I have looked through some posts on here of other people having the same trouble, I tried doing the different things suggested and it still is not working.Laptops/desktops can connect to the open SSID perfect, but anything portable such as iPads, Kindles, Phones etc.do not ever get an IP.I'm remotely troubleshooting this issue for a customer and have SSH ability.

Devices on the wireless network, those that have been on the network, are able to disconnect and reconnect. Just new devices are excluded. I cannot connect to the WiFi router, an all-in-one modem+router provided by my ISP. Now, I run an Ethernet cord from the router to my computer: the computer works just fine. As of a day ago, though, none of the home's Apple devices will connect to the network, despite reboots, password retypes, and shouting at them. Each device (two phones and an ipad) can identify my network, but they cannot join. Additionally, there is an old laptop that cannot connect anymore.

My Vista notebook, ipad3, ipod touch, android based phone and blackberry are all able to connect to the wifi, but my desktop is unable to connect to the wifi or ethernet. I was using the Internet fine lastnight switched on my acer laptop this morning and wasnt connected to the router. I tried connecting but it just fails. I'm still able to connect with my iPad and iPod. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the network adapter however this fails to successfully install. I've searched for hours but can't find a solution. I'm also unable to reset the router etc because I live in china and the router is in a roommates room whose door is locked.

I use my laptop with a 3G connection to access the internet while onsite. I also connect wifi, to a portable router I carry, to the sybsystems wired network. Each particular machine/subsystem always has it's own particular private lan/subnet. I only work with a single machine/subsystem at a particular time.What is the easiest or best way to do this without having to always change the ip address on the wireless router (to match the subnet addresses on that particular machine) I use for each scenario. Is there a way to keep the router ip address the same always and add routes or something using a script or something that I can automate? I need my internet 3G connection (which is always my default gateway) as well as a connection to machine's internal network simultaneously (2 different subnets using 2 diffent adapters (3G and Wifi adapter)).
There is never any existing routers on these internal networks. Sometimes there is a DHCP server though. In the case where there is a DHCP server, can I just connect the WAN port of the Wireless Router to the internal network and let the internal network with it's DHCP server act as though it is the "so called internet/broadband connection"?In the event there is no DHCP server on the network, will I have to just continue to alter the address/range in the router?Also, I always have DHCP disabled in the router when using.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy E4200 works beautifully, and was working fine with the Toshiba 500 GB portable drive that I had on it for a week or so. I tried to plug in my WD MyBook Essential (Passed on the list of compatible drives), but the router is not detecting it. Further, when the drive is plugged in, the router stops receiving new wireless connections. Even if I reboot a laptop that was previously connected, it says that that the passkey is incorrect. When the drive is plugged in, I can't even log in to the 192.168.1.1 - it's as if the router creates a firewall around it and refuses every new connection on every port.

Everything still connects to the internet independently but i can't for instance play music from my wireless laptop to my wired marantz receiver. I had no trouble with this last week and didn't change anything (that I'm aware of) I did get Verizon to switch out my router but it didn't solve anything. My wife's computer also cannot connect to wired devices. Lastly, if I connect my laptop with via ethernet cable it sees wired devices fine. I tried shutting off windows firewall but didn't work. I have no other firewall/virus software installed. I can ping to all devices (wired and wireless) from my laptop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought an EA 3500 refurbished through linksys. I can't configurate it using the CD-Rom. Always said "can't find your router". So I flash with the classic firmware, and it fixs the problem and automatically upgrade to smart Wi-Fi. That being said, whenever I plug in a portable hard drive, the router disconnect from internet after a minute. I tried my seagate HDD and also my flash driver. Both Lost internet after a minute or so. So I think it is probably the router's problem.

I have a Flex 7500 with 200 1142AP's working fine in remote office and local setup. We have since purchased 3 OEAP 602's and looking to distribute to teleworkers.
I have configured the OEAP to point to the NAT'd IP of the WLC, the OEAP does connect and is listed briefly in the WLC wireless listing but I am not able to make any configuration changes, it will then dissassociate and try the join process all over again. I have attached below the OEAP 600 event log. I see that the WLC does not support data DTLS encryption and looking to make this work.
I have tried to install the DTLS license file from the Cisco website, but says license failed to install, with no other errors.

I created a LAP Template in NCS to configure some new 1142 LAPs that were installed in a remote office. These LAPs need to be in Flex Connect mode with V LAN support. The template is being applied with partial success on every access point. Details of the partial success say the Flex Connect Parameters fail with the following error.
Provision Failure: { URL}.Object Not Found Exception cannot be cast to [URL]
Am I doing something wrong? The Flex Connect portion of the template has V LAN Support enabled, Native V LAN ID, and the Profile Name- V LAN Mappings configured.

W7. Internet connection is through BT Home Hub2 and is hardwired. No problem at all. But my wireless connected BT internet radio and my wife's Kindle can no longer connect to the internet. The radio says connecting to network but does nothing. I have changed nothing I am aware of. I have looked at the BT Home Hub Wireless set up page and the settings are Using WPA and WPA2 and the correct wireless encryption key is there. Channel selection is automatic. I have changed that to 3 other suggested channels, no result. Frankly it is all Greek to me and I do not know what I am looking at. how I reconnect the Kindle by wireless and the internet radio? (I know I can use a USB to connect the Kindle, but not the radio).

I'm using Windows XP SP3 and immediatly after installing (which went extreamy well) it immediatly found and listed all of my home network printers. All of the wired and wireless windows based systems in my house can see and print to the printers without any problem. However, getting ANY of my apple devices (iPad, iPhone etc ) to print will not even show them as listed on the device when I select print on the devices. Collobos says that I have to make sure that Ports UDP 5353 doe Bonjour and TCP 6361 for FingerPrint need to be open both ways for it to work, I have no problem getting into the router settings and have set them up as stated above in Port Range Triggering and enabled. Also made sure Filter Multicast was not check marked in Security. Unfortunatly, that doesn't seem to work as I had hoped.

I can access the cameras from my local LAN both when using the local 10. ..and external 99 .. Addresses. When I go off the local connection - Access does not work. Slingbox did its auto configuration and I can access it. I just cant get to camera devices (Panosonic, Foscam, etc.).

I am reluctant to upgrade; however, my iMAC is picking up the 5GHz broadcast setting, but the rest of my wireless devices only recognize my lower 2.4GHz setting. I have changed channels, my router address is changed because it conflicted with my Verizon DSL. I do not have FIOS. What can I do to fix this problem. I realize that for the Catalyst 3560 for example, you can get an RPS 2300 or 675, but my understanding is that these are made for a more permanent installation, not to mention rather costly.
It looks like the RPS 675 is rather inexpensive after all, especially in the secondary market, but still rather large for toting around.
I have an iPad 4 (6.1.3) that won't connect to our Cisco 1142 APs. Full Cisco network; 3560 POE switches on edge and Cisco 6509 at the core.At first we looked at it as a wireless issue. No settings changes on the APs would allow the iPad connect. About 125 other iPads of various models worked fine. Took the offending iPad to McDonalds and it connects fine. Took the offending iPad to another school in our District and it connected and worked fine. Went back to the home school, still won't connect. Contacted Apple since iPad was under warranty, sent it to them and they ran diagnostics and it is fine.Is there anyway that the core switch is blocking the iPad client?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDuring the summer we had three laptops and an iPod. Two of the laptops and the iPod were having trouble connecting to the Internet, but I thought that was because we had too many devices but I looked it up and most sites said that wasn't true.
Now we have two laptops and the iPod and there are still problems so I thought it was a modem issue. It's a Webstar DPC2100R2 and when the Up and Down lights go off our wireless has trouble but if I use cord which goes through a D-Link DIR-615, the Internet is fine. When the lights go out I usually turn off both devices and turn them back on after about a minute and that usually works.But then, the lights didn't come back on so I called my Cox, my provider and they did something that fixed for about a week then the two lights went out again. Yesterday I reset them again and my Acer Aspire connected and so did my iPod but my HP Pavilion couldn't so I reset it again. Now my HP and iPod work but my Acer doesn't even though I've reset it multiple times.
What's weird is that the HP never has any trouble connecting, even when the lights aren't on or when my iPod, Acer and my sister's Dell couldn't.

We bought Roku not long ago, which connects your tv to the internet so you can use netflix, hulu, etc., and it had no problem connecting. Now, it just stopped connecting. All of them can recognize the the network they just will not connect. All my freq are good 2.4 or 2.5. WEP Key works no problem, just the minute I try to connect the galaxy tab and cell phone just says "remembered, secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK." The xbox when running the test connection fails as well.
