We have 4x WAP4410N access points 1 AP & 3 Repeaters, this works perfect. The situation at the moment is that the internet connection is plugged in with a cable on the AP but the question is that if it's possible to plug the internet connection into one of the repeaters?
After that are we still able to use the internet over al four access points?

I'm configuring AP in Hreap mode. Objective for me is th have a "plug & play" installation method for HREAP. I configure on HREAP AP, Native VLAN set to 1 and the WLAN and Vlan mapping for the current wlan is set to 1 too. WLC version is 7.0.230.0 and AP version is 12.4(23c)JA4
on my cisco switch (WS-C3560-24PS with 12.2(55)SE1), the port configuration is as below:
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 45
switchport trunk allowed vlan 45,74
switchport mode trunk
no logging event link-status
no logging event power-inline-status
no snmp trap link-status
spanning-tree portfast trunk
spanning-tree bpduguard enable
AP receives a DHCP IP in Vlan 45 and users connected in vlan 45 too. I would like to undestand why the AP is working properly because normally vlan 1 is not configured as allowed vlan on my switch and the native vlan is dedicated only to untagged ethernet packet.

I bought an EA 3500 refurbished through linksys. I can't configurate it using the CD-Rom. Always said "can't find your router". So I flash with the classic firmware, and it fixs the problem and automatically upgrade to smart Wi-Fi. That being said, whenever I plug in a portable hard drive, the router disconnect from internet after a minute. I tried my seagate HDD and also my flash driver. Both Lost internet after a minute or so. So I think it is probably the router's problem.

we have some (2) HP Notebooks with a Broadcon 4313 b/g/n WLAN Chip and use the latest drivers (2012). This Chip can provide up to 72 mbit/s with 2,4 ghz.
If we connect this notebooks to a Aironet 2600 AP (10 feet distance) the Windows 7 WLAN Dialog shows 72 Mbit/s for 3 seconds and than only 5.5 Mbit. Others (newer) Laptops show 450 Mbit. The WLAN works with WPA2/AES and PSK. The speed doesn't go up, if we copy a big file to the laptop.
Here is the Linktest from the AP to Client (from the WLC 2504 Webinterface):

We have recently deployed Cisco APs (2600 series) in our org. but we are facing alot of bandwidth/speed issues. when a single user is copying or pasting any data into the network, the speed seems ok, but when multiple-users start copying data , so the data-rate speed gets slower and slower as the users are increasing.
Can any one tell me what is the issue? Why the internal data rate speed gets shared between users? i think each user should bydefault get any specific data rate speed, but that is what not happening on our end.

I have a couple of 2600 APs (external antenna) which are getting PoE from my switch but no ethernet. This is happening on both APs. If I connect a laptop to the (cat5e) cable I get ethernet. If i move the AP to another patch lead adjacent to my switch I get ethernet connectivity too. So, change the cable is the answer I thought, however I have exactly the same issue on both APs and each ethernet cable has been reterminated a number of times (straight through). I wonder is the 2600 AP less tolerant to the actual ethernet cable ?
I just swap the cable, however the patch leads have been run (only 15m or so) and have been replaced once - relaying again is not an easy job. It's more a case of reterminating the cable that is already there and as I've already done this a few times on each patch lead and the results are the same each time I'm thinking I'm missing something obvious.

My question relates to how many clients can be connected to a 2600 series AP. The documentation states 200 clients per radio and the AP has three radios. However when my AP gets to 200 it rejects further clients with the following log: [code] I see this exact message many times and each time the radio mac address is the same and the number of clients connected is 199. The same mac address is used for both 2.4ghz and 5ghz so does this AP have a single logical radio covering both 2.4 and 5ghz frequency ranges and is the limit for all connected clients 200?When viewing the AP details under the Wireless tab it only lists one mac address for each AP for both 2.4ghz and 5ghz frequencies.

What is the maximum throughput of a 2600 AP when using CLient Link 2.0. I see that the datasheet states that it is 450mbps, however, from my understanding of transmit beamforming (client link 2.0), when traffic is "beamformed" to a client it cannot use spatial multiplexing on the same antenna as well. If this is the case, with the 2600 only having 3 transmit antennas, does this mean that the max throughput to a client when using clientlink is 300mb ?
If not, how the AP transmit at 450mbps and beamforms at the same time.

I get the following errors when a new 2600 series AP tries to join a 5500 series WLC:
*Apr 10 11:44:52.747: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: Go join a capwap controller
*Apr 10 11:44:53.000: %CAPWAP-5-DTLSREQSEND: DTLS connection request sent peer_ip: 10.0.0.9 peer_port: 5246
[Code].....
10.0.0.9 is the management interface IP of the WLC. The primary-base is set manually due to the fact that we have several WLCs in place but only 1 is s 5500 series. The other ones are 4400 series WLCs. The new 2600 APs only can join a 5500 WLC afaik. The WLC runs 7.4.100.0

But i also read for example in ap 2600 specs that it support maximum 200 connections per radio. So for example in a conference room (10mx5meter) for 150 users in theory can i have just on Ap2600 for web surfing or i should have 3?

I have never worked on wireless in a standalone mode, so this is the first time i will be doing it.

Now I'm in the home stretch here trying to figure out how to authenticate clients to active directory 2003.I have followed a really good guide on setting up the windows 2003 CA server and have got my certificates installed ok on the controller. It looks as though I have to install the client certificate on each client laptop?? Is there a method other than client certificates with active directory?

I've recently purchased a 2504 Wireless controller, and I have 10 2600 APs to deploy. I think I've set up the wireless controller OK - there doesn't seem to be much that needs to be done! But I just can't seem to register an AP onto the system.
Just to briefly outline what I have done, I have connected to the Wireless Controller via terminal emulator and run through the setup, then I have connected OK to the web interface, and I am able to view and amend the controller's configuration. So I have setup a WLAN and thats about it.
Next up I have powered on one of my 2600 APs, and I am able to view it working via terminal emulator again. But I am seeing it continually running the same routine to connect to a controller, and all the time it just fails. Below is what I am seeing.
One thing that I am unsure about is that I am unable to connect to the AP config pages via web browser, using the IP 192.168.0.97 (although it does ping okay). Is that odd?
And the main question - why doesn't the AP connect to the wireless controller? Do the APs need to be authroized on the controller first? If I check the controller's web interface, under Monitor - Statistics - AP Join, I can see the AP listed with Status "Not Joined" but I don't know what I need to do to make it join!

I borrowed my dad's computer while mine was in the shop and it worked fine with a wireless pc card. Well, it had some issues so I reformatted it with a dell xp disc service pack 1. Since then I could not get the netgear ma521 card to pick up any networks. So, I spent a ridiculous amount of time messing with it with no success. I used that card on an identical computer and it worked fine. Still thinking it was a compatibility issue, I bought a linksys g-series card with the same issue. The "link" light never lights up. I'm pretty sure I've installed all the correct drivers. What am I missing? I've also tried reformatting using dell disc with service pack 2 and a factory xp pro disc.

I am evaluating a Cisco wireless solution for our building. The building is occupied by two separate but related companies, which share some basic network infrastructure (some switches, an Internet connection, a DMZ environment), but which have two completely separate "Windows networks" with separate Active Directories. Each of these two networks are placed behind separate Microsoft TMG firewalls, each of whose external NIC are connected to the same DMZ network.
a) Acquire a set of Aironet 2600 APs and a controller, b) establish a BYOD SSID to be share between the two companies and guests, connected to the shared DMZ network, c) establish two additional separate SSIDs - one for each company’s staff, each authenticating against the appropriate AD-environment (incidentally, one is a straight Windows Server 2008 R2 environment with a TMG 2010 firewall and the other uses Windows Essential Business Server, so based on Window Server 2008).
Is that even possible with a single WLC?We are on 3 floors and about 60 people total. I am thinking that we can make do with 5 or 6 APs. Without having looked into it much, the 2500 controller looks good. Agree?

I know that the deployment guide for 2600/3600 access points states that if you have surveyed for a 3600 deployment, you don't need to survey again for a 2600 deployment. As the the 3600 is the higher specification model, is it safe to assume the reverse? I.e. a site survey carried out using 2600 access points is valid for a 3600 deployment, or is this too simplistic?

Currently my solution consist of two 5508 controllers and several non-mesh and few mesh AP (2600) running in flexconnect mode in one single site in europe. Everything is going fine. However there is going to be a new site in Canada. I found some documentation saying that multiple country code is not available for mesh ap. Mesh ap are not going to join controller if multiple country code configured . but all this documentation is regarding version 7.2 and older. Im running version 7.4.100.0 and on configuration guide I don't find anything related to that.
