My D-Link router is DIR-615 and one of those instructions on Nintendo's Support is to chance the TX Rate (Transmission Rate) to the value "2". However I can't find this option, even when I use the Nintendo's Important Note on the right. How I can activate this option or the location for it. I am trying to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to play Pokemon White.

I assume that every say 1 meter, I can send say 1 bits, so if I have 10 meters of link length, I can send 10 bits of data on that link. Do you have any argument to strongly support this assumption, preferrably a reference.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have had a DIR-655 for years, and this is a treat - channeling everything from IPTV, to a fast fiber connection, transfers - no sweats.
Then I had to setup a router for a friend, and recommended the DIR-615.
Setup the router, and max it would connect with was 150mb - I changed the settings accordingly: auto channel scan channel width: auto 20/40mhz
So this "opened" up the 300mb speed - however only for 5 mins, then it falls down to 150mb.
My laptop (lenovo) connects to the dir-655 just fine at full speed, and this is also the machine I used for testing the dir-615.
It's ax Hx firmware, FW: 8.04
What I can conclude by using inssider, and xirrus wifi inspector is that it generates 2 channels - and then after 5mins of connectivity looses a channel, and then the speed drops.
I got a new router from the dealer, same issue. Then a friend of mine lent me an ancient dir-615, and interestingly enough this had the same configuration option of "Transmission rate" in the wireless settings page! Just like the dir-655. and also connects at 300mb...
I have an WRVS4400N configured as a WAN and Wireless router and can connect clients (PC's and laptops) wirelessly thru out the office. The clients that are farther away (10-15 meters and on another floor) connect at a very slow rate i.e. less than 10MBps. I have a WAP4410N configured as a repeater. Immediately after powering up it will allow connections to the 4400 and clients work fine for a 1-2 minutes, then the connections drop and I can no longer connect through the 4410. Nor can I ping the 4410 through the 4400 although right after the pwr cycle I am able to ping the 4410. After another pwr cycle the 4410 is available for another short period.I have attached some info on the configuration of the units and I also have the configuration files available.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi have a 4Mbps DSL internet connection with 3 PCs connected through a router. 2 are connected wirelessly and the other is wired via an ethernet cable. i noticed that when downloading a file from an international server, the transfer rate on the wireless PCs is 2-3 times slower than on the wired PC. the wireless PC would get about 150-200kb/s, whereas the wired PC can max out to 450kb/s on a single download. however when i download from a local or nearby server instead, the transfer rate on the wireless and wired PCs are the same and can both reach up to 450kb/s per download. i don't understand why the wireless connection is slower to international servers compared to the wired PC.my wireless signal is at 54Mbps with "excellent" strength. i also tested the ping results from both the wireless and wired PCs to international servers and they are pretty much the same.

I have bought tp-link wdr-4900 for several days and encounter the following problems
1) nfs is not work, whenever I set up the nfs server (using hanewin nfs server), the media player fails to read the media file. (Problem does not appear for the previous ASUS n56u)
2) When there is large traffic rate (e.g. BitTorrent), the whole machine is very unstable, LAN and Wireless dies (SSID disappears, and LAN appears "ERR Connection" and "DNS not respond"), give me a feeling that the router cannot handle high traffic rate and the whole machine slows down and fails.
Is it possible to enable an absolute value rate limit using QOS on a HP ProCurve 5406 switch for a particular IP range on a specific port? Is there a way to configure our HP 5406 with an absolute rate limit on "WAN" port for that server's IP range? I would like to limit it to only being capable of sending 1Mbps worth of traffic over the head end at once.Everything in the documentation points towards priority queues, which as far as I can tell, isn't really what I want.Baring accomplishing this goal using rate limiting is there a better way to prevent our services from accidentally saturating this connection?i thimkong about somthing like that:

I recently updated my DIR-655 (hardware A3) router the latest firmware 1.35NA. After I updated, I noticed that my internet speed was drastically reduced and for some reason, I can't find the set up I had before I upgraded (I had 1.21 before upgrade to 1.35). I've messed with the settings, reset it, did pretty much anything I could think of to get it to go faster.Last night I somehow made it so no computer but mine would connect to it but I had the speed I wanted. I then reset the router completely and still had the same speeds. It remained fast until about an hour ago when it just bogged right down and I can't get it to be fast again.I used speedtest.net in order to see what it was doing and I'm getting a download of about .7 every time when I should be getting about 3 with the internet I have. At one point my upload speed was faster than my download which doesn't take a genius to figure out that that's not good.

I called tech support and he said that my motherboard must not be compatible with the card. I don't think this is the case but it was the only advice he could give me. I have an MSI P67A-G45 board. I tried to connect to a my friends wireless router. My PC can't locate anything and i tried to refresh several times and it didn't worked.I tried to re-activate the adapter and it didn't worked, tried to update it several times manually and auto no use. Most stores have several ISP accounts setup as failover, so they're not always active on our network but the ISP should still be up. He would like this to run from one of our servers. He is suggesting the 'gateway' for the ISP however I am not sure how to find this IP. The tracert utility returns IP addresses which are different than the gateway address in our router settings so I am wary to use those IPs.Which IPs would I ping to monitor the uptime and where would be the best place to find them?
