tell me if cisco 1921 onboard GigabitEthernets can reach 10Mbps with concurrent services, one GigabitEthernet interface as WAN interface, the other one as LAN interface.
View 2 RepliesI have a Cisco 1921 which has a IPSec connection to the outside, but despite this, it seems the hw accelerator module is not used because the stats are all zeros (see below). Also, I can see that the module is enabled ( using show crypto engine brief ), but the connection are router to the sw module ( using show crypto engine connections flow )

I have 25 of these routers installed behind various providers and transport (DSL, Cable, UVerse). At sites where I have static IP, I can't reach any service inside, and in fact can't even reach the router for Remote Management. At all times the users indoes can do whtever they like, the have Internet access.
At sites where we draw a dynamic IP or use PPPoE, I can reach services and manage the router until a known issue stops the inbound traffic.
The Cisco 1921 router has two routed adapters. One is GE0/0 which I am using for my WAN interface. It is working properly. The 2nd interface is GE0/1 which is being used as my internal adapter. It is running NAT. When I attempt to reach the internet it fails while checking the exit interface. Here is the report.

Im asking above question because we will need to enable ip-sla on the mentioned router. as i read on the cisco webside, it says Cisco-ISR-1921/K9-IP Base support only IP-SLA RESPONDER feature nothing else. If Cisco-921/K9 does not support the above commands , should i go for ordering Cisco-1921-SEC/K9 ?
I had tried to connect my internet using a 10/100 standard Ethernet card but my net connection was fluctuating. My Brother who is a network engineer told me to switch back to 10 mbps from 100 mbps full duplex and he prayed if that might work. Luckily enough it worked and solved my purpose of delivering uninterrupted net connection.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe Setup On my home network, I am running Windows Server 2003 as domain controller and file server with a SCSi attached disk array.I have several client PC's. 2 running Windows XP service pack 3, 1 laptop running Windows 7 Service pack 1 and a desktop also running Windows 7 Service Pack 1.These are connected by 2 switches - 1 x Netgear gigabit switch, and a Linksys PSUS4 USB Print server at 100mbps.The PC I use the most is the desktop running Win7 and transfer files to the server.After transferring some large files from the clients to the server, I noticed that the speed was considerably slower than what I was expecting it to be. After investigating, and eliminating elements of the network, I discovered that the Server NIC was running at 10mbps. I tried the usual things like forcing the NIC to run at 100mbps Full Duplex but this had no effect. Strangely, if I reboot the server while the desktop is still switched on the connection goes back to 100mbps. However if I reboot the desktop, or even alter the network settings, it immediatley reverts back to 10mbps.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIm currently experiencing an intermittent connection on my office and we just upgraded from 4Mbps to 10Mbps. Latency is high when pinging commercial website like yahoo.com,it shoots up to 200sec. ISP router is connected to two HP Procurve Switch, then the workstation and servers. Already did a router/modem test and it failed, I advise our ISP to change the router but it were still experiencing the same problem. Network drop is also experience even after office hours, eventhough only few workstations are working.

Everything works fine except the onboard lan doesn't work.Windows shows that there is no cable connected even though it is connected and it works. Currently I'm using the cable to write this on my laptop so that's proof that it indeed works. The bios settings for the adapter are set to enabled. I have tried the weird stuff, like unplugging for 30 min and starting again and reseting bios and holding the powerbutton for 10 sec with powercable unplugged.The cable shows that it's connected when i set speed and duplex at 10MB/s, full or half duplex, and I can ping the router but the internet eludes me.There has been no thunderstorm in the last 23 hours, I have tried the latest lan drivers from both Realtek and ASUS, there has been no windows update to mess with the system and I've tried formatting and setting up windows again.
My LAN speed was 100 Mbps but now it is 10 Mbps and too slow when I am using internet. So how can i increase the speed to 100 Mbps from 10Mbps?

I have been paying Time Warner Cable for 50mbps download, but have been getting just under 10mbps for quite some time (ethernet,NOT wireless, we have no wireless-capable devices) After hours on the phone with Tier 3 tech support, two visits from technicians, a replaced modem and countless hours googling, I am at my wits end.When I go into the Task Manager and look at Networking, it shows the Link Speed at 10 Mbps.I have gone into my network adapter settings and set the Speed/Duplex to 100mbps Full, as the TWC rep said.Also switched cables, powercycled, rebooted the PC, etc.Google searches suggest going into the router settings and raising the cap through there, but I can't find the proper setting for my device (Motorola SURFboard SBG6580) if they even exist at all. it's using slightly outdated firmware ( SBG6580-3.3.1.0-GA-09-058-NOSH ) and that that could be causing the problem.
So I'm on the 100mbps virgin fibre optic broadband, and for the past couple of days, every now and again my speed drops drastically. It's not the Internet, because I've tested it on my laptop both wireless and plugged in. Even my phone and iPad are getting higher speed.
When I first got the internet(About a week ago) my download speed was 100+ mbps, but now my Link speed is constantly at 10mbps, even if I set my NIC to 1gbps full duplex, I've tried disabling and re enabling, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, updating drivers. Restarting the router, starting it in Modem mode.
At home I have a Cisco 877 router, I also have Optus Cable internet and Telstra Business Direct DSL. I have configured the ATM interface for the Telstra DSL connection through the onboard DSL interface. I have also configured Fast Ethernet port 0 as a vlan2 port, which is configured for use with the Optus Cable internet (this is connected through an Optus Netgear CG3000 router). The Nethgear has DHCP enabled (192.168.0.xxx range), as does my Cisco 877 (10.0.0.xxx range).Firstly, the Telstra Business DSL is due to be connected tomorrow between 9am and 1pm, so it is not physically connected as yet.From my laptop connected to fa3 and using Console connection, I can ping all of the 192.168.0.xxx addresses that exist, as well as my own laptop and a VoIP phone I have connected to fa2 (laptop is 10.0.0.100, VoIP phone is 10.0.0.101 both DHCP assigned, not MAC Reserved either).I can use internet explorer on my laptop to connect to the Netgear router, but no other internet pages. I also cannot connect to my Fuji-Xerox printer at 192.168.0.20 through the web browser, yet I can ping it from the router.I don't have a huge experience with Cisco as yet, and everything I have learnt has been basically self tought. I am looking into doing my CCNA, once I achieve enough funds Now, what I am trying to achieve ideally is, to combine both the Cable and DSL services to in effect double my speed? if this isnt available, a load-balancing type of scenario would also be good. Both DSL plans have a 500gb download limit, but the reason I needed the Telstra DSL is the VoIP phones I am using won't connect through Optus (Optus have locked nearly everything out), and Optus will not give me a STATIC IP address with the Cable, whereas I have on on the Telstra DSL, I would like to Remote Desktop into my main PC eventually.

All devices on my network do not need to stay in the 192 range, they can be 10.0.0.xxx. The DHCP could be disabled on the Netgear (Cable Modem) if that's required as well.

What is the most recent date of the driver for this adapter? I was attacked by a VERY bad virus (called SMALL) and have just got everything back to normal (I think). It may be possible that the driver for my network card is corrupted. Device Manager says driver is dated 2/23/2012 and the version is 7.3.1.7336. Is this correct? Two weeks ago the machine ran fine, Windows 8 installed without a problem.

I've been trying to find a response or a fix to this issue for a few weeks now.My DIR-655 RevB router is currently at firmware 2.07NA, and has speeds of around 30Mbps down and 10Mbps up when connected directly through wired connections.However over wifi, I am only getting around about 5 Mbps down and 2 Mbps up. I've tried the 'usual' fixes suggested on here, change broadcast signal to manual, not auto, shutting of QoS shaping, all of that. However nothing seems to be improving the speed.

Lately, it happens twice that the dl speed drop to 10mbps. If I connect the SB6120 directly to my PC, the dl speed is 30mbps. Is my DIR-655 dead?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 9-year old PPPoE DSL modem at home whose ethernet port is only 10mbps. For some reason I am unable to establish PPPoE connection on my E1000 when connected to this modem (PPPoE login is correct, as it works with a different router when connected to the same modem). Someone suggested that the problem may be that the DSL modem is unable to negotiate Ethernet connection because E1000's WAN port is 10/100mbps (autosensing failing?). The suggestion was to manually set the router's WAN port to 10mbps. Is there such a switch somewhere on the E1000 - I cannot find it in web admin console anywhere?
Any other guesses as to why the router and the modem cannot connect?

We had a storm the power went out when the power came back and I started my computer I had no internet. It is a gateway desktop MFATXPNT YKT 500X bought in 2003. I have tried loading drivers no luck and I have tried a usb ethernet adapter in which the computer says it can't load the drivers.

I have a wired connection (on-systemboard network interface) to a Belkin 54g router, but the router is not physically connected to the internet (no ethernet cable out to a cable modem/whatever). The router connects several necessary peripherals - mostly wirelessly to the main PC and another W7 PC.) All this stuff worked prior to a move to a new location.
There is freely accessible Wifi in range (public library - wherein I could concievably carry the whole PC and use their WiFi with their blessing).
I attached a USB Wifi adapter to the PC to avail myself of the free service, but W7 will not allow the Wifi adapter to be seen until I detach the ethernet wire. Then it will allow me to see the available network, and connect.
How does W7 (or the system board) look at network? Are they (onboard NIC and USB) mutually exclusive? Do I need a separate ethernet adapter card or a separate USB adapter card to create a different "channel" that would allow the two networks to coexist?
I have a Netgear FA311v2 Pci adapter and the onboard Realtek RTl8168/8111 PCI-E (NDIS 6.0) url...Which one should I use for Win7 64 bit? They are both fairly old and I am unsure as to which is best if I am doing a lot of FPS gaming.

I am currently planning a Active directory deployment. It will most likely be a new forest, but the domain could become part of a existing forest. I have about 45 Computers with about 85 users. At one time there is about 42 users logging in as there is two shifts. The logons will be done all at once. Do you think two domain controllers will be able to handle the load?

The users will have successfully accessed the network previously but then will have difficulty associating to the network. After a period of time, the association appears successful again.
