Cisco Wireless :: Configure E2000 Linksys As Client Device?

Jun 26, 2011

I'm trying to configure my Linksys E2000 to be an ethernet attached wireless device to use on computers instead of dongles, etc.  I don't want it to route, just act like a Wireless card.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E2000 - Request Timed Out When Ping From One Device To Other?

Jun 29, 2012

I have a E2000 router/access point. I am able to connect 3 laptops, 1 smartphone and 1 printer wirelessly to the access point. All computers and smartphone can access the Internet. The problem is that none of the devices can connect with each other and thus cannot print. I can ping the router, no problem. Get "request timed out" message when trying to ping from one device to the other. Router firmware is 1.04

Linksys Wireless Router :: How To Configure E2000 On Linux

Jan 11, 2012

I'm a Linux user and just got a new Linksys E2000 router. I attached the router to the computer with the Ethernet cable, and switched the router on, expecting it to work as DHCP server by default, so I could access routers configuration and set it up as needed. This however failed right away. Obviously the router didn't start DHCP, even after I reset with the reset button on the back. Now there is no way to accesss the router to configure it, since web interface path relies on router's DHCP function to access it through 192.168.1.1 which is not working. What can be done to enable it?

Linksys Wireless Router :: How To Setup / Configure E2000

Sep 16, 2010

I just bought a Linksys E2000 router and ever since I set it up the internet will cut in and out on my desktop and my laptop, but when I unplug the internet from the router and plug it directly into my desktop (that's how I have it right now) it works perfectly. I have already tried to reconfigure the router and that didn't work either.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3000 DHCP Client Table Not Showing Connected Device

Jan 10, 2011

I upgraded to firmware version 1.0.03 I started to have this weird issue: I have four PCs connected to this wireless router via wireless G. They all run Windows 7 Home Premium. After a few hours I started to notice that the DHCP client table is empty even if all four PCs are connected to the internet. This causes a networking problem because one of the PC serves as a file server and it grants access by IP addresses. Not being able to "see" those computers, my access is denied.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Configure WRT54GL As Vpn Client?

Dec 2, 2011

Connect my linksys WRT54GL router to the proxpn vpn privacy service as a client? (or any other vpn privacy service for that matter)  I already have an internet connection up and live with a cisco router so I would need to connect the linksys to the cisco and use the linksys as a vpn gateway kind of thing, so that any computer connected to the linksys will automatically be in the vpn tunnel without needing any cleint software installed on it. The vpn service I use is proxpn but they won't support the settings of individual routers (understandable). The only setting they give for a PPTP connection is here

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WMP600N - System FW Not Include Enough Info To Properly Configure / Use This Device

May 4, 2010

I've purchased a wmp600n pci adapter january this year and installed it with no problems and did not encoutner a single problem with it until today. I use windows 7 64bit.

I've just came back from a 3 week absence and turned on my computer for the first time since i left. I notice that I have no wireless connection. So i go to network connections and realize that my wireless adapter dosent even show up..only my lan card. So i check my device manager, and under network adapters, i can see my wireless adapter, but with an exclamation mark next to it. I check the properties, and under the status box, it gives me this message.Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35).

So i do what it says, and flash my bios to the latest version. After the update, I check the device manager, and the error message is still there. I check my wireless adapter driver version and it is v3.0.2, which is the latest version according to the linksys driver download webpage. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the adapter but no luck there. I also checked to see if maybe there was a problem with my pci slot and that was not the problem because I was able to use my older wireless adapter.

Cisco Wireless :: AP541N Device Stops Accepting Client Connections

Feb 8, 2010

We have an AP541N that has been deployed to replace a Cisco 1200 AP (B/G radio).  The 1200 functioned perfectly in our environment.  The new AP541N on the other hand seems to work fine right after a reboot but immediately starts to degrade service.  Over a short period of time, the devices bandwidth degrades to the point were the wireless network is not usable.  This happens with just one device connected.  Eventually, the device stops accepting client connections. We are unable to get any relevant logging out of the device to diagnose the problem.

Cisco Wireless :: Configure 877W As Client?

Jan 3, 2010

I have a small CCENT/CCNA lab with a few switches and routers which I would like to connect to my D-link home router so that it can access the outside world. I have an 877W which I believe is supposed to be able to connect to a wifi network as a client.

I have seen reference to configuring a bridge but this is something outside of my current understanding. The idea is to have the 877W with it's wireless interface connected to my wireless network and the Lab connected to the 877's intergrated switch, using the 877 as a basic router connecting the two networks. I've scoured Google and put together a configuration using what I could find in forum posts and Cisco documentation. The D-link is set up for auto WPA/WPA2 Personal (TKIP or AES). I'm using an ASCII key with an update interval of 0. I've never had a problem with other devices trying to connecting to it.

At the moment the 877W seems to connect to the D-link but then lose it's association, from what I can see it looks like the 877 is trying to rotate the key? Once this happens my laptop loses it's wireless connection and I need to reboot the D-link to get it back. Interestingly the Windows 7 network icon shows three computers with a link between each as the network icon when this happens. It's as if the 877W acts as a Rogue access point and steals my client's connection. On one attempt the debug output showed the 877 geting an IP address from the D-link's DHCP so it does seem to connect initially.

Config and debug output are below.

Config:
!dot11 ssid MYSSIDauthentication openauthentication key-management wpainfrastructure-ssidwpa-psk ascii 7 MYWPAKEY
!interface Dot11Radio0ip address dhcpshutdown!encryption mode ciphers aes-ccm

Cisco Wireless :: Configure AP 1522 To Accept Client Access On 2.4 And 5.0 Ghz?

May 5, 2013

how to configure AP1522 in my possession.

I have 2 AP1522 and I have to configure them so that clients can connect either 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz. Each of the two AP1522 must be autonomous, but has to bear in mind that are close together.

To do this I have:

- Defined the two AP1522 as RAP mode

- Set the flag on the "client access on backhault link", but I have not enabled the sub-flag "Extended backhaul Client Access" (what is this sub-flag?)

- Set 2 BGN different (but this is indispensible or I can put the same BGN? what is the difference?)

- Set the two AP1522 on two different channels (but this is necessary? or is importan only if I set the same BGN?)

- The two AP1522 appear on the WLC as a way bidge (is correct?)

How can I check if my laptop will connect using the 5.0 GHz?!? It's just turn off the antenna of 2.4 GHz?!? On my laptop I haven't found a way to force it to connect in 5.0 GHz.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Internet Access Regarding Linksys E2000

Aug 21, 2011

I can connect to my router but either way it seems like i can't get any internet access (both wireless and by cable): url...I have tried the steps that the linksys FAQ suggests shall fix this problem, but this has not worked. I have also tried to reset the router without any luck. I know it its not the modem that is causing the problem because I'm wired to it now.On the E2000 every light is blinking as it should be (hence the FAQ) so it indicates that there might be a problem with the connection between the router and the computer (tested on other computers too without success).

I've restarted the router, done a factory reset, upgraded the firmware, renewed the IP and still I cannot get any connectivity. If I changed some settings in E2000's wireless configuration, in the status sheet I can see it works at 40MHZ. But after a while,(5-10 mins) it automaticly down to 20MHZ and my labtop connect only got a 144M speed.

how can I deal with that to make it always keep at 300M connection? Note the previous router I used to connect to my lattop can always keep that speed.
