D-Link DIR-601 :: DPX2203C - Computability Between TWC And Voip

Aug 12, 2011

I will have to set up my sister in laws wireless router to a Bright House(TWC) internet and Bright house voip.. What I would like to know if others set this combination without issues or is their a compatibility problem? Any router configuration things?

Her modem is a single internet modem and voip box combined(see subject).. Besides the cable input there are two jacks for telephone and one for Ethernet plus power..

I am only guessing but I presume that my router will have to come from the Ethernet to the WAN port or one of the LAN ports..Can some one clarify how this should be wired and if any changes I need to make in the Routers software? Presently I have it working from my house  from my modem(without voip the feature) into the WAN port and it works fine with WPA2 encryption..

I just upgraded my DLink DIR655 to WDR4300. My VOIP service has worked for the last 5 years. But with WDR4300, I'm frequently experiencing dropped calls. The call will be cut off every 20 seconds or so. This is really a deal-killer.

D-Link DIR-615 :: Cannot Use A VoIP Application?

Dec 9, 2010

I have a Voip application on my Windows Vista Home Premium. It is called Reliance iCall. I was not able to call from this application for a few months and so i thought there was something wrong with it. But just yesterday i thought of connecting my modem directly to the desktop and the call went through without any problem. It is only when i connect modem to computer through router that this application does not does not do anything.

What could be in this router that is blocking the calls from making a connection? There is also no setting to configure in this VoIP application. I dont know what to do. And also dont want to keep on switching modem's ethernet cable from router to computer and back.

D-Link DIR-601 :: Not Working On Quake 3 Or VOIP?

Jan 3, 2010

I just bought the Dir-601 router and so far it is fast and stable. However, I haven't been able to get it to work on Quake 3 (no connection to the Master server) or VOIP using the Linkysys Pap2 voip adapter.  I tried setting it up using the predefined port forwarding rules to no avails. I tried port forwarding certain ports and even using DMZ but also without success.  For some reasons, the router is preventing my computer to connect to any online server.

D-Link DIR-825 :: Can't Get VOIP ATA To Work Properly

Aug 18, 2012

I can't get my VOIP ATA (linksys SPA-2102) to work properly with the shiny new DIR-835. I updated the firmware to 1.02 and messed around with various settings but it just won't work. Well, I can get registered and everything looks ok but, when I receive a call, the person at the other end can't hear me. I can hear them fine, but they can't hear me. I don't have any problem when I call someone. Still, it is frustrating. The problem persist even though I put the ATA in the DMZ.

D-Link DIR-825 :: VOIP Behind Router Does Not Work

Aug 8, 2009

I have a DIR-825 since a couple of days, Hardware version B1, firmware 2.01EU  (date Fri, 12, Jun, 2009 = latest european firmware) Have portforwarding for ports 25, 80, 443, 143, 993 via virtual server to a local linux server (192.168.0.3)

My (SIP protocol) VOIP phone (192.168.0.100) does not work anymore since I use this router.  It worked fine on my old WRT54G.  The phone logs-in normally at the voip provider but when I make a call, it seems that the ports are not forwarded or are blocked by the firewall.  I have tried to manually setup portforwarding and virtual server instead of portforwarding.

I have tried many things, from disabling QOS, SPI, end point filtering and more but it does not work.  I have also programmed DMZ for my ip-phone, but it does not work. Nothing found in the logfiles about frame drops. (I have setup a syslog on my linux-server)

There seems to be a bug causing frames dropped, as my setup has always worked with my WRT54, and should work with DMZ set, but it does not.  The same setup works fine on a DIR-655 of a friend.

D-Link :: DIR 615 - Comcast Thomson Modem With VOIP

May 28, 2010

Life was great with my DIR-615 and Motorola Surf Board SB-5100 cable modem, but my D-Link refuses to recognize the Internet signal from the Thomson.  The Comcast guy spent an hour trying to get it to work, but I'm stuck watching MLB.tv on a 24" monitor in a stiff office chair in my study, instead of on a 47" LCD in my living room.  How can I force the DIR-615 to accept the Thomson ACG905?  If you advise me to check settings or manually change them, please do not "assume" that I know how to access those settings.

RE: Voice SIP Account Phone Number Not Accepting 2 Characters My ISP TPG VoIP SIP account phone number is my TPG username rather than an actual normal telephone number. When I enter my 2 characters TPG username 'xx' as my TPG VoIP SIP account phone number as the 'Phone Number' field in the 'Voice - SIP Account' modem router management page on the LAN IP 192.168.1.1, then I press the 'Save' button, I encounter the error message "The length of 'Phone Number' is out of range[3,32]."I believe this error is due to my TPG SIP account Phone Number’ is not within the TD-VG3631 ‘Phone Number’ character length range from 3 to 32 inclusive. My old modem can register to my TPG VoIP account successfully with my TPG username 'xx' as the VoIP SIP account phone number.

I have contacted my ISP TPG and tried to get an actual VoIP SIP phone number. However, TPG does not provide an actual VoIP SIP phone number to their customers. TPG states I should use my TPG username as my VoIP SIP account phone number. They ask me to contact TP-Link to resolve the aforementioned error. Is there a way I can enter only 2 character TPG username as my VoIP SIP account phone number in the browser management page of the modem router? i.e. workaround, request TP-Link for a new firmware fix or else?

I can successfully make and receive VoIP calls via a Cisco SPA 303 IP phone, my iPhone 4S and a sogtphone on my MacBook PRO, using both DrayTEL and Sipgate as ITSPs. The Cisco phone is one of seven connected through the 3CX PBX software; but the iPhonne and the MacBook bypass the PBX and connect directly to the ITSP via the TP-Link router and the staellite modem. However, when I try to make or recive a second (simultaneous) call, both calls start breaking up.This happens both with the Cisco phones and with the iPhone and MacBook; so it's not a problem with the Cisco phone or with the 3CX soft PBX, since neither of these is involved when using the iPhone and the MacBook.I have tried various port forwarding configurations over the last few weeks, but still the problem persists. The current forwarding arrangement is ports 5060-5080 and 5090 and 9000-9049 for the PC running the 3CX software, and ports 5160-5180 for the MacBook. The iPhone has sipgate.co.uk set as both the Local and the External PBX IP, and the PBX port is 5060. The Local SIP port is 5964 and the Fisrt RTP port is 4000.

D-Link DIR-601 :: Firmware Up Gradation Result In Breaking Of VoIP Service

May 8, 2011

Last week I upgraded the firmware in my D LINK DIR-601 from 1.01NA to 1.02NA.  This resulted in breaking my VoIP service (causing one-way audio on incoming calls - callers could hear me but I could not hear them).  I am using a SIP-based service from Speakeasy (Broad soft) with a Cisco 504G phone.  Once I downgraded the router back to 1.01NA, the service started working again.

I don't know if anybody else has reported an SIP-related issues with this firmware.

TP-Link ADSL2+ Wireless :: TD-W8961NB Port Forwarding (voip) Not Working

Jan 8, 2013

Region : Greece
Model : TD-W8961NB
Hardware Version : V2
Firmware Version : 2.0.0 120823
ISP : otenet

The problem is that the voip is not working. I have 2 offices with adsl connection. A is the central office and B is the branch office. The installation is old with deferent ADSL modem-router(Zyxel). The zyxel at the A office was damaged so i had to change it with Tp-link. The potology with ip and cables is the same. I tested the port forward for voip (port 1720) with telnet from outside of the office and responds correct. When i try to call from the A office to B office it seems that i can not connect. When i call from B office to A office the phone is ringing and i can not hear office B but office B hear office A. When i use the old modem router at the office A everything is working fine but the modem-router works just for a while so i have to change it. I closed the firewall but the problem is still the same. I talked with the local distributor and they tolded me that i have to correct the configuration. At the interface setup is chosen the dynamic at the section get ip and not static as i should do. The is a problem there. The configuration asks me the subnet mask and gateway. I do not know the subnet mask and either the local distributor and the local internet provider cannot assist. The internet provider told me to use at the subnet mask 255.255.255.240 and at the gateway the ip of the router. I did that but when i did i lost the internet connection. I have to mention that i make some other port forwards to my SBS2003 server and like remote desktop, vpn connections and https that works fine. The only prolbem is with the vpn port forwarding.

On the other hand, the list apparently hasn't been updated in a year and a half.

Cisco :: Configuring 2960 For VoIP?

Mar 26, 2012

We just purchased cisco 2960 for our VoIP needs and we are using polycom phones, and Phone and Computer will use same port. Since Polycom phones are capable working with CDP protocol and we are hoping to get another switch to expand VoIP network. I found easiest way of setting up each port is as following (from the cisco tutorial)

Switch#configure terminal
Switch(config)#mls qos
Switch(config)#interface fastethernet 0/1
Switch(config-if)#mls qos trust cos
Switch(config-if)#switchport voice vlan dot1p
Switch(config-if)#switchport voice vlan 10
Switch(config-if)#switchport mode access
Switch(config-if)#switchport access vlan 20
Switch(config-if)#exit

My first question, when we are using switchport voice vlan dot1p ,I thought we instruct the switch port to use 802.1P priority tagging for voice traffic and to use the default native VLAN (VLAN 0) to carry all traffic.Do I still need to create a Vlan 20 for data and Vlan 10 for voice ?

Secondly, same tutorial adds these commands as well,Do you think for our set up, using those commands are feasible ?

Switch(config-if)#switchport priority extend trust
Switch(config-if)#priority-queue out
Switch(config-if)#spanning-tree portfast
Switch(config-if)#spanning-tree bpduguard enable
Switch(config-if)#exit

Thirdly, when we get another switch and do the same configuration for the second switch, can I use any port on Switch 1 as uplink without doing any configuration ?

Cable Modem That Supports VOIP?

Feb 5, 2012

If one has internet and phone service through Cable, I know you can buy your own modems and routers, but is there a particular kind of modem you'd need to get to support VOIP for the phone?

A friend of mine has phone through Cable and her internet and phone suddenly stopped working, although her TV service is fine. We are thinking that maybe the cable company's modem is bad, so she wants to buy her own modem, but we're not sure if it needs to be a particular type of modem. I've looked around for her, but haven't found anything in modem specs stating they support VOIP. Does it matter? Or can you buy any cable modem?

We already looked at the cable providers website to see their supported modems, but they are all the same brand as the one she has that doesn't work. She already has a wireless router, which she will plug into the modem she buys, so we're only looking for answers regaring a modem.

VoIP / IP CCTV PoE Switch Recommendation?

Apr 6, 2012

recommendation for a PoE-compliant (802.3af) 10/100 ethernet switch suited for the following use. A client wants a separate [from their data] network dedicated to their new IP CCTV/IP Intercomm system (Stentofon ISO5 Cleanroom Certified). Total of 15 devices, all of which support PoE, 11 of which require it. The intercomm system will be the primary method of communication with personnel inside the clean space, so it must have minimum downtime.

1) 16x RJ45 (Only 15 devices -- anything over 16 ports is waste, SFP/expansion/combo ports not required)

2) *All* ports 802.3af PoE compliant, approx 5W load.

3) 10/100 (Gigabit not necessary, there's only 2 cameras and voice traffic is compressed)

4) Prefer rackmount but not necessary

5) Prefer Cisco/Cisco SB simply because I trust 'em (have an IAD and switch going strong for years with no downtime )
