Cisco Wireless :: WLC 2504 / Does NPS (Windows 2008R2) Support EAP-TLS
Dec 3, 2012
Is NPS (windows 2008R2) supports EAP-TLS? I've built an NPS to authenticate wireless clients (WLC 2504). But in the EAP types I only see EAP(PEAP) this only requires a certificate on the server side.
I want the clients also should have a certificate, for that the NPS should support EAP-TLS
We are in the earlier stages of moving our Domain Controlllers from 2003 to 2008 R2. The remote agents are running in 2003 Domain Controllers. According with Cisco Documentation, I can move the agent to a Windows 2003 Member Server and the upgrade to 2008 R2 Domain Controllers.
I am moving a Windows Server to a new location. We currently have static IPs but are not using any of them so at the new location I requested no new static IPs. With that being said is there anything I need to worry about when I move? From what I have heard it should be a turn it on and go type of move.
I have this test windows 2008 r2 server. I can connect to the internet on this server. However my client xp machine, cannot see the server via windows explorer. I can however ping the windows 2008 r2 server. Using the servers ip of 192.168.1.230 Another thing is I cannot also remote to the server on the internal LAN. Using RDP.I ve even tried with firewalls turned off on the server for some mins.
I would like to get it clarified, that Cisco WLC 2504 running the code ( 7.2.110.0 ) does support IPv6 or not ?
From Cisco Documents they are asking to enable IPv6 support under WLAN > Edit Page, and Enabling mulicast on Ethernet Multicast Mode under Controller > General.
But from the GUI am not able to find the above two field, Even in Interface i created under Controller > interface is not accepting IPv6 address. I am able to configure IPv6 ACL .
Is any deployment document is available to show different scenarios with configuration.
does wlc 2504 support air-ap 1262n-e-k9.if yes does the air-ap1262n need any upgrade or sometine to join the controller, this is versions & image for both AP & WLC2504: [code] and the below what i configure for my topology WLC connected to switch by Trunk linke allow all vlans.AP connected to switch by access mode for vlan 20. the IP address sechma :
i am looking for alternatives to Windows System Resource Manager, as we do not have Datacenter or Enterprise editions of 2003, or 2008/R2 terminal servers. The main problem we have is when a user tanks the entire server with Excel in a workbook that would be more appropriate as an Access SQL database rather than being in Excel.
I have a customert that needs to support 200 laptops over 16 classrooms with scalability to 400 laptops. I have a heatmap design to cover this with 22 1042 access points. Does any one know what features the 5508 has over the 2504? By reviewing the data sheets, the biggest feature difference is better support for mobility, which not a need for this deployment as they just wheel a cart of laptops into a classroom and fire them up. Also, does the 2504 support LAG across the four gig interfaces?
I attempted to assign a User Roles template to a## 2504 controller and if failed with message stating controller version not supported. My current WCS version is 7.0172, if I upgrade to the lastest version will that resolve the template issue?
I am actually working in configuring a wireless controller 2504 integrated a windows 2008 server as radius server for authenticating the network users registered in a windows active directory database. The Radius server is a Windows 2008 Server with the rol of Network Policy Server.
I have been following a pair of documents in Internet, but it doesn't work yet.
Which authentication method should i use?...the Windows 2008 NPS doesn't work wtih LEAP, should i use PEAP or there is an another recomendation to authenticate the windows active directory users?
configuration tested working between a cisco wireless controller and Windows 2008 NPS as Radius Server for authenticating the windows network users.
Is it possible to insert a Netgear wireless router b/g 108Mbs into a running 2008r2 network, making it a slave to allow wireless access?
At the moment the menu is only accessible thru 192.168.0.1, but I need to have it visible as a device subservient to 10.151.48.1? If this is possible, I can set it up to do a SSID broadcast for wireless access?
I have found this device to connect my pc to my network. My pc will be running win 7 but in the description of the product it says that the device does not support win 7Does this means that the device will not be able to operate at all with win 7??
I have a Linksys wmp200 wireless adapter in my PC, and will installing windows 7 pro 64bit in a few days. I was wondering, does the wmp200 support Windows 7 64bit? If not, how can I get it working? It is very important that the internet works on this PC, so im hoping for minimal issues.

how to use Microsoft server 2008R2 NPS with cisco wlc 4400.am i correct, each LWAPP AP have to be connected to NPS . (this AP is also called access server)?when client tries to connect to the wlan, (in this case lets say we want a user in AD, after providing its creds, can access the network, internet etc) the auth req is sent from AP to NPS/RADIUS? where does WLC come into play here, what does WLC do?
I am wanting to setup a small network at home. I am using Server 2008r2 64 bit running on VMWorkstation, which is the only way I can run a 64bit OS. I have it installed and running on VM with active directory and a domain created. My problem is trying to join the domain with my other PC's. They cannot find the domain name. The network connection on the VM is set to NAT.
After completing an AD upgrade to 2008r2 I've had my fill of roaming profiles. I want to change all users back so that their profile is on their pc. Of course ideally I'd like this to occur with the user affected as little as possible. Most users are still winxp but some win7 machines too.
We had a power outage that kicked off our server and our network switch (2008R2, Cisco2960), before we could get it back up, a user was able to log into his laptop.
The user used the domain login - not the local machine account - he obviously wasn't able to access any shared resources, but how did he log in with a domain account, when the server and switch were both off?
I have windows server 2008r2 running a FTP server, so I can back up my configs and upgrade IOS when needed. My problem is than I can backup to the server just fine but when i try and restore a config or pull a new IOS over it gives me this error
%Error opening ftp://13****** (Protocol error) this is happening on every switch I have and I can't figure it out.
I planned to install a LMS 4.0.1 Windows platform. I would like to know if LMS 4.0.1 supports only US Windows version (2003 or 2008) or if it supports also local (French) Windows version.
I just purchased the RVS4000 v2 to replace an old Netgear FVL328 VPN router which no longer met VPN needs. Despite the poor reviews for the RVS4000, it seems as though Cisco has solved many of the issues with the firmware releases of the last few years. However, I was just reading a post by someone attempting to connect Win 7 machines via VPN tunnel and it was not supported. I'd like to know if this is still an issue, as we stopped using VPN with the former Netgear router, instead relying on teamviewer (but I'd much rather reconfigure a VPN).
Does LMS 4.0 support Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition (64-bit )?Is necessary for a fresh installation to download and install the Windows 2008 R2 patch?
get a status on Mac Lion and/or Windows 7 64-bit SSL VPN support for the RV220W? QuickVPN (for Windows 7 64-bit users) and IPSecuritas (for Mac Lion users) are our current workarounds, but for folks that use/own their own equipment we prefer SSL VPN. This is why we retired our WRVS4400N v2 for the RV220W.
