Is there a way to configure a disclaimer that will pop up on the client machine that they will need to accept to be allowed access to the wireless network?
View 3 RepliesI have an ASA running 8.2.x code with AnyConnect 2.4.x.I have both Radius and LDAP (AD) AAA available.If a user connects from a company owned laptop, I want to push down AnyConnect client ProfileA (with scripts to map drives etc...) and network ACL's set A.
If a user connects from any other computer, I want to push down AnyConnect client ProfileB (no scripts etc...) and network ACL's set B.
What I would like to do is CSD to do a machine certificate check (for presence of a cert from my private CA) and to assign a EndPoint Policy attribute (Managed on successful check or Unmanaged on failure). I can then use DAP to tailor the ACL's that get set.
It seems like the only way to handle AnyConnect client profiles is with Group-Policy. Using LDAP I can assign a user to a Group-Policy, but I have no way of determining is they are coming in from a company laptop or not when assigning the Group-Policy. DAP can not assign an AnyConnect client profile.
If at all possible, I do not users to have to pick a conenction profile or use different URL's.
i have 3 systems. 1 server,2 client(all installed with xp). internet connected to server machine. all systems connected to a switch. Internet sharing is ok but on client machine not loading webpages like facebook or yahoo. The client machine loads [URL] in amazing speed, but not loading any other webpages. I tried disabling the avast antivirus but no use. Server machine loads everything correctly. i am using windows xp in the host file '127.0.0.1 localhost' only cleared the history tested with 3 browsers (IE, chrome, mozilla) Nothing works.. I have a small CCENT/CCNA lab with a few switches and routers which I would like to connect to my D-link home router so that it can access the outside world. I have an 877W which I believe is supposed to be able to connect to a wifi network as a client.
I have seen reference to configuring a bridge but this is something outside of my current understanding. The idea is to have the 877W with it's wireless interface connected to my wireless network and the Lab connected to the 877's intergrated switch, using the 877 as a basic router connecting the two networks. I've scoured Google and put together a configuration using what I could find in forum posts and Cisco documentation. The D-link is set up for auto WPA/WPA2 Personal (TKIP or AES). I'm using an ASCII key with an update interval of 0. I've never had a problem with other devices trying to connecting to it.
At the moment the 877W seems to connect to the D-link but then lose it's association, from what I can see it looks like the 877 is trying to rotate the key? Once this happens my laptop loses it's wireless connection and I need to reboot the D-link to get it back. Interestingly the Windows 7 network icon shows three computers with a link between each as the network icon when this happens. It's as if the 877W acts as a Rogue access point and steals my client's connection. On one attempt the debug output showed the 877 geting an IP address from the D-link's DHCP so it does seem to connect initially.

I have 2 AP1522 and I have to configure them so that clients can connect either 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz. Each of the two AP1522 must be autonomous, but has to bear in mind that are close together.
To do this I have:
- Defined the two AP1522 as RAP mode
- Set the flag on the "client access on backhault link", but I have not enabled the sub-flag "Extended backhaul Client Access" (what is this sub-flag?)
- Set 2 BGN different (but this is indispensible or I can put the same BGN? what is the difference?)
- Set the two AP1522 on two different channels (but this is necessary? or is importan only if I set the same BGN?)
- The two AP1522 appear on the WLC as a way bidge (is correct?)
How can I check if my laptop will connect using the 5.0 GHz?!? It's just turn off the antenna of 2.4 GHz?!? On my laptop I haven't found a way to force it to connect in 5.0 GHz.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a strange error on my home network that I cannot find a solution to.I have an Huawei SmartAX MT882 from TalkTalk acting as a modem connected to a D-Link DSL-G624T acting as a router/switch. Connected to the D-Link I have a Windows 7 Pro machine (64-bit, SP1) and an XP (home i think) machine (sp 2 i think).The SmartAX modem is set up to perform DHCP and DNS relaying and the D-Link has DHCP turned off and DNS relay turned off.The Win7 machine can access the network, get an IP address and access the internet without problems, regardless as to the status of the XP machine.The XP machine can access the network, get an IP address and access the internet with no problems ONLY of the win7 is powered up. When the win7 machine is off, the XP machine seems to drop about 25% of the ping packets between it and the D-Link router and has no internet access (because of this i assume). [code]

I have an unused TD-W8151N. I also have a smart TV that requires a wired connection, with no way of getting a wire to it.
Can I configure my spare TD-W8151N as a client of the existing WiFi network and connect the TV in to the TD-W8151N with a cable?
New Win-7 machine set up. I used the printer set-up wizard to install a networked printer in the new machine with absolutely no problem. Proved it would print from that machine.Now, I get a call informing me that her old XP machine, which had been printing to the network printer with no problems, will no longer print.Documents go into the print queue, but they don't get printed.No error messages show up.I did some messing around via remote access, and finally removed the printer with the intention of reinstalling it.Scanning for network printers turned up several redundant instances of the same printer with different names. Some are identified as "invalid" some a "access denied". Bottom line. I can't get any of the selections to install.On the Win-7 machine I did find a window that indicated that the printer is designated as being shared, but I didn't explicitly set it for sharing when I installed it. Also, I somehow got to a window that told me that for printers that were to be shared with other versions of windows I could optionally install drivers to support such machines. Didn't have the driver disk handy and took the window down. Now I can't even find it again.I need sorting this all out.Part of the problem is that out there in "network land" there are redundant remnants of previous installations that are being remembered inappropriately.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a network problem. My windows 7 machine is not detecting win xp machine whereas win xp machine is detecting win 7 machine. They are in the same workgroup named Home. And the networking system is set to work. I have left the homegroup I was previously in. I enabled file sharing for devices that use 40 bit and 50 bit encryption. On XP I have enabled NetBios over TCP/IP. File sharing is enabled on both computers. I think it's something obvious as both instalations on different computers are really fresh and both windows haven't been tampered with.

I read on the net that when you have a situation like in my company where are headquarter and two offices, i should put in each branch office and headquarter one asa firewall and a firewalls should be configured as easyvpn.

I solved the problem with the server as a remote access VPN. client workstations that are on the 192.168.2.0/24 network can access a local LAN via VPN. But when you put the ASA 5505 firewall. clients on the LAN side of the firewall can not access the VPN. I use software products Cisco VPN Client 5.0.06, but when I create a connection and try to connect to get an error secure vpn connection terminated locally by the client. reason 412: the remote peer is no longer responding.
I need to configure our ASA5505 firewall for remote access to our network using EasyVPN software installed on a laptop. That laptop will be connected in the different places, using DSL or 3G toggle or Public Wi-Fi. For some people it's very easy, but I don't have any experience with firewalls.

Is there anything more I need to do to allow one wireless client to ping another wireless client - am I missing something - i assume this is possible.Needless to say wireless clients can ping non wireless clients and vice versa quite happily. Everything is running with factory default settings more or less.

A have a more restricted access to server than B.PEAP machine authentification is authorize on both network, to let our users laptop connect before the user login, this enable us to have our computer gpo deploy before the user logon, or have network access to authenticate a user to our directory if he had not logon previously on the laptop.
Users from group A can't logon to SSID B, they can only logon to SSID A, but we have some clever users from group A who have change they wireless setting to only send machine authentification (this can be done in the advance setting of a wireless network in windows 7) to connect to SSID B
We can't force the wireless config by GPO because we don't have an ad 2008 domain, we are still in 2003 soo we can't change the gpo for windows 7 wireless setting . I can't force user to require machine authentification and user authentification because we have a lot of ipad and iphone, and other mobile device that connect using only their user credentials.Is there a way I could configure this without having to disable machine authentification for SSID B?
