Cisco Wireless :: 6500 Unable To Reach WISM2 Management Interface

I've just reset our WISM2 in the test lab back to factory default as I needed to reconfigure the 6500 and the WISM2 itself. Bearing in mind I had it working before.I've just renamed and re-addressed some of the vlans so things flow better and make it easier to add more WISM2s in the future.Now I've run through the initial configuration and it's rebooted ok and show WISM status is showing Oper-Up and there's a port channel 407 been created as I would expect. However, I am unable to get to the management interface via GUI or SSH. In fact from the 6500 I can't even ping the management interface (but I can the service port).The Vlans have been changed in the 6500 config so it knows the native-vlan and service vlan etc and all the vlans are up/up.

I've installed our previous WISMs and other WISM2s previously and never had a problem.
 
6500 running SXJ2. WISM2 running 7.3.101.0 (which is what the rest of our WISM2s are on)
 
Insert WISM and go through initial setup. Run a show wism status on the 6500, and show sysinfo on the WISM. All looks good. Service port and management vlans are up. From the 6500 I can ping the service port IP, but not the management IP. From the WISM I can't ping the managment default gw but I can the service port. Unable to get anything back from the GUI..not surprising as not even ping works.
 
Now, as I said I've done it this way many times before...in fact I'm following my documentation from the last successful implementation and even adding in Cisco docs.

I have a situation where a customer doesn't have the required power units installed in their 6500 for me to provision a WiSM2.They use a VSS pair with a single Sup720 in each. They have no intention of adding a second Sup to each chassis.

I need to justify why they can't use slot 6 (which has power reserved) if I am to get them to upgrade the PSU's. The documentation I've found says it is supported but not recommended.

how to safely remove the WiSM2 from the Catalyst 6500 series switch? According to the documentation "Catalyst 6500 Series Wireless Services Module 2 Installation and Verification Note":

To remove the WiSM2, perform these steps:

Step1     Shut down the module by one of these methods: In privileged mode from the router prompt, enter the hw-mod module mod shutdown command. NoteIf you enter this command to shut down the module, you must enter the following commands in global configuration mode to restart (power down, and then power up) the module: Router# no power enable module modRouter# power enable module mod If the module does not respond to any commands, press the SHUTDOWN button located on the front panel of the module.

Step2     Verify that the WiSM2 shuts down. Do not remove the module from the switch until the POWER LEDis off.

But, in the case of Step1 (1st methods) I do not see a option "shutdown"  in the command "hw-mod module 3"...

All I prompted to enter is: c6500#hw-module module 3 ?

boot   Specify boot options for the module through Power Management Bus control register

reset          Reset specified component

simulate  Simulate options for the module Is it hidden options?

IOS version of c6500 is 12.2(33)SXJ1
 
In the case of Step2 (2nd methods) there is not any button on the front panel of the module?
 
And yet, it is better to remove the module configuration manually or use the command module clear-config prior to removing the module?

I configure IP address on the management interface port 1 of 5508 controller when i connect it direct to my laptop i can't ping or access controller from my laptop even i connect through layer 2 switch still i can't not.

I know the WiSM 2 is like the 5500 WLC regarding the fact that you do not need to configure an ap-manager interface for CAPWAP packets because by default the managment interface acts like an ap-manager interface.
 
Any major advantages or disadvantages by letting the default action occur?

Cisco :: 2811 - WLC - Cannot Reach Management IP From LAN

I have a 2811 (running 12.4(15)XZ) with a WLCM (4.2.209.0).
 
I have reset the configurations on both. Set FE and WLCM IPs on the router and gave WLC Management and AP manager addresses. All + PC are on the same subnet. Router pings all addresses besides AP-manager(intended). WLC CLI cannot ping PC and PC cannot ping (nor http) to WLC. PC can however ping and telnet the router on both the FE and WLCM IPs.
 
I followed the guides on WLCM configuration, did I miss something?
 
How can I access the management IP and the web GUI?

In one of my client location I have deployed one Cisco 3560X (core switch) and one SG-200-18 (access switch). I’ve configured three vlans (vlan 2, vlan 3 and management vlan 1), relevant trunking and I’ve connected two pc to the access switch to vlan 2 and 3 respectively. So far everything (including inter-vlan communication) works fine, except that I couldn’t reach the vlan 1 (management vlan) devices (access switch and core switch) from any pc which is connected to either vlan 2 or 3.
 
I’ve configured the “port VLAN membership” settings in SG-300 as follows,

Cisco Routers :: RV110W Can't Reach Internal Services Including Remote Management

I have 25 of these routers installed behind various providers and transport (DSL, Cable, UVerse). At sites where I have static IP, I can't reach any service inside, and in fact can't even reach the router for Remote Management. At all times the users indoes can do whtever they like, the have Internet access.
 
At sites where we draw a dynamic IP or use PPPoE, I can reach services and manage the router until a known issue stops the inbound traffic.

Unable To Reach New Printer (Epson SX620FW) Wireless

Recently i bought a new printer: Epson SX620FW, I've tried many things, but I can't connect it wireless to my network. Ive downloaded and installed the latest drivers and software from the internet. My PC is connected with a cable to my wireless router. When I connect the printer with a cable to my router everything works perfectly. But I want to connect my printer wireless. On the printer I disconnect the cable. I followed the wireless wizard setup on the printer and I connect to my wireless router. This is confirmed by an ip adress on the printer. Also in the menu of my router I find the ip adres of my printer in the DHCP clients list. So far so good. But from my PC I can not find the printer in my network. I also cant ping my printers ipadres. When I connect the UTP cable to my printer again, I can ping the ip of my printer.

Cisco Wireless :: WLC 5508 Management Interface Connection

I'm setting up a new 5508.  I've used the config from a 4402, have successfully connected to the Service port to manage the device, but for some reason cannot connect to the Management interface.  In this case, port 1.
 
The service port is connected to a Catalyst switch and grabbed an ip address (10.2.x.x subnet) no problem.  I can access the 5508 via https using the SP.  However, port 1 is connected to the same Catalyst switch, but on a different vlan (subnet 10.20.x.x).  Both ends show that the interfaces are up, I can ping the interface from any other host on the network, but when I try to manage the device via https I cannot connect.  We are using WCS and I cannot add the device from the WCS.  About all I can do is ping that interface.

After I've upgraded software to the v7.3 and applied AP-SSO it made imposible to access the controller's gui via Service-port. So we tried to access it by management-port, but there is some problem too. It is not working from another subnets. But default gateway on management vlan is set correctly and I even tried to turn of all acl's on switch. WLC is only accessible from the same network. But at the same time wlc is replying on ping fine.All other protocols cannot connect to the controller.

I have got a 3502 setup and functioning in Office Extend mode. I have found one issue though. I have to set the checkbox on the my Management Interface to Enable NAT Address and put the external address in the box. Once this occurs no internal APs can join the controller.
 
Need setting this up with a single controller behind a router and not having to set the NAT Address for the Management interface? Should I setup a second interface on the controller to be for external management?

I have 2 x 5508 Wireless Controllers, 1 mgmt port on each as standard. I noticied something different between these controllers running the same code.I can bound a physical port to the mgmt interface on one controller but not the other (both interfaces are untagged)see below, this config appears on one controller but not the other? Is this something to do with the initial setup? How can I add Phyiscal information to the other controller mgmt interface, I cannot delete the mgmt interface. I have a client with an AP541n, most recent firmware installed.  When he logs into the management interface (via IP using Google Chrome browser), it will work for a few minutes and then just disappear.   If he attempts to reload the page he gets a message similar to a website being down (page cannot be displayed).  The idle timeout has been extended to 4 hours, but this can happen at any point while logged into the interface.

I would like to configure a Management ip address on 6500 by giving ip to the SVI. Following is the configuration done

    ip address 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0
    no shut
 
However i am not able to reach this Switch IP from other subnet's. for ex:- 192.168.1.0/24.What next configuration should be done, in order to make this work. I dnt want to use any routing protocol.

I've edited the template, tried cut-&-paste, looked for the archive file on the server to directly modify it (without success), among other things. I have this feature functioning correctly on CatOS switches, but can't seem to get it properly set on IOS switches. What's the limit, as far as the template is concerned, on the number of characters with this type of command? Where are the archive configs located on the server; in the "shadow" directory?

I am tasked with configuring a 2504 wireless controller.  Is it possible to assign an SSID to an interface that has dynamic ap management enabled?

Scenario:
Location1:
1) 10.0.0.0/24
2)192.168.0.0/24 DMZ
 Location 2:
1) 10.0.5.0
 
Both locations are routable using network 1 at each location.  However, I need to configure several access points and send them to location 2.  These access points will communicate with the controller at location 1 on network 1.  Two SSIDs will need to be on network 1 at location 1.  The other SSID will be on Network 2 at location 1.  This network is not routable.

Cisco VPN :: ASA 8.2 / VPN Connected But Unable To Reach Other Interfaces

I have  remote access vpn setup and I can get connected with no issues. I assigned the vpn a pool of addresses from the end of my inside interface subnet. When connected I can ping any device on that subnet, I can also connect to my switch on the same subnet via my browser. I can not however access any device located in my dmz while connected. This is a new setup I'm testing but I need vpn user to be able to use rdp to connect to machines in the dmz.

I am facing the following problem. SmartPhone is connected WiFi hotspot. Suppose SmartPhone ip is 10.0.2.2 and hotspot ip is 10.140.13.12. I am able to send data from smartphone to a server(over internet) which has static ip and sender details in server are hotspot ip. Problem is sending data from server back to smartphone. Tried sending to 10.0.2.2(smartphone) from server but packets are not received.

We are facing strange issue in our network. We have a remote branch which is connected to main branch using Leased Line. Remote branch is having Cisco 1700 Router. Every day in the morning time the remote router is unreachable. We are not able to reach (ping/telnet) the remote Router but able to reach L3 switch/ LAN behind this router. The users from remote branch is also not able to reach the local router but they are able to ping the Main branch.Users in the remote branch are not able to access any resources in the main branch during the issue.
 
During the issue, we have checked the remote branch router and found the CPU utilization of the Cisco 1700 router is very high (99%). If we run "Show process CPU" command (please find the attachment) specially IP input process is very high (97%).

The Cisco 1921 router has two routed adapters. One is GE0/0 which I am using for my WAN interface. It is working properly. The 2nd interface is GE0/1 which is being used as my internal adapter. I have a sg300-10 switch. i update the firmware with the last one. Things are complicated when i create 2 VLAN. ( really 1 VLAN cause the first is native ).So i have the first VLAN with the interface 192.168.1.254 ans the VLAN 2 wich IP is 192.168.2.254

I'm connected with my workstation ( ip : 192.168.1.2/24 with GW 192.168.1.254 ) and i try to ping a web server on VLAN 2 ( ip : 192.168.2.2/24 GW 192.168.2.254 )

Ping is OK ! But when i try to reach any ports of the webserver : Nothing.

I have ASA 5510 and configured client VPN or Annyconnect VPN, when I connect to the ASA remotely using anyconnect I am able to get IP address as configued, from Internal network I can ping and RDP that anyconnect VPN desktop, but the problem is from the remote anyconnect VPN client I am unable to access internal network, when I use ASA packet tracer and check traffic from internal to anyconnect pool of addresses it gives result ok, but when i use packet tracer to check traffic on outside interface from  anyconnect address pool to internal subnet it always gives the packet is dropped at WebVPN - SVC, and I can find any where related configuration for that.

I'm replacing our current router with an ASA 5510 running 8.4(3) and I'm having what I think are NAT issues.From the 192.168.0.0/24 subnet, I'm able to reach the outside world (via NAT/PAT) without any issues. However none of the internal subnets (e.g. 192.168.10.0/24) are able to. Packet-tracer shows no ACL issues.

I have a problem where I have 3845 router and c3845-advsecurityk9-mz.124-24.T5.bin dis is the IOS running on it and there's a back up BRI interface for the serial. Now if my serial link goes it normally goes to my BRI, once we had a time where the BRI was also down and when we restored back the Serial link we were still not able to reach the other side. We are using OSPF routing to reach the destination. When this happens and when we reboot this router we are able to reach the destination. sometimes we are able to reach it when we remove ospf and use static and  now if we put back the ospf routing the link comes back, this happens again and again.

My University has free Internet at student homes, but we need to login by PPTP to get an official, public IPv4 and be able to reach the outside world. The network people at the University says that when the PPTP is up, everything should be open (no firewall of any kind).
 
have my WRT160NL that gets a 10.10.73.0/23 address from DHCP on WAN port. Currently I have 10.10.74.21. My internal network uses 172.17.17.0/24.My PPTP-server is located at 10.192.1.1 and when I connect, I usually get an IP in the 158.37.73.0/24-range. Currently I have 158.37.73.28. I use DynDNS to make sure I always know the public IP by the host binders.dyndns.info ...
 
So, I have Remote management enabled with HTTP and HTTPS, any IP and default port 8080. But no response from the outside world seems to go through.If I turn of the "filter ICMP" but keep the SPI Firewall on, I get ping reply from external sources towards my router, but still no HTTP or HTTPS response.I also have a Torrent I try to port forward to to be active, this is 23277, and this is the only thing that keeps coming up in the incoming log on my router.
 
It's not possible to connect to the routers management over the PPTP-tunnel?And why can't I get the port forward to work .. Same reason? PPTP 158.37.73.28 -> 172.17.17.100 (LAN) won't work?

Cisco :: Separate Interface For Management On ASA

I'm trying to separate my management traffic from regular traffic by splitting the management and "outside" interface to separate vlans but I'm hitting a routing issue. Say I have have a management network of 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 running across vlan 1 and I want to use 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0 running across vlan 2 for the outside interface to send all the other traffic excluding the management traffic across. Tag both vlans on the external interface, say Eth0/0 Default route of route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.2.1, With this, you can not hit the management interface because there is no route defined for the 192.168.1.0 network. However of course if you try to set one, you'll get the "connected route exists" error. How can I set the default route or gateway of the 192.168.1.0 network on the ASA. Switches just don't complain like the ASA does.

We acquired recentlty a new Cisco 6509 with Sup-2T supervisor card
 
My question is the following : we have a management subnet on a Copper-based switch; we manage all equipments through this network. I planned to configure the management interface on the 6509 to connect this switch & monitor the VSS through it However, since it is a CMP interface, most of the actions (SNMP, IOS upgrade.. won't be possible through this link)  Moreover, I don't think LMS would be able to get the configuration through it (except by configuring a script running "attach" command & show run
 
Is there something I miss or must I add another interface of the Catalyst to this network (the problem being that I have no copper line card)

I have 2691 router with following config

When i remove the login local from the line console i connect to console port and press enter it shows router prompt 2691Router> but i am  unable to go to enable mode.If i telnet to router then i put username and pw then it goes straight to enable mode.

Any reasons why i can not go to enable mode by console?

Cisco WAN :: SRP 527W Web Management Interface Inaccessible

We have recently purchased a Cisco Small Business Pro SRP 527W router, all seems good and it is running smoothly, no disconnections or sync issues like our last router. However, after a certain amount of time the web management interface is unavailable through the browser (accessing it via 192.168.1.254 or the alternative we set-up 1.1.1.1) It is totally unavailable and timeouts in the browser yet there is still internet access and network is still alive. The web management interface was accessible before though and the only solution I have been able to do to access it again is to reboot this router.Could it be possible that because port 80 is forwarded to a different IP it interferes with the Web management interface? And how wcould the interface port access be changed?
