I have try with some older switches but it doesn't works properly on everyone. I have upgraded them whitout better results, there is namely an issue with TLS handshaking on some switches which produces authentication to fail.

May 9, 2012I have two SSIDs on an Autonomous Access Point, that goes to a 2960 switch, that connects to a L3 3560. I have a vlan for admin/private internal access that uses the native vlan (1) and guest vlan (50). I have configured both and I am trying to get both to go out the same Internet connection.
I cannot get the guest access to access the Internet. It looks like my computer will go, but it just comes up saying no Internet access.All interfaces are trunking this vlan properly. I can communicate from the laptop to the 3560 but I just can't get to the Internet.

I have set up VLAN 2 on 192.168.2.0/24 with the switch as the DHCP server. The switch is connected to an RV082 router which is at 192.168.1.65/27. Once I figure out what I doing I'll eventually shift that to 192.168.1.0/24 or something similar. So I have my switch acting as the DHCP server for VLAN 2 but I can't figure out how to get it to access the internet.

The RV082 doesn't support trunks AFIK and I'm pretty much a newb at this stuff. TIA. I guess I should get a real router and I most likely will but I'd like to get this working if possible before taking the next plunge.

May 21, 2012I have a Cisco Catalyst 2960 series switch. When I connect another switch or a VMWare Esx server on one of the ports, the port blinks for few seconds and then goes off. When I connect a desktop or laptop or a windows server the ports stay led and I can access resources on the network. However, when connect another switch or a vmware esx server, the port is disabled.
What config in the switch can I check to make sure the ports stay on regardless when I connect a desktop / laptop, switch or vmware server?

Jul 26, 2012I have a 2960S switch and nine (9) 300 switches. I have three VLANs configured on them, data, voice and management. Each 300 has unique data and ovice VLANs corresponding to their locations. All of the 300 switches connect to the 2960 in a hub and spoke network topology via 802.1q trunks. I can access devices between switches on the data and voice VLANs fine from any other switch. My issue is that from any 300 switch I can access the 2960 management VLAN interface without a problem, but I can not access the 300 switch management VLAN that I am connected to from the CLI. I do not use the GUI at all for management.

The access point (a TP-Link WA801N) is only able to access the internet when it is plugged into a port that is on the default VLAN (PVID 1). If I plug it into one of the other VLANs then any clients connected to the WiFi lose access to the internet and cannot access devices on the VLAN. Cisco WAN :: SF 300-08 - Unable To Access The Internet And Switches
May 18, 2011I have an SF 300-08 switch with three V-LANs assigned to it. One is dedicated to the management of the device and the others are development boxes.
Right now, to access the switch, I have to go into the TCP/IP properties and assign a subnet within VLAN1 (subnet linked to the management interface). Then to access the interent, I simply remove the settings, as I have another VLAN linked to a subnet from my router.
Is there a way to configure the switch that allows the ability to access both without configuring the TCP/IP settings to be on the other subnet? I do not think so, but it is worth a try.
