View 4 RepliesI bought a Westell 7500 router off ebay to replace the same router provided by century link as I was trying to avoid rental fees. My computer recognizes there is a signal, but I can't get the internet to connect. Any settings I should change? The router I purchased was configured to at&t service. I have Century link. Century link won't assist me because it isn't their router.

I have internet thru Century Link (DSL). I also have a Netgear N-300 wireless router. My computer is 4 years old and is an HP with a G wireless adapter buit-in. Until yesterday, my provided internet speed was up to 7mbps. I received the same speed regardless of whether my computer was plugged in directly to the modem (1), plugged directly into the router (2), or wirelessly. We just upgraded our internet to 40mbps. Now, I get the 40 mbps when my computer is plugged into the modem or router, but wirelessly I only get about 4 mbps, 1/10th of what I get with wired.

I just bought a DCS-2130 for outdoor use (city landscape through my window in the nineteenth floor), and I'm trying to get it work during the daylight, but I'm having some problems. It seems like this camera can't handle direct sunlight, and in these situations the image gets blurry, even when I set the exposure to auto with max of 0dB in setup menu. Simply there's nothing I can do in this options menu to solve this problem. As the day passes by (and the sunlight gets weaker), the image gets better 'til the night, when it's perfect. What I need to know is if there is any way to setup it properly for daylight use. Is there possible to setup these exposure parameteres some other way, like editing an .ini file or something like that? Or this expensive camera simply can't handle this?
View 7 Replies View RelatedThe problem that I'm having is basically that my router isn't giving right ip addresses to my devices. I've tried to connect a wireless printer (HP for doubts) and the router gave a 169.254.XXX.XXX ip address to it. If I unplug/plug the router, the problem is solved. It can also be fixed by using the "reboot device" tool that the router has at the configuration page. But this only works for some hours, so it isn't
Now, it isn't a printer problem. It has also happened with some notebooks, with around 5 to 6, not all of them. I've tried changing channels, resetting the router, changing password, security password type, changing firmware (present is 3.11NA H/W C2), and nothing can fix it.
I have a D-Link DIR-652 router, and I can see that it is broadcasting but I cannot connect through my laptop, tablet, or phone. Sometimes it will let me connect but other times it says it is unable to. I can connect when I plug into the router through a cable. I'm doing that now, and I did an ipconfig/all in case to see that:

Recently it has gone out for about 3 hours now. Also the wireless LED icon on the router constantly blinks is this normal? On the laptops where theres no connection it says limited connectivity. Is it possible that there is too many devices connected to the router or something. or could this be a problem with the laptops and not the router?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo a BT home hub is a very cheap router, so it seems. And - if you connect a quite a lot of eq to this router, it starts crashing. "It can't handle the traffic.". But what does that mean? Why can it handle the traffic for a while and after a few days it can't anymore. And lets say - some of the eq doesn't really work on the external network, it works on the internal network, and it doesn't need the internet to work for proper functionality. So - what is important then? Which specifications are the important ones?

I want to add more users to my home network and I couldn't, at this moment I only can connect 8 devices (12 devices at least) when I try to connect the next one its impossible, but if I take off one of the connected devices then the router allows to connect the new one.How can I connect more than 8 devices to my router ? I have a bandwidth-intensive video conferencing device connected to a router. I have forwarded all the necessary ports to the device (and I have even tried DMZ) but the device is unable to connect to some servers due to "NAT issues". The device uses lots of ports simultaneously to connect and I am wondering maybe possibly the router can not handle the number of open ports. The ISP only blocks port 25 which the device does not use. Could it be that the ISP limits the number of ports that are in use? Or maybe the ISP limits the amount of bandwidth that can pass through certain ports?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL? Cable (link speed independent of internet speed)What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router? Separate Motorola ((link speed independent of modem)What ISP Modem make and model do you have? Does not matter, router issue. If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems. To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged. Not bridged
Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic. Independent of issue, not a factor
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing. Wired works perfect.Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. Cat6 is recommended. Wireless issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis has been happening for about the last two weeks now. Before we never had any problems. So now all wireless devices keep on getting disconnected almost daily.
I have a laptop, 2 Iphones, an Xbox 360, and a Xoom Tablet that keep getting disconnected. The Desktop, which is directly connected to the router via a cable is fine and never gets dropped.
I tried changing channels, and wireless mode is now G only. Still keep getting dropped.
i have had a DIR-655 Rev. A router for years now and had no problems connecting my laptop to it well over 150m, the iproducts never got over 65m, i'm OK with that if they just won't but i would like to get there if possible. i went out and picked up a 2nd 655 (rev B) and flashed the bios up to the newest version 2.03NA and went in and mirrored all of the settings from the original router and then replaced the old router with the new one. the old router is not being used at this time though there are plans to use it as an access point later in another part of the house. i have updated the drivers for the wireless N card on my laptop (i can't remember the name of the adapter or the model, i'll provide that when i go home for lunch today). i've tried various settings for security, (i want to use WPA2 only, personal key, AES cipher, channel width 20/40 auto) i've even tried no security and it still won't connect over 65m.

I had to ring the service desk to complete set up. I was told to connect the LAN cable (from the modem) into LAN number 1 rather than 'internet' (in the router). I was also told to change the router IP address to 192.168.0.2. Thereafter the connection to the internet was established (they also asked me to make some other changes which I can no longer recall). View 5 Replies View RelatedI cannot see my synology NAS from my WDTV Live players (or PS3 or Samsung TV) when the NAS connected directly to one of the 4 GbE ports on the 655 using media server (DLNA) protocol. I've moved the NAS to another location on my network and not directly connected to the 655 and all the other media players see it except for the WD that's connected to one of the ports on the back of the 655. As a work-around, I have set the WD player that's connected to the 655 to use network shares instead of DLNA and this seems to work fine. So, there must be something that the 655 is doing wrt the DLNA protocal that is blocking communications.I have the 655 configured as an access point and have turned off DHCP and every other function that could be causing any issues. I've turned UPNP on and off to see if it resolves the problem, and although it seems to have some bearing on the problem, the issue persists. I also have a DIR-645 also configured as an access point (not connected to the 655) and have the synology NAS connected directly to it and it works just fine. All media players can see the NAS except for the one that's connected to the 655.I've been having this issue for some time now and have worked around it by moving the 655 so it wouldn't be an issue. However, I needed the wireless and gigabit switch capability upstairs and am battling this issue once again. I'd really like to keep the 655 and get this working, but it seems as the 655 is the culprit here.
