View 1 RepliesWe purchased some 3502e's and I was told we could set them up as automous ap's to do a site survey. however i haven't come across much online for instructions. i saw one post that mentioned downloading code for another ap model - i think a 1260, but we don't have rights for such a download.
View 11 Replies View Relateda customer got an 1552 outdoor AP in local mode and installed it at a building. It has to run as a Mesh AP (MAP). Now the AP connects one time to the WLC 5508 and started a download. After that, the AP never came back. Like we saw on the other installed 1552 RAP's, they all where in local mode.We configured all AP's to bridge mode, but the MAP could not join anymore. Is there a CLI command to change the mode on the AP itself? From the WLC it's not a problem, but for the AP CLI I cannot find sth.

I'm trying to find a configure example detailing how AP sniffer mode and SE capability can be configured on a Cisco 3600 that is equpped with a WSSI. I came across the WSSI deployment guide which does not go into the detailed that I would like to know.I'm particularly after the flow details.WLC config guide 7.4 only discusses the legacy AP sniffer and SE configuration.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy client has a DSL modem and a Belkin wired 4-port router configured to connect to it using PPPoE. Apparently there is no way to configure the E2500 such that it may be dropped in as a direct replacement for the Belkin (which would also provide wireless access) without the PPPoE login/password (from the DSL provider, Verizon).
I would like to connect the "Internet" port of the E2500 to one of the Belkin's 4 ports, in order to use the E2500 for wireless internet access without using any of the 4 wired ports but I think this creates a NAT within an existing NAT network?
To avoid that if I configure the E2500 in wired bridge mode, it becomes transparent, and I can no longer access its administration interface using the address 192.168.1.1 (since that address belongs to the Belkin). How may I, for example, change the wireless password which the E2500 is in wired bridge mode?
My e3200 is running great Unfortunately it seems that the ftp server does not use/support passive mode transfers, which means that clients behind a "corporate style fw" cannot access the server. The solution would be running the ftp server using passive mode (and opening the necessary ports on the server side), but it seems that it is not supported. Or at least I don't know the passive mode port range.

So basically I have a C877 and a Cisco ASA 5505 and I want to push the public IP of the ISP to the outside interface of the ASA so the Cisco 877 will only be responsible for ADSL and PPPoA. Don't ask me why I don' t use a modem/router instead. I know that is a waste to use the C877 in this way but I want to test the setup.
Right now the config of the C877 regarding ADSL and PPPoA looks like that ( I don't have the ASA connected yet, so all the PC are connected directly to the C877 right now):
interface ATM0 no ip address load-interval 30 no atm ilmi-keepalive pvc 0/35 encapsulation aal5mux ppp dialer dialer pool-member 1
interface Dialer1 ip address x.x.x.x 255.255.255.248 ip access-group OUTSIDEACL in ip nat outside ip inspect FWRule out ip virtual-reassembly encapsulation ppp dialer pool 1 ppp authentication chap pap callin ppp chap hostname xxxxxxx ppp chap password 0 xxxxxxx ppp pap sent-username xxxxxx password 0 xxxxxxx
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 dialer 1
ip nat inside source route-map Nat interface Dialer1 overload
interface vlan 100 is my LAN configured with DHCP.
how I should configure the C877 to push the public IP to the ASA?
We have 2 offices in different countries both using the RV082 router. Currently both offices have an internet connection on WAN1 and that is working fine. We are adding a Point to Point circuit between the two offices, and my question is on the RV082 configuration on each side.
I was going to configure WAN2 in DMZ mode on each router, then connect the point to point circuit to the WAN2 port. On the China side, the DMZ IP will have to be a private address (192.168.177.1), while the DMZ port on the San Diego side will be a public IP. We need internal computers to be able to go to the internet normally through WAN1, but also go through WAN2 if they are trying to reach the other network. I will be adding routes on each RV082 for this.
Is there anything wrong with this configuration? Do I need to change the routers from Gateway to Router mode? Does it matter if the DMZ WAN2 port has a private IP address?
My apartment already has internet provided to all of the rooms, but I'm trying to set up my router as a wireless access point. I tried disabling DHCP on the router, but then I wasn't able to get any internet access at all. Does this device not support bridge mode?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI know the best thing one should do is install an ISA server and an Active Directory Domain Controller on separate servers. But for some reason, I want to configure my Windows Server 2003 as an ISA server as well as an Active Directory Domain Controller. What can happen to my server making it run improperly. For example, my ISA server will function mainly as a Firewall, I wonder if all the rules I create in ISA server determine what I mean it should work or I have to consider any affection from Active Directory DC to those rules?I have to ask this question because I've already installed both ISA and AD DC on my Windows Server 2003, already created an Allow. All rule (just for testing connection) in ISA server but I can't ping from all the clients to my server, all the clients can ping each other and the server itself can ping to all clients. I just think that may be the affection from AD DC to my AllowAll rule in ISA server.
I successfully created some rules that worked greatly as they should work but when I hadn't installed AD DC yet (just installed ISA), however right after installing AD DC, it still worked well (this made me think that AD DC didn't affect to how ISA works). Then I configured a little related to DNS server, and maybe something I don't remember exactly and now I can't ping from my client PC to my server. My network is virtualized using VMware 8 workstation and GNS3, at first there is no need of GNS3 because I just want to test my internal network (some clients connected to the internal interface of ISA server). Depending on VMware that I can't be sure if it is some fault of VMware or any other thing but my configuration on the servers.
I want to configure my router to use 2 ADSL lines each with a dialer and a modem in RFC2684 mode. I have a 2821 (IOS 12.4) with an HWIC-4ESW.
My network topology is like this :
ADSL Modem 1 (RFC2684) --
(Fa0/0/0)
Router -- (Gi0/1) MyLAN
(Fa0/0/1)
ADSL Modem 2 (RFC2684) --/
1. I configure my DSL Modem in RFC 2684. The first use 172.16.0.2/29 and the second 172.16.0.3/29. I connect this devices to Fa0/0/0 and Fa0/0/1.
2. I configure Vlan1 to use the network configured on my modem :
interface Vlan1
ip address 172.16.0.1 255.255.255.248
3. I try to ping my devices :
#ping 172.16.0.2
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 172.16.0.3, timeout is 2 seconds:

I need to set up remote access to my HDD connected to my WDR4300, so I can always go online when I am out to retrieve the saved files in the HDD. However I have zero knowledge of network setting of the FTP servers, I can gain access when I am home and connected to the Wireless network, but how to gain access remotely.
So whenever I put my desktop to sleep and then turn it back on, I cannot connect to the internet. My laptops are fine and can connect to the internet w/ the wireless however. When I have windows diagnostic run a troubleshoot and repair, it tells me it can't communicate w/ the primary DNS server and that resetting the Local Area Connection will fix it (And it does). If I restart the computer, it seems to fix this problem as well.I don't get why it can't communicate w/ the DNS and that I have to manually reset the LAC everytime I turn on the computer from sleep mode.
View 3 Replies View RelatedActually not randomly. It's normally after weekly reboots. This causes the Great Plains DB to be locked to 1 person, so other people get errors.
Sometimes I can just unrestrict access, other times it's grayed out and I have to drop the DB and restart the services to take it out of single user mode.

I tried switching to a newer and better motherboard (still with gigabit LAN)I have updated drivers.I have checked cables (which are all cat 6 cables and work just fine with other computers in gigabit LAN mode)I've checked and switched ports on the switch and the switch itself...no change. They work just fine with other non-W2008 machines, they get gigabit LAN
I am completely stomped as to what I can do to fix this. It runs just fine in 100 Mbit mode, but can't in any way get it in gigabit mode.I am completely stomped as to why it refuses...is this a limitation of Windows 2008 or something or is there a fix to this?
I'm configuring a console server for configuring remote devices. This is working well except for the fact that if a target device is in ROMMON mode, the console server refuses to displays the target device console. It does open the connection but the ROMMON prompt is not shown on the console server . This is essential for this device as we will need to use it to reset passwords remotely and thus need to be able to access ROMMON mode from the console server.
