Cisco :: LMS 4.0 Does Not Appear In Device Management
Dec 14, 2011I have installed successfully installed and configured LMS 4.0 and every thing was okay until the customer decided to change the server IP address without notifying any one.
so i have returned the server to its original ip address since nothing worked after they changed the IP, but even after restoring the old IP address the device descovery is okay, but when i navigate to the devices management nothing appears in the all devices drop down menu and the remaining menues also.
i have tried to restart and to start a new device discovery also i have tried to run a data collection but nothing changed.
still stck on the devices are not appearing in the device management tab.

May 16, 2013I have been sitting on the fence waiting and just using the crappy Apple find my phone, and activesync with exchange server 2010. Other than disable activesync for users without company provided phones because we do not want to get into the whole wiping someone's personal phone if they should misplace it/leave the company.I just read today that Spiceworks 7 (7 beta 1 will be in late May) will have MDM because of using MaaS360. There will be some free basic stuff or for a premium you can add on to it.

Jun 20, 2011I use the Edit Identity option to change the "Display Name" from an IP to a station name, it is overwritten when a discovery has been done. I have checked the discovery settings and tried using the update DCR Display name setting to prevent this from happening, but it makes no difference.Is there something i am missing? This is on LMS 3.2?

Actually, I can already manage the device and have archived its configuration. Problem is, on Fault Monitoring Device Administration, its on Questioned state even though I already tried to rediscover the device several times.Do I need to configure something on the server like put in the IP address and hostname of the device in the host file of Windows Server 2008?

Our Setup has ISE VM acting as Admin, Monitor and Profiling Device, we have NAC 3315 physical Appliance as Inline posture Device, Wireless LAN controller, Access point and the Identity source as Microsof Active Directory.Having Plans to Integrate Mobile Device Management ( MDM ) and Citrix VDI setup also.
As of now we have tested the Wired Scenario Authentication and authorization for guest users and gonna carry out the profiling and posture.
-MDM can be integrated to ISE ?
-How the MDM can be integrated to Cisco ISE configuration or Guide to show the same?
-What is the demarcation between MDM and ISE ( i.e. What is the role of ISE and MDM on Mobile Devices ) ?
-If MDM is available so then when the control of ISE ends, does MDM do management or ISE will do management of the devices ?
-Is MDM will do client provisioning or ISE should do ?
-Is MDM send or update patches of Mobile Devices ?

Sep 29, 2011I have added all of the devices to DCR and they show up with their hostname value in all of the device trees except for the fault manager views. In all of the fault manager views the hostname is not being used for the Devie Name field, rather the IP address is being used.

Nevertheless, in DFM module each one devices appear in the "All Unknown Devices" group, with Error Code: Unsupported. CDP is enable in each one of these devices.

Oct 14, 2012I got the new EA6500. For the last few days I've noticed there are multiple devices showing under one device with different IP addresses. In the beginning they show up individually with their own device names, then somehow combine. Each device is different ie. computer, phone, DirecTV box, etc. I did a hard reset, re-flash and still it keeps happening.

Apr 26, 2011I just got a DIR-655 and set it all up pretty easily. I have 6 wired and 3 wireless. All work fine and all are set to use DHCP. But if I go (in the router) to the Lan Computers list under Device Info, three devices (2 wired, 1 wireless) do not appear. I do have a switch added to the system, but of the three devices connected to it, 1 shows in th Lan Computers list and the other 2 do not.Since everything works, I'm mostly just curious why this is. Every previous router I've had showed everything correctly.

Dec 9, 2012Once your devices start showing up in your device list make a DHCP reservation for each device. (after confirming that no other devices are listed under it).
If you have a device that has multiple MAC & ip addresses under it you MUST first determine what the devices are listed & power-down before you can delete the device. Also note that some wired devices will still show as connected so you must have to either power down the device by pulling Th power cord OR disconnect the ethernet cable.

Mar 28, 2012I've just reset our WISM2 in the test lab back to factory default as I needed to reconfigure the 6500 and the WISM2 itself. Bearing in mind I had it working before.I've just renamed and re-addressed some of the vlans so things flow better and make it easier to add more WISM2s in the future.Now I've run through the initial configuration and it's rebooted ok and show WISM status is showing Oper-Up and there's a port channel 407 been created as I would expect. However, I am unable to get to the management interface via GUI or SSH. In fact from the 6500 I can't even ping the management interface (but I can the service port).The Vlans have been changed in the 6500 config so it knows the native-vlan and service vlan etc and all the vlans are up/up.

Both switches are connected by GE10 on both switches, where both ports are set to trunk.Now on all ports 1-9 on both switches, I'm having client computers attached. So I set ports 1-9 to "access" mode.All interfaces on any switch is left in default vlan.
Is it normal that I see all traffic from all connected devices on any port where I connect a listening device?What I'd like to achieve is, that only traffic that is meant for a specific workstation is actually forwarded to this workstation. By now it seems that I get all the traffic from everybody.

have my WRT160NL that gets a 10.10.73.0/23 address from DHCP on WAN port. Currently I have 10.10.74.21. My internal network uses 172.17.17.0/24.My PPTP-server is located at 10.192.1.1 and when I connect, I usually get an IP in the 158.37.73.0/24-range. Currently I have 158.37.73.28. I use DynDNS to make sure I always know the public IP by the host binders.dyndns.info ...
So, I have Remote management enabled with HTTP and HTTPS, any IP and default port 8080. But no response from the outside world seems to go through.If I turn of the "filter ICMP" but keep the SPI Firewall on, I get ping reply from external sources towards my router, but still no HTTP or HTTPS response.I also have a Torrent I try to port forward to to be active, this is 23277, and this is the only thing that keeps coming up in the incoming log on my router.
It's not possible to connect to the routers management over the PPTP-tunnel?And why can't I get the port forward to work .. Same reason? PPTP 158.37.73.28 -> 172.17.17.100 (LAN) won't work?

8 Port G Switch = SBS2008 / Win2003 with Citrix / Win2K8 Management Server - plus a couple of desktops for Gig to server access.
I connected on the 8 port Gig SW a new Server running Windows 2012 Hyper-V and am not able to ping the PIX - I disabled the firewall and made sure the network location of the HV server is set properly. From the PIX if I try to ping the HV server it fails but I can do a sh arp and the MAC address of the HV server is there. I can ping the HV server from any other device connected to the Gig SW. I can not ping the CE500 from the HV server but I do see the HV server MAC address in the MAC table of the CE500 SW. I tried plugging the HV server into G1 on the CE500 and same thing - the MAC shows up on the correct port but no traffic seems to pass. I have had issues with this switch in the past where a printer would not communicate between the Gig ports and the FE ports - I moved the printer to the Gig switch and made all the users print via print server and forgot about it.

Jul 10, 2012W7. Internet connection is through BT Home Hub2 and is hardwired. No problem at all. But my wireless connected BT internet radio and my wife's Kindle can no longer connect to the internet. The radio says connecting to network but does nothing. I have changed nothing I am aware of. I have looked at the BT Home Hub Wireless set up page and the settings are Using WPA and WPA2 and the correct wireless encryption key is there. Channel selection is automatic. I have changed that to 3 other suggested channels, no result. Frankly it is all Greek to me and I do not know what I am looking at. how I reconnect the Kindle by wireless and the internet radio? (I know I can use a USB to connect the Kindle, but not the radio).

As of a day ago, though, none of the home's Apple devices will connect to the network, despite reboots, password retypes, and shouting at them. Each device (two phones and an ipad) can identify my network, but they cannot join. Additionally, there is an old laptop that cannot connect anymore.

The latest firmware 1.2.4 has introduced the possibility to create specific nat rules via "ACL policy rules". I am trying to use this "new feature" not available in the older releases to get my network configuration done. The configuration I would like to do is to have two different vlan. In the vlan1 I would like to nat the PCs via the point_to_point interface and in the vlan2 I don't want use nat feature so each computer will be reachable via public ip address. I have configured two different PVCs on the device.

Nov 9, 2012I can get regarding using the Collobos Fingerprint software through my WRT150N router. I'm using Windows XP SP3 and immediatly after installing (which went extreamy well) it immediatly found and listed all of my home network printers. All of the wired and wireless windows based systems in my house can see and print to the printers without any problem. However, getting ANY of my apple devices (iPad, iPhone etc ) to print will not even show them as listed on the device when I select print on the devices. Collobos says that I have to make sure that Ports UDP 5353 doe Bonjour and TCP 6361 for FingerPrint need to be open both ways for it to work, I have no problem getting into the router settings and have set them up as stated above in Port Range Triggering and enabled. Also made sure Filter Multicast was not check marked in Security. Unfortunatly, that doesn't seem to work as I had hoped.

Feb 1, 2011So I was having trouble loading a game on my computer and I was scrolling through forums looking for an answer and one answer that supposively worked for a lot of people was to unisntall and reinstall my network card.IT told me to go to devices -> right click network adapter -> uninstall -> then scan for hardwarer changes to reinstall When I clicked uninstall an error message popped up and said "Unable to uninstall device because device is required on startup" and then it apparently just uninstalled it anyway and it showed back up after I clicked "scan for hardware changes".Now ever since, everytime I try and connect to the internet my computer says "Limited or no connectivity" and I'm unable to access the internet on that computer, the computer I am on now can connect just fine, so it must have something to do with the network card that i supposively unisntalled.
