View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a E2000 router/access point. I am able to connect 3 laptops, 1 smartphone and 1 printer wirelessly to the access point. All computers and smartphone can access the Internet. The problem is that none of the devices can connect with each other and thus cannot print. I can ping the router, no problem. Get "request timed out" message when trying to ping from one device to the other. Router firmware is 1.04
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a Sonos multiroom-system, and connected the first player to my E2000 router through Ethernet. It then gets a dynamic address through DHCP, I can see the Sonos within the network when looking in the admin tool of the router. When I start the Sonos controller software on my PC (XP), the software can not find the Sonos when my PC is connected through Wifi.As soon as I connect PC to the router with ethernet cable the Sonos is found immediately and can be initialised. After that, I can disconnect the cable and control the Sonos wirelessly. (as long as I don't close down the controller software for too long)
From what I understood from the sonos.com website, the Sonos sends an UPnP multicast signal on port for SSDP on port 1900 for initial connection. Further communications port are described below.Somehow, this multicast package seems not to be transferred into the wireless LAN, only into the wired LAN. Do I have to open some ports, filter some ports?Forward them?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 (running Vista Home Premium) that connects to my Linksys E2000 and to a wireless printer, the Canon MX870. It's been working for months without problems.
I just got a Toshiba Satellite P770-BT4G22 Laptop (running Window 7 Professional 64 bit) and installed the Cisco Connect software following the instructions where you have already set up the router and just need to install the software to do things like add a device. I can connect to the router fine using a web browser or the Cisco Connect Software and my Toshiba connects to the Internet through the router without problems.
The problem is Cisco Connect says it can't find a wireless printer when I run it on my new Toshiba. I've put the printer within 3 feet of the router with my Toshiba in between but still it can't find it. My Dell in another room connects to the printer no problem. And I can print to the Canon if I select the Shared Canon Printer ( on the Dell) using the Toshiba's Control Panel Add Printer function. But obviously that means the Dell has to be on so that's not good for much more than troubleshooting. I've also wired a connection from the printer to the Toshiba and downloaded the latest driver, printed that way so I know that's not the problem. The problem is that Cisco Connect can't find the printer. It says there are 6 devices attached to my router so it's seeing something, but I guess not the printer. I've turned any firewalls off for this testing too.
I'm stumped as to why it can't find the printer when the Dell did and they are all on the same network. Unless it's not compatible with 64 bit Windows.
I upgraded to firmware version 1.0.03 I started to have this weird issue: I have four PCs connected to this wireless router via wireless G. They all run Windows 7 Home Premium. After a few hours I started to notice that the DHCP client table is empty even if all four PCs are connected to the internet. This causes a networking problem because one of the PC serves as a file server and it grants access by IP addresses. Not being able to "see" those computers, my access is denied.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can connect to my router but either way it seems like i can't get any internet access (both wireless and by cable): url...I have tried the steps that the linksys FAQ suggests shall fix this problem, but this has not worked. I have also tried to reset the router without any luck. I know it its not the modem that is causing the problem because I'm wired to it now.On the E2000 every light is blinking as it should be (hence the FAQ) so it indicates that there might be a problem with the connection between the router and the computer (tested on other computers too without success).
View 9 Replies View RelatedI would like to set the router's dns entries but I don't see how to do that. Basic setup page has DNS setep for the DHCP scope but I don't want to push dns to my pc's. What I am looking to do is to use an alternate dns to what my service provder pushes and still have the abliity to route on my internal network.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo i can only forward 10 ports on my E2000.Example, one game (Battlefield 3) requires 10 ports (TCP and UDP combined). What about my other games? how can one, if possible, add more ports to the router?

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy internet cut out last week and after calling my ISP I found out it was in fact my router that was causing the problem (regular connection to PPOE works fine). I've only had my E2000 about 2-3 months and have not had any problems with it. I've restarted the router, done a factory reset, upgraded the firmware, renewed the IP and still I cannot get any connectivity. I can access the router UI fine and I get a response from pinging it and also I have tried replacing the cables but that didn't fix the problem either.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an E2000 that I was given as a gift. I would like to use at it my office for a switch at my cubicle where I can connect 2-3 computers simultaneously. I am in a large network and am a user only. When I hooked the E2000 up today my computers would not get internet access BUT my laptop got wireless access and internet.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using E2000 currently and meet a wireless connection problem. The speed can up to 300M bps. When I confiured the E2000 to band auto (20-40mhz) and my wireless network card to work at also auto (20-40) mode, it always down to 144M speed when connection.
If I changed some settings in E2000's wireless configuration, in the status sheet I can see it works at 40MHZ. But after a while,(5-10 mins) it automaticly down to 20MHZ and my labtop connect only got a 144M speed.
how can I deal with that to make it always keep at 300M connection? Note the previous router I used to connect to my lattop can always keep that speed.
I have a E2000 router that would go out and I would have to unplug and replug in every once in a while. Finally it just stopped working completely. I reset the router and now it won't let me connect. I have followed advice given to soembody else on here and went into router settings and cloned the mac, the IP address was there and reset my security settings. It let me connect to the network but not the internet...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys E2000.
It worked fine until one day, without any change at all, it simply stoped working. I mean, I can still connect through my wifi laptop connection (it shows connected to my router and says that I have an excelent signal). But, I can't reach the internet. But, If I unplug the internet cable, and plug it in my laptop, the connection works fine. A friend told me that this could be caused intentionally by the internet provider, that they would block my signal to avoid me using a wireless router, trying to force consumers to sign their own wireless service. Thus, by this friend advice, I've cloned my laptop's MAC address to the router. It didn't work either.
I have a Cisco E2000. When i connect to my cable modem directly, I get 30-35 MBps down and about 10 up. When I plug in to my E2000 it does that at first... but slowly over time, the speed degrades, usually down to about 5-6 down and 3-4 up. If I unplug the router, it typically restores full speed, but not for long (a few days maybe). Also, when I unplug the router, it is pretty hot.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFor Xbox 360? currently, whether wired or wireless, my Xbox 360's NAT type is strict, and I am unable to do anything online whatsoever. Is there anyways to set up an exception, or anything that can open my Xbox's connection to my router so I can actually use it online?

I have an E2000 router that has an intermittent issue where Bonjour drops out. Suddenly my Apple TV won't see my computers, and my iPad won't see my network printer. This happens whether the Apple TV and computers are connected via wired or wireless interfaces.
Restarting the devices does not solve the issue.
Restarting the router solves the issue (until it happens again...)
My router is version 1.0, with 1.0.04 firmware.
I have a e2000 router and a wmp600n wireless card in my desktop pc. Everything works fine until I enable 40 mhz for faster speeds in the e2000 router. When I do this the router switches from 20 mhz to 40 mhz and I get the faster speed. But the effect of this is that my pc gets all "choppy". What I mean is that everything freezes up every few sec. For example when im minimizing windows, the windows freeze half way for about a sec then unfreezes. My mouse does the same thing, even my sound is choppy. I have to switch my router back to 20 mhz and then everything is fine again.
Using windows 7 64 bit
Using newest dirvers and firmware from Linksys.
I have a E2000 for a half a year now.We have been on hollyday for 5 days so my routers has been shutdown.Today it happend 3 times that my complete LAN disconnected for no reasonI didn't have any wired or wireless connection.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the Linksys E2000 and set it up on MacBookPro no problems. My iPhone 3G and my gf's iPhone4 connect no problem. Also, I have an XBox 360 connected via ethernet cable. Her MacBook however is constantly not getting an IP. I set her up with an EZ Key, but every time she connects we have to go through the EZ key process where I run Cisco Connect from my laptop. Why can't she just log in every time? This is frustrating me as all other aspects of this router work fine. I had her plugged into it as well with no problems. Again, it works after a dual computer Cisco Connect cycle, but my computer isn't always home.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my new E2000 will not connect to our Charter TV Cable internet service. Another router works fine with same cabling. I have reset EVERYTHING numerous times and cross patched -- hard patched, wireless to where my finers are bleeding. My ISP is DHCP and requires no login. So my router is set to automatically connect. Could the router be defective?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a refurbished E2000 on Amazon. Last night I set it up and when I tried accessing this website [URL], I could not connect to the server. First I thought it's the server problem and let it go. This morning it's the same probelm. I called my local cable technician and he told me it's the wifi router is blocking the website. I called the CISCO guys and they refused as it was out of warranty.

View 1 Replies View RelatedE2000-RM router has been working fine until about 2 days ago. Wired connection still works fine, but the wireless signals seems to be dropping in and out. I have a couple wireless devices and they all seem to be experiencing problems. Using the network connection bar on my laptop sometimes it shows a strong signal and connects no problem. Then all of a sudden the signal is gone (drops off list). It can be both the main and guest signal dropping, other times it might just be the main, etc., etc. Sometimes it shows a signal but will not connect and then a few seconds it might connect, or drop entirely. I guess the best word to describe it is highly erratic. Distance does not seem to matter. I can be 2 feet away and get the same behavior. The indicator on the box shows a signal at all times.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an E2000 (2 yrs old) that is not connecting to the internet. It is a slave to a BEFSR81 which controls the DNS.I am able to connect to other computers on my home network, so I know the wirelss is working and the cables are all good. I know that I can plug my laptop into the port on the hard wire router that the wireless was plugged into and I can get internet. So the only thing I can think of is the inernet is being blocked at the E2000.
