I have disabled all antivirus and firewall services on my PC and I can't get Shareport icon to turn green and recognize my DIR-655 (Hardware Version A4, 1.21 firmware). I've uninstalled the Shareport software twice. I use AVAST (but all services are disabled).The router setting is set to "USB Network" with a 30 second time out. I'm running WinXP SP3, 802.11G only.

Text prints OK, but photos only print parts then eject the page and print some more psycho garble on the next page....etc...I have done all the uninstall - reinstall drills.... same result.... Just don't understand why it WAS working for a while, and what changed to make it un-work now.... The software looks to be working, but the actual output is foobar....

View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently I bought a Windows 8 (64bits) computer, which is now part of my home network, but it has problems with Shareport. The other computers can be easily connected to a USB printer on my DIR-825 (HW B1) router, but the W8 computer refuses to completely install Shareport (both the CD version and the latest download v1.17). I also tried Shareport-Plus v4.11 (found on the DIR 835 page), which did install correctly, but was still unable to see the USB printer. What can be done? Can D-Link provide a new version of Shareport?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have hardware version B1, firmware version 2.00NA and several computers (wired & wireless) with Vista & Win 7 x64 and a Brother HL1440 printer.When I print something it comes out scrambled, images missing or cut off, empty pages, etc. This same setup worked fine when it was directly into one computer, then shared on the network though windows sharing. The problem was that computer had to be running to print off the network. I got the dir655 since it had printer sharing but so far its not been of any luck.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI realized that when I connect dir825 on bridging mode to my current voip router provided by my ISP (dvg-n5402) ,shareport does not work as it seems to be using the default gateway to find the usb, which in this case default gateway goes to the gateway of my voip router. Is there any way that I can make shareport use the gateway of my dir825 instead?
View 5 Replies View RelatedShareport recognizes the printer only after resetting the DIR-825 router. I don't know if this is a Shareport issue or an issue with the DIR-825 disabling the USB port.This happens after there is no PC connected to the router for a number of hours such as overnight. I have 1 laptop and 1 desktop running Win 7 64-bit and 1 laptop running Win 7 32-bit. The desktop is connected directly to the router and the laptops connect via wifi. All PCs work perfectly when the DIR-825 is reset.This isn't a big issue but it's extremely annoying and shouldn't happen. I use a Cisco WAG320 in my office that has similar USB functionality and this never happens.

View 5 Replies View RelatedFirmware 2.07NA for version B1 units contains two bugs:
1 - An underscore in the Device Name causes a cryptic "37" error to appear when attempting to save any changes to the network settings. Version 2.03 allowed the underscore character. Other invalid characters, such as a "-", generate a more meaningful "Device name given is invalid" message.
Removing any underscores eliminates the error and allows settings to be saved.
2 - The upgrade breaks SharePort communications; the SharePort client utility cannot see the USB port on the device after upgrading from 2.03 to 2.07. This occurs with the latest 3.1.0 R 1 Utility (SXUPTP Driver: 3.4.6.0).
Downgrading back to 2.03 is a workaround.
I setup sharePort today and attached an external 1 TB hard drive. Seems that All my internet connections are slow now. I have a seperate PC that I use VPN to connect to work with and suddenly its very slow. My wife said her laptop suddenly slowed down too. The PC that I installed SharePort software seems slow too. Is/can SharePort be dragging down the router? I turned off the external HD and it's still slow.

It shows connected to the same computer even if I reboot that computer. I started with V1?? from the install disk then tried 3 and finally 4 with no improvement. My lenovo Y580 sees speed drop to 130 immediately and then it can slowly progress to 1 Mbps until the hardware is all rebooted. Same happens to my Nexus 7, Dell XPS M1530 and to my roku. I have updated to 2.07 (since 2.10 is advised to avoid). And I have attempted changing channels or factory refresh.What Firmware version is currently loaded? 2.07What region are you located?

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic. Independent of issue, not a factor
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing. Wired works perfect.Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. Cat6 is recommended. Wireless issue.
My wired devices can see my wireless devices, and my wireless devices can see my wired devices, but my wireless devices can't see other wireless devices. And by "see", I'm talking about various media servers, like TVersity, PlayOn and Windows Media Center, and by devices, I have two wireless computers, an Xbox, and a DAP-1522 bridge, among others.Is this how the DIR-825 works, or am I missing a setting to allow the wireless devices to see and communicate with each other? Specifically, I'm trying to connect my wireless N Xbox 360 with a wireless N Win 7 Home Pro laptop.

I've tried to connect a wireless printer (HP for doubts) and the router gave a 169.254.XXX.XXX ip address to it. If I unplug/plug the router, the problem is solved. It can also be fixed by using the "reboot device" tool that the router has at the configuration page. But this only works for some hours, so it isn't
Now, it isn't a printer problem. It has also happened with some notebooks, with around 5 to 6, not all of them. I've tried changing channels, resetting the router, changing password, security password type, changing firmware (present is 3.11NA H/W C2), and nothing can fix it.
This has been happening for about the last two weeks now. Before we never had any problems. So now all wireless devices keep on getting disconnected almost daily.
I have a laptop, 2 Iphones, an Xbox 360, and a Xoom Tablet that keep getting disconnected. The Desktop, which is directly connected to the router via a cable is fine and never gets dropped.
I tried changing channels, and wireless mode is now G only. Still keep getting dropped.
i have had a DIR-655 Rev. A router for years now and had no problems connecting my laptop to it well over 150m, the iproducts never got over 65m, i'm OK with that if they just won't but i would like to get there if possible. i went out and picked up a 2nd 655 (rev B) and flashed the bios up to the newest version 2.03NA and went in and mirrored all of the settings from the original router and then replaced the old router with the new one. the old router is not being used at this time though there are plans to use it as an access point later in another part of the house. i have updated the drivers for the wireless N card on my laptop (i can't remember the name of the adapter or the model, i'll provide that when i go home for lunch today). i've tried various settings for security, (i want to use WPA2 only, personal key, AES cipher, channel width 20/40 auto) i've even tried no security and it still won't connect over 65m.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just switched to a new internet provider (UnityMedia in Germany) and they provided me with a CISCO cable modem (EPC3208G) and a 'wireless N 150 Home Router DIR-600' (hardware Bx and firmware 2.13). I had to ring the service desk to complete set up. I was told to connect the LAN cable (from the modem) into LAN number 1 rather than 'internet' (in the router). I was also told to change the router IP address to 192.168.0.2. Thereafter the connection to the internet was established (they also asked me to make some other changes which I can no longer recall). However after the phone call with the D-link service desk I attempted to connect my other internet enabled devices (kindle, internet radio and smartphone) and apart from one other laptop nothing can connect to the internet.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI cannot see my synology NAS from my WDTV Live players (or PS3 or Samsung TV) when the NAS connected directly to one of the 4 GbE ports on the 655 using media server (DLNA) protocol. I've moved the NAS to another location on my network and not directly connected to the 655 and all the other media players see it except for the WD that's connected to one of the ports on the back of the 655. As a work-around, I have set the WD player that's connected to the 655 to use network shares instead of DLNA and this seems to work fine. So, there must be something that the 655 is doing wrt the DLNA protocal that is blocking communications.I have the 655 configured as an access point and have turned off DHCP and every other function that could be causing any issues. I've turned UPNP on and off to see if it resolves the problem, and although it seems to have some bearing on the problem, the issue persists. I also have a DIR-645 also configured as an access point (not connected to the 655) and have the synology NAS connected directly to it and it works just fine. All media players can see the NAS except for the one that's connected to the 655.I've been having this issue for some time now and have worked around it by moving the 655 so it wouldn't be an issue. However, I needed the wireless and gigabit switch capability upstairs and am battling this issue once again. I'd really like to keep the 655 and get this working, but it seems as the 655 is the culprit here.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am currently having issues with the dhcp function on my DIR-615. The issue is some of my devices are never able to connect unless I set them up with static ip. Some of my devices are sometimes able to connect using DHCP but sometimes need to be set up with a static IP. In the log it says something along the lines of "sent out offer for IP 192.168.0.XXX" but the devices never receives the IP. The firmware says it is up to date. The hardware version is C1. Some of the devices having issues are PC's some are Macbooks and some are iphone and ipods. I'm not sure if it is related but when I look at who is using WAN some of the pc's who are connected to the internet have an ip address of 0.0.0.0.

I also with a wireless connection to a Grace internet radio and a DAP 1522 (with the latest firmware 1.31) set up as a bridge with my direct tv box connected . The DIR-655 ip is 192.168.2.1, Grace radio ip is 192.168.2.177, DAP-1522 ip is 192.168.2.3 and Direct TV box ip is 192.168.2.173. My PC is hardwired to the DIR-655. I can ping all devices from my PC, but cant ping the DAP 1522, Direct TV Box or Grace Internet Radio from my IPAD. I have no trouble connecting to the DIR-655 from my Ipad. It only seems to be anything thats connected wireless to the DIR-655 that I cant access from my IPAD. All devices have the same subnet of 255.255.255.0 and gateway of 192.168.2.1.

I was having issues with somebody feeding off on my connection and causing problems with my Internet provider. I had changed it to be a secured network before but somehow it became unsecured. So, I set up an admin password and such so nobody else should be able to get into my outer . Anyway, after setting it up to with the WEP, now I cannot access the Internet from any other device except my main PC to which the router is connected.I usually get some sort of error stating that there is "limited on no connectivity" when I try to connect my laptop or Archos Home Tablet device. Yet, is reads that the signal strength is excellent and recognizes my network as existing.

Until 2 to days ago, my brother told me that he can't conlnect to the wi-fi. I said that its working just fine and told him to just reset his phone. And then, my sister also told me that she can't connect too. I checked their devices like iPhone 4S and iTouch and it says "Unable to join the network....... Also phones of my friends can't connect also. It was just working fine. I haven't changed anything on the router's configuration. I already reset the router, unplug then plug it and its still not working. The router is connected to my laptop and I can still browse the internet. Its the wireless connection that is not.
