I had bued a WRP400-G2 device today and found 3 problems here (after upgrade firmware to latest). But biggest problem is that I can't open a bug case in TAC becouse I bued device from retailer and have only one year warranty. Is it possible to contact technical support of Cisco by email or Web site? It will be a problem to contact cisco support by call.

Yesterday all stop working the router lights were off, the computers couldn't be reached. so went to a store and bought a new one, but now i find someone that said to me that this could be a simply thing to repair and that i could do it myself. But it's some how impossible for me to just open the case.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was doing a moving job for relatives and had to set their network back up. In a state of fatigue I plugged a higher voltage cord into the router by mistake. Now, even with the right cord, the power lights won't come on. It still gets hot , so I know electricity is getting inside. I believe I shorted the Zener diode or blew a capacitor and would like to repair. Problem is, the case is smarter than I am, can't see a way to open it. It's a D-Link Model: DIR-615.

Therefore, I was hoping to achieve a setup similar to this one:Cable modem => VoIP Router w/ voice only (WRP400) => "Main" router (WRT54GL w/ Tomato)Is there a way to bridge the WRP400 successfully with the WRT54GL keeping only the voice feature enabled on the VoIP router while the WRT54GL takes care of the rest? I want to configure a Cisco Wireless Lan Controller (4400 and 5500 series) with to data ports for failover? I think the primary and secondary ethernet connections should be configured as trunks. I cannot find anything on CCO about this or on the internet per se. I know how to configure for failover with APs but cannot find anything on how to configure the controller in case an the ethernet port goes down.

This router support bridge mode, but i'm unable to configure it. There's no such option in the web configuration page, but the manual says that disabling nat activates automatic routing mode. Unfortunately all i get when i disable nat is to be unable to reach any wan address.
By watching the generated routing table on the wrp400 (when in NO nat mode) i see that 0.0.0.0 is correctly set up to use the external border router, but any incoming packet from the wrp400 lan port isn't routed there.
Also, i don't get any dhcp from the external router, this means the wrp400 is blocking it.

I have a WRP400 VOIP Cisco router.... The WRP400 seems to hamper my ability to access outside the network over time. If the router is plugged in for an amount of time, my broadband (35mb UPC) gradually tapers down to nothing. As soon as I restart the router, my broadband access shoots back up to the full 35mb.I've been on to UPC numerous times, they say their connection is stable & good..... must be router.I have a DVR (security camera system) that when plugged into the WRP400, seems to exacerbate the issue. It normally takes the router two few days to hamper internet access.when I plug-in the DVR internet access goes from 35mbps to 0.5mbps in a few hours. I've update the Firmware to the latest Version: 2.00.26.

The LEDs stayed on as if nothing had happened, but the router was dropping everything coming from both the WAN and a wired LAN interface. Since than, I had to restart it 3 times during the last 3 days.The firmware is 1.53.0, which seems to be the latest firmware for the European market - even when I try to get a newer firmware, this site only offers the US version 1.02.2.Should I update the firmware to the US version 1.02.2 ? Is there any difference between the 1.53.0 and the 1.02.2 version ? Is there a way to restore the original firmware in case the update fails ? I haven't found any link to 1.53.0 version..Also, does this firmware updating affect my warranty ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedOn several calls i noticed that the outgoing audio stops for 5..15 seconds randomly. I'd say it happens on an average of every 5 minutes.
When this happens, i can see that the value after "Call1 Packet error:" increases by one. Why just a wrong packet may stop the outgoing audio for so long? i've much more packet losts (about 3%) but they give me no problem at all.
Since a little and cheaper Handytone HT502 gave me intermittent audio too, but the effect was much better (audio still stops, but in a second it comes back), i wonder if is there something i can do by tweaking the WRP400 settings, I'm still using firmware 1.01.00.

Basically, what is happening is that some users are capitalizing the first letter of their AD username, and it's causing ACS to deny their access due to the case of their username. For example:

Is there a way to make it so that no matter uppercase or lowercase, we are giving this person access? Without having to make a different rule for each permutation?

Works just fine. Now I wish to boost the signal to a building beyond the local area by attaching a wireless router to a Dell 260 running XP. This router's IP is 192.168.11.1 (ON) and 192.168.11.100 (OFF), and I've spent hours with the Connection Wizard thing on XP trying to create a ethernet path to the router but I can't find a configuration that states an ethernet path or channel. The modem lights normally and other machines can pick up and connect with its signal but there's no real transmission, the receiver machines getting:Firefox can't find the server at [URL].Check the address for typing errors such as [URL]instead of [URL] If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.Ironically, the router works just great on the Macs, which has both Airport on to receive signals from a cable TV wireless router and also has its shared Ethernet connection on, and the ethernet side requires no IP configuration like it seems you must on the XP's internet connection page. The router in question just plugs in the Mac and transmits just fine. I would use the Mac for this purpose but I really wish to use the Dell.The Dell's current network configuration after many trials:

Oddly, the Mac's Network panel states: "The cable for built-in ethernet is connected, but your computer does not have an IP address and cannot connect the internet." Yet it does!

On my XBOX 360 i have the IP & DNS set to Auto, and I get an OPEN setting on my NAT.But when I play online (Halo 3) I can't join any of my friends' parties,acting like it is STRICT. When I set up my IP & DNS to Manual and put in static IP & DNS, I run the tests and get STRICT. It seems to me that even though my NAT "says" its OPEN, it is really on STRICT.
