Cisco WAN :: Minimum Parameters To Configure T1 Between Two 1841?
Oct 16, 2011
I configure two WIC-1DSU-T1-v2 interfaces with a T1 crossover cable. What are the mimimum configurations to do to communicate from LAN1 (int fa0/0 of one 1841 router) to LAN2 (int fa0/0 of the second 1841 router) ?
Do I need a routage protocole ? And if yes wich one ? Interne or externe (RIP or BGP) Or static route is enough ? Also, is that I should put a encapsulation, like ppp ? Is it neccessary on a point to point line ?
Finally what about the following commands, do I need it ?
Configuring Cisco 1841 router and firewall. My provider has put their equipment and given me 2 subnets with public ip address. I am used to getting just one Subnet and connecting my firewall straight to the hand off. But in this case I am a bit confused. I assume I will need to put a router and configure it with before I connect my firewall. [code] I also have a firewall that I would like to be on the subnet 2 at 200.xxx.97.130 and have my private network 192.168.xxx.xxx behind it.
I have checked and re-checked before buying and this card is evidently supported on the 1841 for 'data mode only' which is all I need. I have 3 T1s in Multilink mode and I want to use 2 of these cards (and 3 of the 4 ports) to support it. The problem is that even though SH INVENTORY finds the card, I can't issue the "card type" command to indicate I am using it with a T1 - I get this:
R3(config)#card type t1 1 0 ^ % Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
So I tried to issue the "controller T1" command and it does not recognize the slot as containing a T1 card (which makes sense since the "card" command did not work).
I found numerous references to this card being supported in Cisco docs with a minimum OS around 12.2(8) - it varies based on the chassis. I can't find the explicit OS required for the 1841 which is a concern but I am using 12.4(13r)T. SH VERSION finds "2 Channelized T1/PRI ports" which is the MFT card.
I need to get Serial interfaces configured on these cards.
As per topology attached herewith, i have 2 ISPs, ISP1 and ISP2. And i have one Cisco 1841 Router with only 2 Ethernet interfaces. My Lan subnet is 192.168.1.0.My puspose is, i want to configure both ISP1 and ISP2 and my Lan Network on router, without adding any extra interaface. I also want to configure a nat so that Lan user can go to internet. I wabt to do this using 2 Interfaces.
I try access with Serial cable blue DB09 / RJ45 on console port and serial ports on PC using putty or hyperterminal but any connection can not be done. The screen stay black and not show any text.
The computer found the port COM1 but i csn not access any information from Cisco router model 1841
Basically I have an internet router (1841ISR) with 1 internal (LAN) connection and 2 internet connections. What I want to do is route specific traffic for 3 of my internally hosted services (smtp, https, etc) through one internet connection (fa0/0) and then route all other traffic through the unmanaged/dynamic IP ADSL connection (Dialer 0).
I have a Cisco 2940 switch and a Cisco 1841 router. I want to build two different VLAN networks on the switch, which do not have to communicate one with each other, but those VLANS should communicate with the router.
I read a lot of articles, i tried to configure properly the switch and the router but i still don't get them work.
I set on the switch, the GigabitEthernet 0/1 port to Trunk port and i had to set it a native VLAN. The problem is that only from that native VLAN, i can ping the router.
I configure for our office site to site VPN project. Now I configured already Site to site vpn between ASA 5510 and 1841 router.
HQ LAN Branch LAN 10.2.1.0/24 >>> ASA 5510>>>>> 1841 >>> INTERNET <<<<<< 1841 <<<<<< 10.30.3.0/24 ^^^^ Call Manager 2851
Now can access from Branch LAN to HQ LAN each other. I face the problems that are
1) In branch LAN , they can access HQ LAN & resource , but cannot access internet. I didn't configure NAT on PH Router
2) Can I access internet from BRANCH LAN through HQ LAN to INTERNET. Or Can I access Internet from Branch LAN from PH Router directly while access to VPN to HQ LAN ?
3) In Branch Site , hard phone cannot work but soft phone on PC can call to HQ. Hard phone IP are same in Remote Network (172.16.1.0/24 ) . Is it problem ? how can I configure separately ?
I have configured SSL offloading and redirection on a 4710 appliance. Everything works fine. The issue I am facing is that some parameters in url are getting lost.
I have https://%h/%p configured as a redirect server which works fine as far as hostname and path is concerned. i.e. full hostname and path are preserved, but that there are some parameters after the full path in encrypted format which are getting lost. I think 307 redirect can resolve this issue but ACE does not support that.
I have problems with setting the snmp retry / timeout parameters for our devices. I managed to import our devices with bulk import , but after it I realized that for some devices the snmp retry / timeout values were different ( created the bulk file with 3 retries and 30 sec timeout , but in the system the appear with 2 retries and 1 sec timeout). I tried to change it manually , but after a while it goes back to the wrong values.
I have had this router for about 5 years now, I had problems setting it up from the start as I was fairly young but I eventually found a way around it - no problems since. Through memory I am sure I had this problem previously but I had the disk to give me guidelines on what to do(which I don't have any more). I have phoned up virgin (my ISP) and they said it was an issue to do with the router, to which I searched into the routers address, in this case 192.168.50.1. Scrolling down, I noticed that under the WAN section it says:
I have spent a good part of today trying soloutions to get this to work again but I just can't seem to find a way around it. As I said, the router has been working fine for pretty much 5 years now and I really do not know why the WAN went. In addition, it was set up wireless. How can I obtain the newtork parameters?
I have an AT&T Univese which is class G. I want to run it in class N.Do you think plugging my Linksys router into the AT&T will give it to me(class n)?If so, how do I get the linksys parameters set up? It giving wrong readings at its not connecting to the internet.
Following the chat with the technical support of CISCO.In few words, the LINKSYS X3000 is the only router in the world that can't shows the DSL line parameters ( SNR and LINE ATTENIATION ) so you can't evaluate the line quality without using another router.... INCREDIBLE!!!!Let's see how long it will be before the firmware update!Me: simple question: is rather embarrassing but I can't find the SNR value (Adsl status) in the Linksys X3000 interface. Same for the Line Attenuation values. These are the standard DSL information and they are essential to evaluate the DSL line quality.Unfortunately, you are right, these parameters are not available on the Gateway (X3000) Setup page.Me:It's unbelievable I use routers for my work and this is the first product that can't shows the DSL line parameters...The only parameters available under DSL Connection Subta are Status, Downstream Rate and Upstream Rate.Me:Do you think it's serious? The price of this product and the target to which it is oriented suggest a more professional approach.I agree, but as of now, this is how it is however, you need to keep an eye on future updates for the device that might include these paraters/features.Me:Please could you send a notification to the DEVELOP TEAM to quickly update this product FIRMWARE and close the gap that separates it from other products in the same category?
Just loaded the 7.2.103.0 software onto the brand new WiSM2. Going throught the options and have found that under the global parameters for 802.11a/n, 802.11b/g/n radios is now the "Maximum Allowed Clients" option. The allowed setting is from 1 - 200 clients.
Does that mean only 200 clients will be allowed to associate to the WLC on that radio at a maximum?
Doesn't seems to make sense... I have the 500 AP license on this WiSM2... I know this option used to be an optional setting under a WLAN in previous releases.
After upgrade to ACS 5.2 appliance , we are trying to configure AAA between Ciscoworks and ACS. Authentication is working but authorization fails , logged user cannot access to admin parameters. I've configured attributes manually but it doesn't work.Does ACS 5.2 support integration with CiscoWorks?
a customer has bought a new AP 3500 with external antennas and he would like use his old antenna AIR-ANT2485P-R.
We have the option to configure the antenna parameter in WLC under Wireless > Access Points > Radios > 802.11a/n or 802.11b/g/n for external antenna and and using only port A.
But if we enable only one port (Example: port A) we will get a warning message: Need to have at least both dual mode antennas (antennas A and B) enabled
Is it not possible to use an antenna like ANT2485P-N together with an Access Point like 3502E?
I just bought a DIR 615 (firmware 4.0) which I am using as an access point linked to a Netopia router. The Netopia has QoS enabled and needs to keep it, however I was hoping to use the DIR615 without QoS. I am using a ReadyNas Duo as storage for music, videos etc. Now, here are my issues which I think are all linked.
1) I have a very slow connection wireless, between 1'500 and 2'000kbits/sec download. This was not the case with my very old Linksys router
2) When I try to rip a CD from iTunes to the NAS, it brings up error messages of lost connection and impossibility to rip in the middle of the songs. I did not have that problem with the Linksys router neither.
3) I would like to change the QoS parameters to see how it affects this connection issue, as well as change other Wifi parameters, but they show up as greyed out and I can't change them. (I feel that the DIR 615 might inherit some parameters from the main router, since it is used as an Access Point).
I have a 2500 and I have successfully joined a 1600 AP to it; however I have noticed that I cannot enable CleanAir in the Global Parameters with just the 1602 AP joined. This feature was enable when I had my 2602 AP connected. So, is the problem that the 1602 doesn't fully support CleanAir? If that is the case, how do I enable CleanAir Express or is that something you can even enable thru the GUI?
I'm trying to configure my BRI interface in "network protocol-emulate network" and "layer1-emulate network" but i don't have this second command. Is someone have allready to that with this type of interface ?I've to configure this because the ISDN line of my telco is in user mode only.
I created a LAP Template in NCS to configure some new 1142 LAPs that were installed in a remote office. These LAPs need to be in Flex Connect mode with V LAN support. The template is being applied with partial success on every access point. Details of the partial success say the Flex Connect Parameters fail with the following error.
Provision Failure: { URL}.Object Not Found Exception cannot be cast to [URL]
Am I doing something wrong? The Flex Connect portion of the template has V LAN Support enabled, Native V LAN ID, and the Profile Name- V LAN Mappings configured.
Prime NCS version 1.1.1.24 Access Points are AIR-LAP1142N-A-K9s running 7.2.110.0
in LMS (4.1) installing guide, table 'Software and Hardware Requirements for Soft Appliance', it is stated Memory and CPURequirement:
• 4 GB, 2 virtual CPU (< = 500 devices)Host CPU Core clock speed: • Minimum 2.26 GHz Minimum Virtual CPU Reservations: Number of recommended virtual CPUs x 2.26 GHz: • 4520 MHz (< = 500 devices)
I have HP server with 6 core CPU 2.0GHz - does it mean it does not meet the minimum system requirements (2.26Ghz)? Will I be able to go pass the installation?
Got a question regarding 2921 modules. Can I use VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 along with NM-HDV2-2T1/E1 on 2921 and what is the minimum requirements for IOS image?
As I understand, NM-HDV2-2T1/E1 is supported on 2921, however VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 is not, VWIC-2MFT-T1/E1 only. But VWIC-2MFT-T1/E1 is not supported on 2921.
We have 2 catalyst 3560g-48-PoE protected by a 1000Va 800Watt tripp-lite and I was cheking to see if that is really sufficient. Looking at the charts from Cisco suppport I would think I should have more, but have not had any issues with a few power outages
