerns: It doesn't show my lacp-channel (i believe this is what is used to for Teaming network cards), it doesn't show my trunk ports.

How to successfully run the dot1q tunneling on Cat4500 with Sup7L-E? I tried that on IOS XE 3.3 and newest 3.4. It is in feature navigator but i am not able to connect two access switching using trunk - only native vlan is translated. Apparently STP BPDU frames are dropped somewhere. I have the same configuration on 3750X with ip services licence and this works well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an issue where my customer is only using the ASA as their firewall. When their internal users try to connect to a partner's site using a 3rd party IPSec solution it seems as if the return NAT-T traffic is being dropped. However when looking at the traffic the udp500 communication goes through, but the 4500 traffic hits the outside interface and then gets dropped.
I used the packet tracer command and the output is set to Allow. Also after initiating the vpn connection I see two udp connections (one for 500 and the other for 4500.
I cleared the asp table drop, and didnt see to see anything, I am waiting on the running config, and the customer is running ASA 8.4.
I used the capture tool on both interfaces (inside using the client ip, outside using the interface ip, both destined to the 3rd party vpn Headend). Here are the screeshots for this.
I went ahead and color coded the ip address. Green is the pre-nat inside Red is the destination for the VPN headend, and Blue is the PAT ip going out.
