D-Link DIR-600 :: WAN Goes Down When Transferring Files Between Pc's Connected To LAN Port

Wan goes down when transferring files between pcs connected to the lan port.It looks like it's running out of resources or something. Passing more than 10GB of data to other pc is a pain in the ass because nobody else can access internet (lan and wireless clients).Filled a support request in local dlink site. No response so far.

I have one machine at office and one at home, both Windows XP SP3, ADSL connection with static IP.On the office machine a have an archive of about 250 GB of files.When i am at home sometimes i need to connect to my office machine, search through those files, maybe preview some, and then download some needed files to my home machine, using a download queue feature is possible.

We have deployed an ACE 4710 and its working perfectly. But the problem is that after I chage the default gateway of the servers I am not able to transfer files from one server to other. Is there any special configuration needs to be done on ACE to achieve this?Other than copy Ping, telnet and everything is working fine from the servers. These servers are in the same subnet & VLAN.

I am using csc-ssm module in Cisco ASA 5520 firewall, with the csc version as 6.3.1172.0. I have a public Ftp server and when i ever i transfer the zipped files more than 50 MB or 70 MB or more than that, it fails. I used to upload by clicking the ftp site and copy past the file to the location. After a certain point of time, the download fails with the below error on the explorer.An error occured copying a file to the FTP server. Make sure tou have permission to put file on the server.Details: The operation timedout

Internet connectivity on my laptop is lost shortly after beginning to upload/download files over the internet to my cloud storage provider. I also lose connectivity when transferring files to or from the laptop within my LAN to a desktop computer connected via wireless router as part of a workgroup. Connectivity is only restored once I restart the laptop or uninstall, then reinstall drivers for my wireless network card. The issue then reoccurs once file transfers begin again.The laptop is running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1. The driver for my Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN internal network adapter are up to date. I have a Linksys WRT610N ver.2 router, and an HP Pavilion dv6500 laptop.

I got a refurbished EA4500 (directly from Cisco) last week. I have been having a few issues, which I have found (not too great) workarounds for. However, the latest issue has me stumped, and is unacceptable.Whenever I am transferring files between 2 computers, I get kind of OK speed (5 MB/s). However, while this transfer happens, no other device can connect to the net. Actually, even trying to go to router home page (192.168.1.1) times out.The clients still say they are connected to the router, but I just can't get anywhere.As soon as the file transfer finishes, everything goes back to normal.EA4500 replaced a WRT54G. Never had any problems with that router. It was such a workhorse. Just needed to upgrade to a n-router.I am on the latest non-cloud firmware.I have reduced the MTU size to 1200. Not sure that matters.

On my moms laptop, (month old Lenovo B570/i3-3230/4GB/W7), when transferring files to my Crucial Gizmo! 16GB USB Drive, it is pretty much impossible to surf the web. Loading websites take 30-60 seconds, it's ridiculous. Is this normal? Her router is Linksys WRT54G. Router is not connected via USB, in fact the Laptop is connected through ethernet cable (not currently using wireless).

During an installation, we plugged a Ruckus wireless bridge (powered by a PoE injector) into G0/0 on the 1941. The port status remained down/down. We then tried connecting it to G0/1. Again, the port status remained down/down. We took another wireless bridge, plugged it into G0/0 and the port changed to up/up status within a few seconds. The same happened when connected to G0/1. Both ports are have speed/duplex set to auto/auto.We took the cable from the first wireless bridge and connected it a 3550 switch, the FastEthernet port went up/up. We then took the cable and connected it to a switchport card (HWIC-4ESW) that was installed in the 1941 router. The port came up/up.We connected to wireless bridge back to G0/0 in the 1941 and manually set the speed/duplex to 1000/full. The link light on the router became illuminated after a few seconds but no console message was displayed (nor did any events appear in the log) and a "show int g0/0" showed the port status as down/down. This was could not be duplicated as this only happened one time The wireless bridges sit atop of a water tower and are connected each via a shielded ethernet cable. The cable that we're having trouble with is cat5e STP and about 310feet in length. I should note that we have not yet swapped the PoE injector but it seams to be functioning properly as power is getting to the wireless bridge and its accessible. Also because if the wireless bridge for some reason didn't come back up after a power cycle it would potentially mean climbing the tower to perform a hard reset. We tried another 1941 with same results however we have not tried another router model to rule out a potential platform issue. Can you recommend any troubleshooting steps to determine why the port status of the gig interfaces on the 1941 don't come up?

I have the DIR-655, Rev. B running 2.07NA firmware, and have a strange problem with my wired clients. I have my primary computer/desktop PC connected via wired connection. I also have several wireless clients (laptop, iPad, iPhones, etc.). All have been performing normally. However, in December I connected a wired weather internet bridge to another ethernet port on the DIR-655.
It functions as it is supposed to, and all other connected devices do as well. But here's the problem - whenever I use the desktop PC (the only other wired connection) to do anything on the internet (mostly just web browsing ... I don't stream media from the internet on it, I don't do torrents....nothing out of the ordinary, and nothing really of high bandwidth), the wired weather bridge cannot communicate with its associated website. This continues as long as I'm using the desktop PC. When I stop using the desktop, the weather bridge resumes normally.
I have researched the weather bridge, and it is simply doing POST transactions (or so I'm told) to the website listening to it. It doesn't wait for acknowledgements or anything...just keeps POSTing updates. I tried reserving an IP for the weather bridge and the desktop, enabling QoS, and prioritizing the weather bridge (100 vs. desktop at 125), but it didn't work. I've tried moving the weather bridge into the DMZ. I'm totally baffled how just using the desktop to browse the internet could completely block the traffic from the weather bridge.
On the weather bridge support site, they suggested that I insure I'm not connected in gigabit speeds from my computer to the router, because in the past that has been known to cause issues on clients not running that speed, but I don't think my desktop is connected in that fashion. According to the settings, it can do 10 or 100, full or half. I have it set to AUTO.

Normally it's fairly straight-forward, but I've never come across this one before.We've got a computer that's connected to the network and has internet access, but cannot access the network drive like the other computers can.The shared drive is found under computer --> network location.The operating system is Windows 7.I've tried disconnecting from the network and reconnecting, and mapping the network drive.

Recently my laptop, which is successfully connected to the wireless network, has failed to recognize shared folders on my desktop and the external hard drive connected to it. Laptop running 7, desktop running XP Pro. 2 days ago it was working fine. Yesterday it stopped working. I have made no changes that I can think of. All of the folders on the desktop and external drive that I want shared are set up for sharing. So, my question is, what do I need to do to again be able to read and write to these folders, especially the ones on the external hard drive. I believe the adjustment has to be made on the desktop, either in the network connections or the file sharing, but the laptop may need adjusted as well.

I have a 1TB hard drive connected to my N600DB that I use as a media server to my kids Xbox... My problem is that I use this drive to back up all my data from my laptop, including movies, pictures and music. I only want to share the movies... I have over 5000 pictures alone so my router never gets to index all the movies I want to share..

I've been using a WRT120N on a local area connection.The WRT120N acts as a gateway and also to connect to the PPOE connection, via a bridged adsl modem.I've noticed that the LAN port 1 was flashing although the network cable was disconnected from the physical port. I've restarted a few times but to no avail as well. Ever since that, I've noticed that connection through cable are unstable and hard.Now, I'm not able to reset or upgrade the router's firmware.Is there any other way to be done so that I can get this router working as normal again.

After setting up my new dir-655 my pc's cannot share any files. I have tried turning off my firewall (kaspersky) although there was no problem with my old router. all pc's are running windows 7 and are on the homegroup.I can see all the pc's but cannot share anything.after reading some of the other post I have made sure that WLAN is unchecked.the router version is b1.

What is the config.,which I can suggest my Bandwidth provider,so that my heavy files and small files should be downloaded at the same speed?y problem is that my bandwidth limit is 2 M.B.P.S. but I start getting drops as I start downloaded heavy files like 300 M.B. My Bandwidth provider told me that the only solution is that rate-limit will be increased. But it will be of Higher cost. I have a media/storage pc set up in the living room, with my main pc (actually capable of handling the newer 3d content im getting) in the bedroom. All files are downloaded to the Media center pc. I recently changed the download location to drive D to alleviate stress on the operating system drive. Usually when I wanted to transfer files from the Media center to my pc I would go through computer - network - media - location of file. I have found I can't do this to access drive D on the remote Media. Is there a more efficient way than copying files from drive D to C on media just so I can pull them to my main pc? I have tried copying while in remote and pasting on my main pc desktop. It worked great for a 1kb file, but fails every time at 5gb files.

I recently bought an new router TP-LINK TL-WR842ND. After configuring it I connected it via an cable connection to my PS3. The Internet connection works correct and I'm able to use all network feature on my console.
Then I connected a USB Hard Drive to it USB port and I enabled Media Server feature on the router. I have done steps described here url... but with no results. My PS3 sees the Media Server, but when I open it it shows no files.

This is troubling and I don't know why it is happening. For some odd reason files seemingly related to my DIR-655 are being put in the root directory of my hard drive on my Power Mac G5 running Leopard 10.5.8. Two preference files and a folder named ''D-Link'' and another folder named ''Shareport.''Why is this happening? I have given D-Link/DIR-655 no access to my hard drive.Furthermore, why this is only happening on that machine while my MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.7 is not being ''invaded.''

Ive formatted the sd card, enabled video/image recording, but no files show up on the sd management screen. I tried to select a folder to save the files to from the live video screen, but nothing pops up/opens when I click on the folder button. Everything is set up in the router software. The tuner detects the USB drive as a UPnP device, shows the directories I've set up for media share. If I select an AAC or FLAC file to play, the tuner loads it and plays. If I select an MP3 file, it loads, shows it as 100% buffered -- and hangs. Every time. The other devices on the router's network (wired desktop, wireless laptop, wireless tablet) can load and play the MP3s along with the other file types from the same USB-connected drive. That's why I figure the router isn't causing the problem.

I just purchased two DCS-930L cameras. They are both installed and running fine over wireless. I can view them via a web browser, however, I cannot get D-ViewCam to work. I installed the latest version (3.1.1). As soon as I launch the Main Console it crashes and I get the "Missing or Corrupted Files error code 268435457". I saw the other post in terms of change the display settings on my PC to 1280X768, however, that does not work. I also have User Account Control (UAC) turned off.

I have a server connected to my router with a CAT5. I usually manage the server from my laptop connected to the router via WLAN. I often need to add files to a public folder on the server so it can be dowloaded by my clients when they need them.
