Cisco Routers :: RV110W Can't Reach Internal Services Including Remote Management

Feb 11, 2012

I have 25 of these routers installed behind various providers and transport (DSL, Cable, UVerse). At sites where I have static IP, I can't reach any service inside, and in fact can't even reach the router for Remote Management. At all times the users indoes can do whtever they like, the have Internet access.

At sites where we draw a dynamic IP or use PPPoE, I can reach services and manage the router until a known issue stops the inbound traffic.

Cisco Routers :: WRVS4400N V.2 - Remote Management Through The Firewall

Mar 21, 2012

I'm attempting to configure remote management (and, sometime soon, SNMP) for a newly-deployed WRVS4400N v.2.At the Basic Settings page, I enabled Remote Management, and left the port # at the default. Remotely I entered the public (static) IP for the router in the address bar of IE8 similar to this: 67.203.???.??:8080. IE8's response is, "The webpage cannot be displayed." I'm using a public wi-fi access point, and don't know how the local router is configured, so it's possible that the local router has a blocking rule in the firewall.I'll try again using another remote router that I manage.

Cisco Routers :: RV042 V3 Remote Management Port?

Apr 11, 2013

I have a brand new RV042 v3 that I just updated to the latest firmware (v4.2.1.02) and have stumbled across an anomaly... I can only access the router from the WAN port using port 80.  I happen to have it set to port 8080, but that doesn't work; I have to use standard port 80.

I have two other RV042 units running older firmware and they work as expected and follow the port that is filled in.  This one has me puzzled and wondering if this is a bug in the firmware.

Cisco Routers :: RV082 Disabling Firewall And Remote Management

Sep 17, 2012

I have a RV082.I need to disable the firewall, since firewalling is done better elsewhere. However disabling firewall Remote management on wan ip is forcefully enabled.I don't need Remote management, keeping it enabled is a security risk for my setup.I don't understand the rationale behind the choice to forcefully enable remote management if firewall is disabled. Is there a way to disable both firewall and remote management?Or at least a workaround?

I'm on firmware 2.0.0.19-tm on a probably v2 hardware. (Cannot find this info in the web configuration). This is not the newest even for v2 hw but I cannot afford to break it trying to upgrade the firmware. Moreover no release notes for firmware releases refers to a correction of firewall/remote management behavior. Is this behavior also in newer firmware releases?

Cisco Routers :: Rv042 Remote Management Unavailable After Certificate Export

Nov 24, 2011

i was connected to my rv042 via remote management / browser, and tried to add vpn clients. i generated a new certificate and then i clicked on export for clients. by doing this, the remote management disconnected and i cannot access the router anymore.

how can i get the new .pem file from remote? do i have to make somebody turn off and on the unit to get back remote access??

p.s.: after turning off an on i tried the same steps again: everytime i click on "export for admin" or "export for client", this kills the remote management and the unit must be hardreset. now: how do i get the newly created client certificate off that unit ?? otherwise i will have to drive 350 km just to grep that file ?!?!

Cisco Routers :: RV042 After Configuring DMZ / Remote Management Stopped Working

Sep 30, 2012

I have a 6 month old RV042 with the newest firmware (v4.2.1.02). Over the weekend I configured the DMZ which after a lot of trial and error, was able to get working. Prior to configuring DMZ, I was able to log in with remote management. However now remote management no longer works. I've tried:

- Rebooting the router
- Turning the firewall off/on
- Turning remote management off/on
- Changing the remote management port

The only step I haven't taken is resetting the router back to factory defaults and trying to reconfigure it all again. This router is so finicky I have no faith I'd be able to get my current functionality back again.

Cisco :: 2811 - WLC - Cannot Reach Management IP From LAN

Jul 4, 2012

I have a 2811 (running 12.4(15)XZ) with a WLCM (4.2.209.0).

I have reset the configurations on both. Set FE and WLCM IPs on the router and gave WLC Management and AP manager addresses. All + PC are on the same subnet. Router pings all addresses besides AP-manager(intended). WLC CLI cannot ping PC and PC cannot ping (nor http) to WLC. PC can however ping and telnet the router on both the FE and WLCM IPs.

I followed the guides on WLCM configuration, did I miss something?

How can I access the management IP and the web GUI?

Cisco Routers :: RV220W V1.0.2.4 Remote Management / Load Balanced Proxy Fail?

Sep 26, 2011

I just purchased 5 RV220W to act as internet/wireless router at a remote site. There is no VPN, just LAN and Wireless routing to the internet.I have setup remote management and it works fine when I am directly connected to the internet. However, everytime I try to connect through our HTTP/HTTPs proxy farm, it usually fails. Specificially, I get the log-in page and can log in. It starts to render the landing page but redirects to a page stating "Your session has been terminated." On rare instances the first page will appear, however within a few clicks I end up with the same terminated page.

As a test, I bypassed the farm and forced my browser to use one proxy exclusively. At that point I could access the HTTPS interface with no issue. I have not had any issues with other SSL sites with the proxy configuration in use.Is there some sort of MITM prevention I could be running into? If so, can it be turned off.I am new to the RV-series of routers. Is there any logging I could turn on that would provide insight on why the session may be getting terminated?

Cisco Switches :: 3560X - Cannot Reach Management Vlan

Mar 12, 2013

In one of my client location I have deployed one Cisco 3560X (core switch) and one SG-200-18 (access switch). I’ve configured three vlans (vlan 2, vlan 3 and management vlan 1), relevant trunking and I’ve connected two pc to the access switch to vlan 2 and 3 respectively. So far everything (including inter-vlan communication) works fine, except that I couldn’t reach the vlan 1 (management vlan) devices (access switch and core switch) from any pc which is connected to either vlan 2 or 3.

I’ve configured the “port VLAN membership” settings in SG-300 as follows,

Cisco Wireless :: 6500 Unable To Reach WISM2 Management Interface

Mar 28, 2012

I've just reset our WISM2 in the test lab back to factory default as I needed to reconfigure the 6500 and the WISM2 itself. Bearing in mind I had it working before.I've just renamed and re-addressed some of the vlans so things flow better and make it easier to add more WISM2s in the future. Now I've run through the initial configuration and it's rebooted ok and show WISM status is showing Oper-Up and there's a port channel 407 been created as I would expect. However, I am unable to get to the management interface via GUI or SSH. In fact from the 6500 I can't even ping the management interface (but I can the service port). The Vlans have been changed in the 6500 config so it knows the native-vlan and service vlan etc and all the vlans are up/up.

Cisco Routers :: RV180 - Custom Firewalls Rules Including Between VLANs

Aug 6, 2012

Our firewall just died - it was a windows server 2003 rackmount running Microsoft ISA server. I'm shopping for a replacement, but would like to get an appliance rather than have to purchase a whole server, which just seems like overkill.

We had four network ports on the old box - one for internal, one for the cable modem, one for guest wifi, and one for the VPN (We have a dedicated Barracuda VPN appliance, so we won't be using the VPN functionality on whatever new router we purchase)

What we'd like to do is have a set of rules similar to what we had on the ISA server. We denied everything by default, and then for example: Allow outgoing HTTP, HTTPS, FTP access from guest wifi and internal network to the internetAllow access from the VPN subnet to certain ports on certain machines on the internal networkForward incoming access from the internet on port 443 to the VPN boxetc.

From reading the manual for the RV180, i could get a rough configuration going by putting internal, guest wifi and VPN on different VLANs, and disabling inter-VLAN routing for the guest wifi. However this doesn't get me the detailed control that I am used to - guest wifi and internal would be able to see the whole internet, and the vpn would be able to see anything on the internal network.

Does the RV180 can actually give you this level of control? What would be the most cost effective router from Cisco that could do this for me?

Cisco VPN :: ASA5505 Can't Reach Remote Resources

Oct 13, 2011

I have a (central) ASA5510 acting as a EasyVPN server and a number of (remote) ASA5505 as EasyVPN client. All the communication works fine between the different networks. The issu is the ASA itself. The remote ASA can ping the central ASA on it's internal IP-adress, but it can't ping any other  resoruces at the central network. If I ping the DC at the central network from the remote ASA I get a deny in the central ASA with source address as the public IP-adress of the remote ASA and destination of the internal address of the DC. If I from the remote ASA do "ping inside ip-of-central-dc" it work's like a charm, but "ping ip-of-central-dc" dosen't work.

Cisco LAN :: 2651xm Cannot Reach Snmp On Remote Router

Apr 13, 2013

I have a cisco 2651xm router here at home, and at another remote location I have a cisco 1760 router, both are connected to the internet via adsl (WIC1-ADSL card). The problem is that from home I can't connect to the snmp-service on the 1760 router. I'm using a PC that's on the LAN of the 2651XM router, the blockage is in the 2651XM router, because if I swap it for a cheap plastic domestic router I can get snmp data from the 1760 router, and this is without any port forwarding in the domestic router. What config do I need on the 2651XM router so it will pass this traffic?

What it needs for the ASA to route traffic between the VPN´s tunnels?Does it need static routes on the remote sites to advertise the other remote sites ?

However, with each of these packages, I would like to be able to remotely manage the satellite modem. My problem is that these modems all have the same web management IP address (192.168.1.1:80) and I can't change them. I thought to myself, "too easy, this sounds like an excellant case for NAT!" Either I'm tackling this thing all wrong or something because I can't seem to get it to work. Here is what I've so far (IPs modified and extra info cut[CODE]

Cisco VPN :: ASA 5505 - Users Aren't Able To Reach Remote Network Through Site-to-site Tunnel

Remote-access users aren't able to reach our remote network through a site-to-site VPN tunnel between two ASA 5505's.

I've seen several threads about that here, I've run through the walkthrough at [URL] I've taken a stab at setting split tunnelling and nat exemption, but it seems I'm still missing something. Remote-access users can reach the main site, but not the remote site.

Remote-access (vpn-houston) uses 192.168.69.0/24.
The main site (houston) uses 10.0.0.0/24
The remote site (lugoff) uses 10.0.1.0/24
