Cisco Wireless :: Connecting WLC 2504 With 3750-x Switch?
Aug 15, 2012
I connected my 2504 wlc with my 3750-x switch using port-channel. Later i came to know that LAG mode is not supported in 2500 series , so i removed port-channel from my core switch and connected all the 4 port in WLC to core without any port-channel. Is that recommended?
one more thing is , from WLC i can ping tha management interface on my core. but i cannot ping the default-gateway of my dynamically created interface on my WLC to core(core is the defauly gateway for all).

I have got a new 48port Cisco catalyst 4948 switch, which I configured as a VTP client and connected to Cisco 3750 which is a VTP Server (this switch is on production network). I connected port g1/0/48 from 3750 to port g1/48 on 4948 through a straight cable and made both ports as trunk port (I also tried through cross cable). The problem is these two switches are not detecting. For testing I connected a PC directly to one of the port on 4948 (making that a switch port) still the LED on switch didn’t glow up. Is there any special command needs to be run on 4948 switches to activate its physical ports?

I'm introducing a Cisco 3750 switch into a Avaya environment for testing/lab. I'm concerned about any STP, VTP problems I might create as I'm going to give a address on the Management VLAN and connect it to a trunk port on a ERS5520 Avaya. I've set the switch to transparent mode and the VTP revision is set to 0. I've checked the STP priority but it doesn't give any - there is no output because it is not connected. I wouldn't be so concerned but, I'm not sure if any config has been on it before. Also, is there any way for me to see the STP prioroity without having it connected?

We are experiencing some issues with the Apple TV and WLC. We currently have a Apple TV and iPhone same sub net connecting via Lightweight AP (different sub net) which connects to a Cisco3750 running IP Base. This connects to WAN routers managed by third party over a WAN and connects to far end Managed routers, these connect to other Cisco3750 IP Base and onto a 2504 Wireless LAN controller. We have used the the following document for WLC configuration; [URL]
We turn on Multicast globally, with IGMP snooping enabled also enable Multicast Multicast under controller (only option available on 2504) and give the device M Cast address 239.21.1.150 . The P2P blocking action is disabled. Going to Monitor Multicast we can see the Report for 224.0.0.251 and MGID. However the issue is at the Sender Receiver side the iPhone cannot see the Airplay on the iPhone that should be seen if the end to end stream is working. My focus is now on the Cisco3750's, although I do not totally understand why the device needs Multicast enabled as the Multicast Join and Group Traffic is encapsulated in the CAP WAP Tunnel is it not? Anyway I have enabled the only option "ip multicast routing distributed" and under the V LANs that connect to WLC and AP the only option available is the "ip pim passive" there is no "ip pim sparese-dense mode"
I am sure the WLC is configured correctly, but I suspect that this will not work due to the IP Base image on the 3750's not being able to run full multicast or we need to use uni cast for this solution that the 2504 does not support.

I am not familiar with setting up 2504 with dsl router.
Any basic guides for setting up 2504 with a dsl? do i need any static ip addresses for this setup or dhcp lease provided to cable modem would do?

I have two 3750-X configured to be a stack and I am planning to re-rack these somewhere else. What I would like to know is what are the effects of having the master switch itself lose power? Does it immediately just make the member take over master (there should be no election since there are only 2 switches??) and there would be no loss of connectivity?

I added a new SSID in VLAN 2 and I would like no to use the DHCP Server but to make the AP get an IP Address from the pool I created in the own AP (ip dhcp pool Guest) but every time I try to connect the new v lan, it doesn't get an ip address.
Follow the settings of the AP.

Have a Linksys E4200 router located in my basement and I am experiencing a puzzling wired connectivity issue as follows: Port 1 on the router is for my study, I have no problem getting connection regardless if I use my study's Ethernet jack or if I run a 5 ft. cable (hereinafter THE CABLE) from the router’s port 1 to my laptop (i.e., cabling does not make a difference).I then connect to router port 1 an EZXS55W Linksys switch (using port 1 on the switch and THE CABLE) and then connect my laptop to port 2 on the switch using a second cable. I am unable to connect to the network/internet even after rebooting both the cable modem and router.I then reconnect my study to port 1 on the router, I go to my study and connect the study’s Ethernet jack using THE CABLE to port 1 on the switch and using a second cable from port 2 on the switch to my laptop. …. I get an network/internet connection immediately ! FYI, I have had the exact problem with switches EZXS88W and SE2500 (no longer own this).

I have a Dlink Wireless N Xtreme DIR-655 I have run out of port 4 on it to a switch with a cat 5 patch cable that is 25 ft long It is connected to the Internet port on a Dlink 4 port switch. When i run from that on any of the 4 ports back to my computer ( Win7). I get no internet access but if i connect the cable straight from the router there is no problem. I even attempted to use a older dlink router for the switches and no luck there at all. Any reason the internet would not be broadcasting through the switch.

I have a small network using a 24 port 3750 switch. I need to add five computers in another room and only have one Cat 6 cable running there and no room left on the 3750. I got a 3650 to put in the new room with the new computers. The problem is, whenever I plug the new switch into the 3750, it shuts down the port and gives me an err-disable. I can do a shut/no shut and re-enable the port. I searched the web and read about trunking and clusters. I'm not sure which, if either, is appropriate. I see various documentation that shows you can put one switch behind the other. But nothing tells me the configuration which will allow it.

I need to use a 3750 switch running 12.2 code to route between two networks in a test setup.Switch#sh verCisco IOS Software, C3750 Software (C3750-IPSERVICES-M), Version 12.2(25)SEE2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)Copyright (c) 1986-2006 by Cisco Systems, Inc. The idea for the test setup is 3750 emulates a client's live network which is two routers having a site-to-site tunnel connecting from their ISPs. This will allow me to test the tunnel configuration with the router configs that are in production but replacing one of the routers with an ASA.

I am writting in response to MAB issue which I noticed a few days ago and I am still not able to undestand what exactly happend. First of all I would like to say that I configured MAB authentication and according to the MAC the ISE configure a VLAN. All worked well: the test computer can change VLAN based on its MAC. The problem appear when I cut the connection to ISE server. Accourding to configuration the switch authorize the new device to VLAN 11 (critical VLAN) That is fine ! When the ISE server is up again I had a configuration which should reauthorize all ports assign in critical VLAN. But why that is not happend ??? It looks as the switch didn't notice that the RADIUS (ISE) was up and working again. [code]

We have a current 3-stack 3750 ( 48-P,48-TS & 3750v2-48PS ) running fine. There is a plan to introduce a fourth stack member ( 3750X-48P ) into this stack.as per cisco documentation, it suggests to use 3750X as master for a mixed stack. In this case, we will need to upgrade current other 3 stack switches to a latest version.,Can we do a no-downtime ios upgrade on the existing 3-switch stack?, when this upgrade is done, is there any way to have the new ios pushed down to all three stack members at the same time or do we need to each member upgrade seperately?, for adding the fourth member, is it acceptable if master is ruuning ver eg. 12.2(55) and all rest of the members run ver 12.2(53) ? will this create any issues and will stacking be successful.

im trying to move the config from an 3750 to 3750 PoE but without using the PoE options.I have allready download the config with tftp and upload it to the 3750 PoE. Now the new config is stored on the PoE switch but some of the old setting are still there. Not sure why, i think the config only overwrite the settings which are in the conf file and the setting which are not in the conf file but enabled on it will stay on the switch. After the upload of the config file I deleted all the config I do not need by hand. They are some settings i can't delete and I don't know why, this are the sittings:
1. each fastethernet port has this option: "no cdp enabled" this entry was no availble on the old switch, is the any possiblity to remove this entry?
2. the same for "no mls qos rewrite ip dscp"
3 and for this one "vlan internal allocation policy ascending"

We are using 3750 switches as WAN router facing the WAN cloud. To configure QoS for its WAN port, should I use 'auto qos voip trust" or treat it like a router port and configure class-maps, policy-maps, and attact service-policy input or output?
Because switches have different queuing and dropping methods than routers, auto qos can generate QoS configs that are considered most appropriate for 3750 switches. However the switch functions as WAN router. Maybe it should be configured using router type of QoS with policy-maps and service-policy?

I replaced an access switch 3750 with a switch 2960. Basically I just copy the whole config of the 3750 to 2960.
The 3750 use AAA, Crypto pki trustpoint TP-self-signed and radius-server host etc.
Now I can only telnet to 2960 but not SSH to it.

We have a 3750 as core switch with critical oracle servers ( production & development ) connected to this. The goal is to have these servers behind a firewall, which is to be done by logically routing the traffic towards the device. Now, we need to connect the 3750 with two juniper srx firewall physically. The oracle server VLAN will be removed from 3750 and same layer 3 vlan will be created in the juniper firewall. How do i connect the 3750 to the two junipers. what configurations will be involved, on a logical basis.
