D-Link DIR-600 :: Globe / World LED Does Not Light?
Mar 22, 2011
I've been using my Router For 2 months now, It's been working properly since. But yesterday, It was left turned ON and the Power and Globe LED's were orange/yellow. As I restarted the router (unplugged, waited for 1 min.) Only the Power LED was green, all the other LED's were OFF.
I recently (Jan 2011) bought a new DLink DIR-600 Router for my home use. It was working excellent for last two months and suddenly last Monday all hell broke loose. I have a WiMax connect and have a POE box. I plugged in the cable from POE box into my router and it used to work fine. But now, the globe indicator on the router box is not turning green. It remains yellow. When I remove the POE cable from router and plug it directly to my laptop, it works fine.
The D-link dir-615 is not working. The modem is working perfect, because its the internet that im using right now (its connected directly to my laptop, so i know its the router for sure) But i want to make the internet on my modem wireless, but the D-link router has the orange globe light turned on (as im typing it still has the light on) and i just dont know whats wrong with it. I have already tried reseting it like 2 times, and it still doesn't work. When i connect my router, all it does is acquire the network address, and it just stays there, so no ip address will be detected... I might just buy a lynksys router, d-link sucks. This router was bought years ago by the way. It hasn't been used since like now.
It isnt the computer, i tried disabling the firewall, and reconnecting, but it just stays in 'renewing ip address' (the same things happen with all of the other computers that try to connect to it in my home) I click on the wireless icon and then on 'support' and next to IP Address it says "Invalid Ip Address"... The globe still remains orange on the router..
I have a DIR 601 with a actiontec GT701D modem. When I shut down my computer the globe on the router goes from green to orange. The modem people say their modems are always on Am I missing something on the DIR601?why?
I have a wireless router (D-Link DIR-625) connected to the modem for our high speed DSL. I have two Brother MFC printers, one is a laser (MFC-9420CN) connected w/ a Cat-5 directly to the router, the other is an ink-jet MFC-6490CN and I would like to use it wireless....but I could connect it to the router if I need to.I have wireless connection to the internet, from my HP 32-bit PC (running Vista-Ultimate), but can not see either of the printers on the network, and cannot print to either. I manually configured both to have an IP within the range of my network, but they still do not work. The problem (I think) could be with the IPCONFIG. (I had no problem last year, but we recently had a few power outages, and now the PC doesn't seem to 'see' any of the printers.) I checked the IPCONFIG. it states 'media disconnected', but I can ping the one wireless printer??? I can not ping the laptop on the network or the laser printer (I confirmed it's ipconfig before pinging).
I know the network card can't be bad, or I couldn't get to the router to access the internet. I also went into the cmd prompt as the administrator and did the /release/renew/all but that didn't work either.
I have a DIR-655 Rev B, in a typical cascaded config: modem > dir-555 > switches & devices, etc.One of the four dir-655 ports is connected to a cheap-o Belink Wifi router which I use as an access point (I only use this because there's one device that only supports WEP). I was debugging a WiFi issue and I pulled the plug on this Belkin just to get it out of the picture. Well, when I did that, EVERYTHING that was connected through the DIR-655 lost connection. (Well, all the wired stuff anyway- not sure about WiFi devices through the DIR-655). I noticed that the port link light for the powered-off device stayed on on the DIR-655. When I unplugged the cable from the DIR-655, everything went back to normal.
So what I'm trying to figure out now is, is this a DIR-655 issue, or is it something screwy with the Belkin? Or Both? I've got to assume that there's some inherent flaw in the DIR-655 that allows something connected to a port to screw up everything that it's hosting.
Just got several of these Cisco WAP121 AP's and today had a nightmare with one of them. On one of our areas with no broadband access we have installed the "Globe Surfer 3+ 3G Router" which incorperates its own Wireless AP.
I needed to get decent wireless access further down the building, so the idea was to use the WAP121 and setup WDS with the Globesurfer. No matter what guides I followed I could not get the WAP121 to talk to the Globe Surfer for internet access.
using the WAP121 and a Third party router ?OR, is this a case that the WAP121 wont work with a 3rd party router ?
I have a Cisco 3560 using ipbasek9 with IP routing enabled for inter VLAN Routing, to exit my network and hit the outside world I have a Cisco RSV 4000 in Gateway mode. I have a number of VLANs set-up but the only one that can access the Internet is the one on the same VLAN as the Router, below is my part of my Switch configuration.
i got CCNA but i feel that it doesn't teach me how to build networks for business and how to chose an network architecture. What is the best way to learn this? Also, what is the best way to learn how to build a wireless network for a company that runs on multiple floors without user losing wifi connectivity when they roam
I have Cisco ASA5520 with a 8.4 code in GNS3. I have a problem pinging to the internet. On the ASA console, I can ping to outside world, but on vpc I cannot ping the outside world. But I can ping the ASA Inside interface and other VLANs, no problem. [code]
I previously asked if I should be concerned that the Internet light on my Linksys E3000 router doesn't light up when I have Internet access. Well recently I had to do a reset and I noticed that during the reset it does in fact light up, but it doesn't come on when the router is done with the reset!
I got 3 new TP-Link WA901ND PoE access points for a wireless network I manage. Right now I'm using the stock injectors that came with them because I need to get adapters still so I can use them with my PoE switch.
Hardware Version: v2 Firmware Build: 3.12.16 Build 120224 Rel.61005n Wireless Mode: Access point Channel: Auto Mode: 11bgn mixed Channel Width: 20/40MHz Max TX: 300MBPs
About a week after getting these units installed and having them work great, I started running into problems. One of the unit's system light was not on, and I could not connect to the access point from my phone, or log into the web interface. I did a soft reboot (unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in) and it seemed to work fine, but then I had the same problem, and soon both units were doing it. I thought i might be pushing the distance limit the stock injectors have, but then I started having the same problem with a unit that is 10 feet from the injector.
I currently use the BEFSR41 router (firmware version 1.04.06). Up until about 10 days ago I had no problem accessing websites affiliated with World of Warcraft [URL].But now, I cannot load any of these sites. Also, when I use the Blizzard Launcher for WoW, the news panel does not load. The game itself, though, loads fine. This is definitely a router issue because when I disconnect the router and connect directly through my cable modem, I can access everything with no problems. These are the only sites my router is blocking. I didn't change any settings on my router so I don't know why it's suddenly blocking things. I reset my router and that didn't work.
Any real world figures for the actual power drawn by the 5015A-EHF SuperMicro system. Obviously it is a 24/7 device so running costs require real consideration. Currently I'm running a 733Mhz Pentium something-or-other Compaq thing with a.couple of Intel pro 1000's, that.pulls about 28 - 30 watts alone so hopefully the supermicro will be close enough!?
I just bought the wireless-g range expander from a computer parts store.... its not brand new, and i don't have the cd. It is picking up the wireless signal and my laptop sees that it is excellent signal strength but it won't connect to it and the "Link" light is red
1 =if its a rev 1c on the sticker that makes it DIR-615_REVC I am assuming
2= suddenly it shut down today yellow power lite , i cycled and nothing i reset then got a request to do a firmware update! I shut it down for a hour cycled and after a few minutes green power lite all my settings were still in place?I would think a reset would wipe this out.Its only 2 years old and would be surprised if its dieing.
I've had major issues connecting to the Internet in the last couple days. I can't think of anything specific that was changed. The lights on the front:
Power light - steady on. Circle/triangle light - flashes at approx once per second. 4-circle light - intermittent quick flashes (but mostly on). Wireless light - COMES ON FOR THREE SECONDS EVERY FIFTEEN SECONDS! All the lights are green.
Dir-655 Hardware A1/a2 Firmware 1.35NA
I tried turning SEP off. No luck. To note, the Internet works when I hard wire a computer through the dir-655.
I have a DIR-615 H/W ver C1.Suddenly everything stopped working. The D-Link light is green and the power light is amber, no other light is up (LAN or Internet).I've try to do a reset, no effect. Can't connect to the router even with a LAN cable (LAN lights stays dead with a working cable and computer plug-in).
The internet connection light is blue, i am assuming this means the device thinks that it is connected. However wired or wireless I can't hit any web pages. When I use the internal tools neither can the device ping any address.
I am using: Firmware 2.00NA DSL modem ATT-Yahoo-SBC (Speedstream 4100 using DHCP)
I am planning to upgrade the firmware to 2.01NA and give that a shot.
-no power light -solid green lights: WAN-L1-L2-L3-L4
tried to go to recovery mode (power on while holding reset switch).....does not work.my search on the internet revealed, that after bad flash, power light still comes on, maybe as orange, maybe blinking, or just blinks once
I successfully linked a DIR-655 (A4, FW:1.21) via WPS.
I then updated the DAP-1522 to FW:1.21 from 1.1.
Things looked great. I then moved it upstairs to my home theater.
Plugged it in and got a blinking power light. Completely unresponsive to either linkage or 192.168.0.50.
I have followed everyone advice listed either here or in Amazons reviews. And from my own experience with similar electronics the flashing power LED is indicative of a "brick".
I have initiated a replacement shipment from amazon. Just wanted to see if anyone had seen this before.
I upgraded the firmware on my wrt54gs this morning and after the upgrade i have a light on the front where it says ( Cisco Systems ) is this anything to worry about?the upgrade was from Ver.3 to Ver.4.Ubuntu 11.04 on a Fujitsu lifebook t4210 tablet pc.in a world of open source who needs windows and gates
I have a WPC54G ver. 2 adapter I am trying to get to work on a thinkpad T22 running W2kPRO with all the SPs and updates installed. The power light comes on, but the link light does not. I am using a Linksys WRT54GS wireless router. The monitor icon shows in the taskbar and when I open it, it says the adapter is inactive. I have tried several time to download and install the driver for the Linksys site. It seems to install OK, but when I go back and check the Drivers tab to verify that the driver version has changed to 3.20.21.0, it is still version 6.0.0.18.
I reseted my router because I couldn't go in the login so now eveything is green except the earth looking thing next.the power it is orange Cause I really need my internet

I am having troubles configuring TL-WR740N. After I connect everything and turned in on, the system Light is ON and the power light is also ON and nothing else. I Connected my laptop to the 1 of 4 LAN ports and the WAN to my modem.
My Dir-615 stopped working some weeks ago and I switched to another router until I had time to look at it. Tonight I checked the ps voltage and it read exactly +5v but just for a test I tried another 5v ps (which tested a little higher) and it worked. The ps that works reads about link +7vdc. Before this the power light came on with the occasional blink but I could't connect.
I have an older rev a DIR-655 that has served me well. Today I finally upgraded my ISP to cable (from a slower DLS connection) to get reasonable speed/price All is working very well but unlike my old DSL modem the internet status light on the DIR-655 blinks very rapidly all the time instead of when traffic is passed. The new modem is a Motorola SB6141,I am running the latest firmware 1.35NA I went through a complete re-setup to see if that would calm the light but no dice there. (the settings arrived at were basically the same for the old Sprint modem) ,Is there something I am missing or is it time to retire the old DIR-655 for something more current.
I have had a Dlink dir 615 for some time now and always had a few issues, but nothing a reboot of the router couldn't solve. This time the problem is persisting, though. The wireless signal keeps blinking and on my laptop it says No internet connection. I've rebooted the router, restored the router, rebooted the modem, and nothing seems to work.
I am trying to light up every port light on a 3750g. There is not anything plugged into them and I would like to know (just for fun) is there a way to make every port light 1 - 48 turn on using a command?
For the past year or so, 5-6 times a day my router's green internet light will turn red, needing a reset... 99% of its usage is through wired connections and this is the only router in my home.

In the past everything was working fine (had same computer connected wireless + wire) never had this disconnection. Now, I have a laptop connected using wireless & desktop wired but this disconnection is becoming so irritating. It is not only that I lose the internet connection, I lose the DSL like (as if the modem is turned off then on) and all my files over the LAN are either lost during transmission or something else.
Have noticed this in almost a regular pattern. About every 3 seconds the internet light whick is blue most of the time will ocassionally flash white then maybe yellow. Does not appear to interupt internet access yet last only a second (at the longest),so don't know if I would notice. Am connected to DSL modem and see no change it its indicator lights,(traffic, collision, lan), when it occurs on the DIR-655. Have three PC's and a network (LAN) printer as well as wireless enabled. BTW is does not matter if wireless is active. What do the different colors mean ?? Blue = Connected White = Yellow =
