D-Link DIR-615 :: Unable To Change IPv6 LAN Address To An IP
Jun 23, 2012I am having a problem which I can't seem to find a way around. I have a DIR-615 E3 that I'm unable to get IPv6 to work properly on.I'm connecting to IPv6 over PPPoE, and I'm unable to change the 'IPv6 LAN Address' to an IP my provider has given me. They've provided a native address in the 2607:: range, however on the router it's stuck at a 6to4 IP which is NOT what they've given me (2002:CEF8:8B79:: IP).
I'm thinking of buying a new router that either has better IPv6 support, or one that supports OpenWRT and working my way through that.

May 23, 2012I have seen other discussions regarding Static MAC address entries on IPv4, but what of IPv6?We have MS NLB solutions and they are working fine. We have Cisco 6509/6504, Version 12.2(33)SXI5
But then we have a new one for a new ActiveDirectory solution, and on those networks we have implemented IPv6.
How is Static MAC address entries and MS NLB solved in IPv6 (i.e arp ip.ip.ip.ip mac.mac.mac ARPA gi1/1). I can't seem to find much examples or documentation on this? Is it replaced with another function?The reason I ask is twofold.
1. I really want to know
2. The NLB cluster seem to drop IPv6 traffic at even intervals, witch seems to correspond with NLB transition.
Linksys Wireless Router :: DVR8-4000 IPv6 Static Address
Apr 10, 2013I have a Swann Communication security camera system with their DVR8-4000 hooked to an IPv4 router, connected to the Internet using the new HughesNet Gen4 service. The Swann DVR wired to my router requires a static IP address. HughesNet Gen4 is implemented with IPv6 and I am told that it does not accommodate an IPv4 type static address.
I have discussed the issue with both company’s technical support. HughesNet Gen4 reps recognize the issue and may support static addressing in the future, but not now. Swann reps will not modify their implementation because of the relatively small Gen4 market. The Swann rep suggested that replacing my IPv4 router with an IPv6 router might resolve the “static IP address” issue.I am looking at several Linksys IPv6 routers including the EA4500 SMART WiFi Wireless Router N900, but know too little about IPv4, IPv6 and router/static addressing to proceed unassisted.
1) can I implement a static address with an Linksys IPv6 router cdonnected to Gen4?
2) Which Linksys routers offer IPv6 support?
3) How does one go about setting an IPv6 static address using HughesNet Gen4 on a Linksys router?

Nov 9, 2012I have a virtual machine running in my desktop which connected on the gigabit lan port on EA4500 with firmware 2.0.37.What I want to be able to do forward a port that came from an external ipv4 address to the ipv6 address and a different port to my virtual machine (to remote desktop port 3389).The reason I want to convert the traffic to ipv6 is because virtual machine is running vpn and is not reacheable through ipv4 (unless bunch of routes are setup and things get complicated etc). I verified my phsical server and virtual server get both ipv6 ip addresses through ipv6 tunnel from comcast. Without tunneling I could not get ipv6 setup using automatic mode with comcast, it simply did not work for some reason.

Nov 9, 2012I set up the IPv6 on EA2700 (running firmware v1.1.39), and all the wired clients can get an IPv6 address, assigned by the router, without issue.However, all the wireless clients seem to unable to get an IPv6 address. If I connect a laptop to the router both wirelessly and with an ethernet cable, then the ethernet NIC gets an IPv6 IP but not the wireless NIC.

Oct 23, 2011So I've got a IPv6 tunnel with Hurricane Electric and it's currently physically segmented off of my home network. A 1841 terminates the tunnel and if I want to use it I need to plug into a port thats on a VLAN with no SVI and connect outbound to test IPv6 stuff. I'd like to give access to some other users and Im wondering if 6 over 4 tunneling with AnyConnect will work for that. My thought was that they could terminate on my main firewall (5505) and then terminate their VPN session in another vlan which was connected to the IPv6 router. I have this config working right now with IPv4 and I can browse out but Im struggling with the IPv6 support piece. The admin guides from Cisco seem to indicate that I'll need to configure IPv6 addressing on the ASA which makes sense, but doesnt fit my current design.

Apr 3, 2013recently migrated APs from a 4400 to 5508 which had the 7.4 code and encountered an issue that I haven't see before, in short the APs would never join the 5508 even when the selction rules said it should.The AP would get a discovery response from both controllers and even though the 4400 had 98 APs attached and the 5508 just 1 and a factory reset was made on the AP, it would always join the 4400.
A packet capture showed that the first CAPWAP address from the 5508 was always an IPv6 whilst the 4400 always sent IPv4 CAPWAP control adressess, disabling the global IPv6 option on the 5508 ensured that the the first CAPWAP control address was now an IPv4 and the AP then happily joined the controller, IPv6 addresses were still showing up in the discovery responses but since it was no longer the first one in the packet the AP didn't mind.
IPv6 - No DNS Query When Using Firefox And IE?
Feb 8, 2011I am setting up a Linux apache and bind server to test the behaviour of Windows XP,Vista, 7 and Mac OS X.I have setup a apache and bind already and they were tested individually. I used Firefox and IE to access the apache page by type in the IPv6 address and the page was showed correctly. And I have tried to query the AAAA record of a local zone "testing.com" in my Bind server using nslookup and the result is good too.However, it is strange that I cannot get it work if I type in the FQDN "http://testing.com" in Firefox and IE. I tried to capture the IPv6 traffic in Wireshark (Attached in this post) and there are no DNS query when I try to access the page. Is there anything that I have to set to get it work properly?(Actually I have tested the same thing on Mac OS X and Vista too but the result is the same)Below is my Windows 7 network setting and some nslookup query:

Feb 20, 2011My ISP is *starting* to roll out native-v6, quiet-like, and I'm trying to get it running in the ADSL-connected home-lab. However, for some reason, PPP link setup fails for v6; v4 is fine, as always. The argument which seems to be sent from IPV6CP as the link-ID seems like it might be overlong from some examples I've seen elsewhere. I have seen 48-bit-ish examples, and this one is clearly longer. I've not seen any config extracts that suggest I may have control over this, though. At least not directly.I'd love to know where to look further, or if this is a known bug, but GOOG searches aren't giving me anything seeming relevant. It's *possible* that the ISP needs to tweak something on the LNS side, but says he has another customer with a working setup (not necessarily on the c8xx ISR series hardware, though). I had the same problems on c880data-universalk9-mz.124-22.YB8.bin image as well, and moved to the 15.1(3)T in hopes of better functionality.
