I have Ver E3, with firmware 5.10. Like it says above, Wireless N is not working. I've already going into Manual Wireless set up and selected Mixed G and N. All of my devices will connect, but only as G devices.I'm reluctant to set it to "N only" for fear that none of my devices will be able to connect.

After various uninstalls and reinstalls of the drivers and programs that come with it, I have found currently the best way to get it to work is leave the D-Link programs uninstalled and have Windows install the driver itself.The problem is, it doesn't seem to keep the drivers on restarting, so every time the computer is restarted, it must be installed again. This is not ideal.It occasionally worked when I installed from the CD, but the D-Link programs that would install with the drivers created problems of their own.

I was running Firmware 1.21, tried rebooting, resetting to factory, powered off the unit, etc. without success. Decided to Upgrade to the firmware to 135 NA, still no success. View 2 Replies View RelatedMy DCS-942 is doing everything quite well, except when an SD card is inserted. When connected to the network via ethernet, everything works well. I can set detection zones with snapshot or video modes and it does what I want it to do, however, as soon as I remove the ethernet cable and wish to use the camera over wireless, the unit fails to work at all (red light illuminated). If I then remove the SD card, it will work over wireless again with all the capability except for SD oriented operations. I have performed several hard resets and formatted the card with no success.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThere were 6 computers on the 2.4GHz band, and 2 on the 5GHz.Everytime the people on the 2.4GHz band would get disconnected for no reason, but this router should be able to handle that number easily. After lots of fiddling, like telling people to shut down their phones WiFi, I finally found the culprit:
N and G mixed mode
Even with only Wireless-N devices there would be problems. N-only mode worked well.That is unpractical for me as there are some devices here that are still on Wireless-G, like game consoles and some phones.

I just set up DDNS for my home, and also set forwarding port 5000 for my NAS with an specific IP address 192.168.1.xx. Then, I use my office Internet to call DDNS xxx.dyndns.org:5000 to connect the NAS in my home, It is working OK (from outside to home) However, if I call xxx.dyndns.org:5000 by my home Internet, it is not working (from inside home to home). But if I directly call NAS' IP address 192.168.1.xx:5000, it is OK to reach it. So I think, DDNS used behind TD-8970 (inside home) is not working. TD-9870 is not forwarding port.
I don't know what do I miss in setup this WD-8970.
My previous Zyxel wireless router modem can allow me to us DDNS behind it with out any extra setting. Is it possible that there is still some bug in Firmware of this TD-8970?

I have no problems connecting on a 5 GHz band or wired to the router. However any device connecting on 2.4 Ghz gets barely any bandwidth and drops after running for a short time. I have test numerous devices and have the same issue. What was odd is a device on 5GHz that worked fine had the same issue when connecting on 2.4 GHz which seems to say it is only that band. I have an old router that works fine on 2.4 GHz on channel 1 with all the security settings I used on the 4300.

Get GMT throws an error. I set known good public NTP servers, still get error. Also power cycling or rebooting the router seems to drop manual time settings, as well. I am using WDR4300 as a wireless access point, does that matter? Maybe I don't need time in access mode? It is connected to the Internet and is providing internet access to clients.
I am having issue with Yahoo videos not working on my home network wireless connection. It is not a computer issue because my laptop plays the videos fine on different wireless connections just will not play on my home connection. Is there some simple setting somewhere that is causing this issue? All other videos play fine......youtube, CBS news etc. It is only yahoo videos. The commercials even play fine. When the video tries to play it simply gets stuck in the loading screen with the circle thing going around an around or it nds then says video is no longer available.

How to successfully get VPN passthrough working with the W8960N?
I have the W8960N providing internet to local device. I want to setup a second router, TP-Link 1043ND with WW-DRT and PPTP set up to provide a separate access point for PPTP tunnelling to VPN servers outside of the UK. HideMyAss are providing VPN servers I wish to connect to.
I have followed instruction to set up both routers but would like to know if I am missing something.
First router 192.168.1.1 is basically untouched but with ports under NAT added: ports 1723 and 47 for my second router at local IP 192.168.1.111
Second router is set up according to [URL].
I know VPN work via just my first router. I can tunnel through using an Android tablet and connect to any HMA VPN server without changing anything on the 8960N.

after year and a half of using TL-WR741 ND router, it suddenly stop working during the night. I have no problems with router before this happened (I think only one or two reset in 1 year and 6 months). System led light does not flash (some sytem error) and I can't access to 192.168.1.1 router setup site. I tried almost everything, unplug power, reset etc. for almost 100 times, reconnect the router with modem and PC in all posible ways, but still can't establish connection or even access to router's setup. I've been using inSSider on Windows and trying different settings on my 4300 to get wireless n @ 300MHz working with no luck. The maximum I seem to be able to get it to run is 144MHz.
Is this a fault with the router or the firmware? Since the router is advertised to run at 300Mhz, then by rights if it does not or cannot, then TP-Link owes everyone a refund, at least in Australia because this counts as false advertising.
I had a similar issue with my 1043ND as well. Has anyone got a 4300 working at 300 MHz?

I recently bought the N750 wireless dual band router and I would like to setup a bridge with another router that I'm currently using.
I have followed the instructions in the documentation [URL]. But I've had 0 success in getting this to work.
How to get this feature to work?

I followed each step to the letter. In the last step when my router reboots I noticed that the System light doesn't flash. Which indicates that there is a system error (according to the user manual). But I'm unable to determine what the system error is because I can no longer log into my router's Administration page anymore.
in the instructions (link above) it says to disable DHCP, so I manually assign an IP address to my computer setting the gateway IP address to the IP address I manually assigned to my router. I can see that a connection to the router is established, but I'm unable connect to the internet and when I type in the IP address of my router I'm unable to get into the administration menu.
I checked the wireless connections on my source router and I don't see the IP address of the N750 router.

The other day I went to a friends house, came back home, booted up my PC, and my wireless network adapter wasn't working. Router model no. is N 150 DIR-524.After configuring it was working fine for a week or so and then one fine day internet stopped working on my PC and router LED for internet was not glowing as well. So I called my ISP and they changed my ethernet card settings (nVidia).They changed the 'Speed/duplex settings' from 'Auto Negotiation' to '10 Mb Half Duplex' and then the internet started working. During this they had disconnected my router. Once they were gone, I reset the router and connected it back. Since then it ain't working Internet works fine when the cable is plugged directly in the ethernet card but doesn't work when plugged via router. Router does everything right from opening the '192.168.0.1' page to saving the settings. But there's no internet access.
