For some reason, handheld devices cannot connect to our wireless dlink router. However, our HP laptop has no issue with connecting. Regardless of the make and model, no one else can connect at our home.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a D-Link DIR-652 router, and I can see that it is broadcasting but I cannot connect through my laptop, tablet, or phone. Sometimes it will let me connect but other times it says it is unable to. I can connect when I plug into the router through a cable. I'm doing that now, and I did an ipconfig/all in case to see that:

I have the firmware 2.10NA. In my home we have about 4 laptops and 4 smartphones connecting to this router wirelessly and 3 of the laptops often lose connection for hours. We have tried unplugging the router and plugging it in again and factory reset and also resetting it through the IP address but the connection doesnt come back. Recently it has gone out for about 3 hours now. Also the wireless LED icon on the router constantly blinks is this normal? On the laptops where theres no connection it says limited connectivity. Is it possible that there is too many devices connected to the router or something. or could this be a problem with the laptops and not the router?

I want to add more users to my home network and I couldn't, at this moment I only can connect 8 devices (12 devices at least) when I try to connect the next one its impossible, but if I take off one of the connected devices then the router allows to connect the new one.How can I connect more than 8 devices to my router ? (wireless)Also, is there any limits with Wireless MAC Address Filter ? because I can't add more than 8 MAC addresses in my old router I could do that.
In my device I am able to browse through & connect to my HOME wifi network ; But after connecting it says 'No Internet Access'.I tried connecting with my SONY Bluray , iphone , ipad , laptops -- everywhere same story.I am able to plug in the ethernet cable directly from modem & able to connect to network.I am not able to open the http://192.168.0.1 -- ( When I am plugged in the modem directly)

i have had a DIR-655 Rev. A router for years now and had no problems connecting my laptop to it well over 150m, the iproducts never got over 65m, i'm OK with that if they just won't but i would like to get there if possible. i went out and picked up a 2nd 655 (rev B) and flashed the bios up to the newest version 2.03NA and went in and mirrored all of the settings from the original router and then replaced the old router with the new one. the old router is not being used at this time though there are plans to use it as an access point later in another part of the house. i have updated the drivers for the wireless N card on my laptop (i can't remember the name of the adapter or the model, i'll provide that when i go home for lunch today). i've tried various settings for security, (i want to use WPA2 only, personal key, AES cipher, channel width 20/40 auto) i've even tried no security and it still won't connect over 65m.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just switched to a new internet provider (UnityMedia in Germany) and they provided me with a CISCO cable modem (EPC3208G) and a 'wireless N 150 Home Router DIR-600' (hardware Bx and firmware 2.13). I had to ring the service desk to complete set up. I was told to connect the LAN cable (from the modem) into LAN number 1 rather than 'internet' (in the router). I was also told to change the router IP address to 192.168.0.2. Thereafter the connection to the internet was established (they also asked me to make some other changes which I can no longer recall). However after the phone call with the D-link service desk I attempted to connect my other internet enabled devices (kindle, internet radio and smartphone) and apart from one other laptop nothing can connect to the internet.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am currently having issues with the dhcp function on my DIR-615. The issue is some of my devices are never able to connect unless I set them up with static ip. Some of my devices are sometimes able to connect using DHCP but sometimes need to be set up with a static IP. In the log it says something along the lines of "sent out offer for IP 192.168.0.XXX" but the devices never receives the IP. The firmware says it is up to date. The hardware version is C1. Some of the devices having issues are PC's some are Macbooks and some are iphone and ipods. I'm not sure if it is related but when I look at who is using WAN some of the pc's who are connected to the internet have an ip address of 0.0.0.0.

Until 2 to days ago, my brother told me that he can't conlnect to the wi-fi. I said that its working just fine and told him to just reset his phone. And then, my sister also told me that she can't connect too. I checked their devices like iPhone 4S and iTouch and it says "Unable to join the network....... Also phones of my friends can't connect also. It was just working fine. I haven't changed anything on the router's configuration. I already reset the router, unplug then plug it and its still not working. The router is connected to my laptop and I can still browse the internet. Its the wireless connection that is not.

After a router push button reset 7 reconfigure, only the windows vista and a samsung tablet will connect. The windows 7 computer sees the router but cannot see the internet. It does connect if hardwired thru the router.

Some streaming HDTV content to other devices in other rooms. I'm thinking of the following:
-DIR-655 routing between the DSL subnet to the internet, the 2.4GHz wireless and a couple of wired devices.
-DAP-1522 routing between the 2.4GHz wireless, 5GHz wireless, and a few wired devices.
-DAP-1522 bridging between the 5GHz wireless and a few wired devices.
All devices will/may need internet access.HDTV content would be between wired devices and only over the 5GHz wireless (no HDTV to/from internet).Is the DAP-1522 the right device(s) for this?
I have deployed a Cisco wireless environment at one of our sites. The problem is that we are rolling out new motorola handhelds (MC75) are not authenticating with the ACS. I have copied the same config as it was with the exsisting wireless that was installed. Funny thing is we have another set of motorola handhelds (MC70) all use the same certificates and can authenticate without any issues.When i look at the ACS for logs I get the following error; EAP-TLS or PEAP authentication failed during SSL handshake.
View 6 Replies View RelatedThree weeks ago I moved all the APs at one of our sites from WISMs (running 5.2.193) over to a pair of 5508s (running 7.0.220) and everything appeared to be fine through testing and implementation. We've got about 400 devices on this network and almost everything is working without issue, except for about 10 Honeywell Dolphin hand-held scanners that our distribution department uses. On occasion when the users go to use them, even when sitting 15 feet from an AP, the device will kick out an error that the "wireless network was not found - please move closer to an access point or return to cradle".
As much as I would love to say it's a device issue, they said the problem started the same day I moved the APs to the new controllers (they gave me the date they started experiencing the issue, I was able to link that back to the date I made the move). They worked without issue on the old controllers / code and, for the most part, both old and new controllers are configured similarly (except for enabling a few new feature that the new code supports like client-link and band-select). These are b/g clients and I did diable all .11b data rates when moving to the new controller. Also, this happens in multiple locations, not just in the receiving / distribution area.
Lastly, I'm at my wit's end on this. The issue is totally random and when they are having an issue I can't even see the device trying to connect (by debugging the client on the controller). One suggestion I've made is that we may need to upgrade the device firmware, but I'm not sure why it would work with the old controllers and not the new. I guess the worst case scenario is that I can move the couple APs they have in the receiving area back to the old controllers to see if the issue continues.
The problem that I'm having is basically that my router isn't giving right ip addresses to my devices. I've tried to connect a wireless printer (HP for doubts) and the router gave a 169.254.XXX.XXX ip address to it. If I unplug/plug the router, the problem is solved. It can also be fixed by using the "reboot device" tool that the router has at the configuration page. But this only works for some hours, so it isn't
Now, it isn't a printer problem. It has also happened with some notebooks, with around 5 to 6, not all of them. I've tried changing channels, resetting the router, changing password, security password type, changing firmware (present is 3.11NA H/W C2), and nothing can fix it.
I have a 2125 WLC. I have some 1242 Access Point registered to the WLC. The problem is that the handheld connects to the WLC but sometimes it shows that it has lost wireless signal. Users say that this happens when they go from one site to another. I go to that specific site with my AirMagnet tool and it shows full signal. The customer is saying that WLC is not working with roaming properly.
The handheld is a Dolphin 7900.
How many devices can my century link modem/router handle? i have 2 iphone 4s's a Mac and 2 ps3's is this to much for it? i have a desktop pc that stays wired in.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden my laptop, android phone and blu ray player (all wireless devices) can't communicate with my wired devices (marantz receiver and samsung tv). Everything still connects to the internet independently but i can't for instance play music from my wireless laptop to my wired marantz receiver. I had no trouble with this last week and didn't change anything (that I'm aware of) I did get Verizon to switch out my router but it didn't solve anything. My wife's computer also cannot connect to wired devices. Lastly, if I connect my laptop with via ethernet cable it sees wired devices fine. I tried shutting off windows firewall but didn't work. I have no other firewall/virus software installed. I can ping to all devices (wired and wireless) from my laptop.

When I go into my router and check Wireless Status to see connected devices the window is empty. Usually if I reboot my router some of my devices will connect but if I leave them idle for any amount of time the connection is dropped. Suggestions. I have since purchased a cheap ethernet switch from ebay and plugged this into the power adaptor connection next to my ps3, sky hd+ and samsung smart tv downstairs. I thought by connecting these 3 devices to the switch (which is connected to the duvelo adaptor) I could have all 3 devices simultaneously connected online. However, I still can only have 1 ethernet cable in the switch at once and hence only connect 1 device at a time.

But I could connect to the router and other devices, and another computer on the same router could connect to the internet. I use OpenDNS and started getting weird messages about my IP address being used by another user. I changed back to the ISP's DNS but it did not cure. In the end I used system restore back a couple of days and now all is well

I am also using 3 of the 4 ethernet ports for wired devices (main PC, NAS drive and Dish Network net access). I have another PC and a printer connected wirelessly to the router.Now, with my modem going bad, CenturyLink has provided a combo modem/router (EQ660DR-F1) to be used in place of my Linksys router/modem, providing wired, wireless and modem capabilities in one.My problem is that the new router/modem has only one ethernet port along with a DSL port. Obviously, I can connect my main PC to the ethernet port, DSL to the modem port and connect my 2nd PC and printer wirelessly as they are now. Now, I run an Ethernet cord from the router to my computer: the computer works just fine. As of a day ago, though, none of the home's Apple devices will connect to the network, despite reboots, password retypes, and shouting at them. View 3 Replies View RelatedJust installed a Linksys N750 (EA3500) router (WAN - LAN setup). I settled both band networks : 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz with different SSID and different WAP2/WAP personal mixt. WHile some devices will show both networks correctly, I'm facing issues with the 5Ghz band and wonder if this is sigh of some kind of failure:
- while my iPad offered both signals and let me set the 5 Ghz band, it is showing weak signal and stall on loading webpages; as soon as I instead put it on the 2.4Ghz band, (standing at same location of course), everything runs smoothly, excellent signal.
- I have a Mac Mini and PS3 side by side same location. The Mac Mini seems to works flawlessly under both bands, 2.4 or 5 - excellent signal. However, the PS3 fails its connexion test and states that signal is not perceptible on the 5Ghz. But connect as a snap on the 2.4 Ghz band.
- Got on and off 5Ghz signal on a laptop; connected to 2.4Ghz, everything runs perfect.
- iPhones 4S : I don't even see the 5Ghz SSID, but I get both the 2.4 and Guess account..So I'm tempted to conclude that some devices just can't follow the pace (??) to connect on 5Ghz..
I've been using a WRT160N for a couple of years now with no problems with any of my devices. I have a couple of certain devices (a DS and a PSP mainly) that utilize 802.11b and have been working perfectly up until now.
All of a sudden it seems like the router has decided all by itself to no longer allow 802.11b devices to connect to it, despite it being configured in mixed mode. (b/g/N) I've tried tinkering around with it, switching between Mixed and BG-Mixed, changing the channel to something more common and restarting the router, but I can't connect at all on these devices.Model: Cisco Linksys WRT160N v3.Firmware version: 3.0.03.
I just installed a WRT320N for someone's home network, with the intent of providing better speed for network printing.
Unfortunately, all four of his n-capable Windows computers will only connect at 54mbps. Four different computers (Win7, Vista, XP), each with a different brand/model of n-capable network adapter.
I suppose I could try setting the wireless to n-only instead of "mixed". However, he's got a couple g-only devices as well, so that wouldn't work.
I tried updating the firmware to latest/greatest - no effect.
I was requested to connect 2 WRT54G devices in our network with same ip range.
