1. Can the C1200 antennas work on the 1262 ?
2. Can the 2.4Ghz antenna work on the 5Ghz ports on the 1262 ?
3. The 1262 has 6 antenna ports (3 2.4ghz and 3 5ghz), can the (3) 2.4 Ghz antenna be used only as i only have antennas for the C1200 Access point which are 2.4 Ghz.
I have a metal shop that needs wireless indoors and outdoors.
Will it work if I mount the 1262 inside with 4 indoor antennas mounted inside the building and 2 outdoor antennas mounted outside?
I´m trying to test anntenas in a AIR-CAP3062E-A-K9 the problem is that when I´m below the AP the speed is weak, the AP es with a WLC, so I was wondering if do you know a command or a form to test the anntenas or the Radio.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI work for a small college. We have several Cisco 1200 Aironet deployed our the campus, all of which are configures to run multiple SSID's. The problem I have is that when I connect, via AP, it successfully connects to the desired SSID but on pinging the default gateway of said SSID I get high latency (avg around 100 - 200ms).When pinging from the switch (Cisco 2950) to the default gateway the latency is good (1-2ms). It is just high when I connect via the C1200 AP and try to ping.

My desktop PC which has an Asus PCE-N13 Wireless Adapter with two stock SMA antennas receives a very poor signal due to the significant distance between my desktop and the router.In order to improve my signal strength, I thought about buying better 3rd party antennas and specifically external ones which I could place closer to the router that connect to the SMA connections on my wireless adapter via a wire. There's many of these antennas for sale I see, but I'm unsure which is best suited for my situation.

I have a big open area where it is not possible to place ap's.The only placement is a mast in the middle of the area.I have a AP1552 with 5,2 db antennas there.Can i get better coverage if i place 3 or 4 ap's with directional antennas ?Or should i try with a 12dBi AIR-ANT24120 ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have not done the firmware for the units yet but have had only 1 outage thus far (but I think it was a power issue over the weekend).What I have done, 3 weeks ago, is put external antenna's on the 2 units which are 15 feet apart at 15dBi.The output is 40hz and I changed the latency time settings on the main unit, leaving the secondary at factory.This seems to be working for me so far. Usually goes down over the weekend and have to reset Mondays,but not this week. I am afraid of running the firmware because then it may become unstable again.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a question about external antennas on an access point. I have to plan a wireles solution, that also includes coverage in the industrial freezers. The freezers are one part of the sotck rooms, so the general coverage will be done with 1602I access points.
Since there are quite a lot of freezers in one location, installing separate AP in every freezer will be very expensive. I wondered if there is a possibility to put one 1602 access point with external antennas outside the freezer and then extend the antennas with 2m cables inside different freezers (1602E has three external antennas, so one antenna to each freezer).
Would this installation even work?
The freezers are quite small rooms maybe 2-3m2 sow the coverage is not a problem. But does this installation support multiple clients per AP in different freezers doing stocktaking with handheld terminals?
We ordered 2 Cisco AIR-LAP1242AG-E-K9 Wireless Access Points with 4 AIR-ANT5135D-R antennas.We accidentally ordered the 5GHz antennas instead of the 2.4GHz antennas.Would it be possible to use the 5GHz antennas as 2.4GHz antennas?If so, are there any down sides to it?

Each access point has a 5.0GHZ 4.5dbi Cisco omnidirectional antenna, although the AP only supports 2.4GHZ.
Q1. Why a 5.0ghz antenna might had been used with a 2.4ghz AP, and if we can expect increased performance if we replace the antennas with 2.4ghz ones?
Q2. On the controller, the antenna gain is set to 0 for each AP. Is there also a benefit to leaving that 0 as opposed to 9 for 4.5dbi?

- tunk configured btwn the Gi Interface and the Management physical port
- WLC mode is configured for Layer 3
- AP Manager and Management are in the same Subnet
- Option 43 is configured for the with the AP Manager's IP address
- Opotion 60 is also configured with AP Manager's IP address
- the port connected to the APs are in the AP Manager VLAN
Do I need to plug in AP 1262 into a PoE switch or external power adapter before can power on? How about LAP 1262? Do I need PoE switch as well?

Our scenario requires some customization in Wireless network. We have moving Forklift machines fitted with network devices. The network device in forklift acts as a client. But it doesn't have a wireless adapter and no provisions to add a wireless adapter. There is one ethernet port.
So we have a plan to attach one AP(1262) to each forklift. this AP needs to talk to the AP whcih is connected to Wired network. The network deivce in the forklift need to talk to the root AP(1262) through the AP directly connected to it over Ethernet.
We have two cisco 1262 AP and a 4402 WLC, the AP cannot join the WLC.
The AP gets the address from dchp

I'm having this weird problem with an IP phone behind a WGB. The setup is like this: Cisco controller -> Switch -> switch -> AP (Air LAP1142) -> WGB (Air LAP 1262) -> switch -> IP phone.
The phone works, sometimes. Sometime for days, sometime for hours, then it disconnects and what I have to do then to get it working again is to run this command on the bridge. "no workgroup-bridge unified-vlan-client", then wait for it to disassociate, then run "workgroup-bridge unified-vlan-client" and after that it gets a stable connection (for a undetermined amount of time).

is the aironet 1262 access point a good choice for an environment of about 20 users. each users is in an office and we are looking at deploying the ap at the end of the hall on a wall mount. would distance be a barrier and are there any better options out there?

They do not want to dig up the parking lot so we proposed using a wireless bridge. I noticed that Cisco discontinue the 1300 and 1400 Wireless Bridge. Can I use a 1262 with external antenna in Workgroup Bridge mode to perform this functions? I will put a Layer 3 switch on both ends to route traffic (3560C-8). Should I use the Yagi antenna's for outdoor use?
