I have a D-Link WBR-2310. It was working just fine until couple days ago. The problem lies with *No Internet Access* that using both wired and wireless. I havereset, shut it down for awhile. Reset the whole device still nothing. I do not have any clue what has happened. I have come up with disabling IPV4 or something? No idea how to do that and if thats right how do I go on to do it.
View 7 RepliesI have a Free Community WiFi that I can access from the edges of my house, but not from anywhere inside the house. My personal Internet connection is out due to the fact our bill trippled for some reason we can't figure out 2 months ago without telling us. We've had an auto payment sent every month for just over what it should be. So until I get this sorted out with the ISP I have to use the community WiFi. I would like to be able to use the internet from somewhere other than the wall in my kitchen.
So, I have a number of Routers, 2 Actiontec Q1000s, but only 1 power suply, a D-Link WBR-2310, D-Link DIR-601 & a few other ods & Ends including a 12DB Amped Wireless & An 8DB Hawking Tech antennas.What I want to do is to use 1 router to connect to the CommunityShared Network, A wired connection to another router (Preferably the Q1000 as it's already setup for my Home Network) & that router to serve my Home Network, preferably over the WAN port if possible, but I can run VPNs on each device for a week if I have to.
Right now I have one computer setup in the kitchen with a High Gain Antenna conected to a Atheros SUB-362 EXT USB WiFi card, (This computer gets 7Mbps Down & 9Mbps Up) then the built-in WiFi card connected to my Home network with a Static IP, The Q1000 set to use that IP as the Gateway. I can get about 200Kbps max on devices connected to the Home Network. But the biggest problem is that my old Atheros card disconnects randomly when accessed from one of the devices on the home network. I'm fine with a ThirdParty Firmware Update on the D-Links if necessary.When I look online I only find posts about how to extend a network using a second router or how to use a specific router to repeat or bridge.
Can I replace my Replacing D-link 604 w/ D-link ebr-2310 ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Internet Connectivity problem which I believe was caused by resetting our D-Link WBR-2310 router. We have a strange, perhaps illogical network setup in our office. Although it was set up before my time, I have figured it works as follows:
(1) A wired/wireless router (let's call it Router A) is connected directly to the DSL modem.
(2) An Ethernet cord runs from this router to a 5 port switch.
(3) 4 cords run from the switch to individual workstations. These computers obtain their IP addresses automatically.
(4) 1 cord runs from the switch to another wired/wireless router (let's call it Router B).
(5) Two cords run from Router B to individual workstations (let's call them Workstations C). These computers used permanent IP, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS server addresses. I understand that this was done because they could not obtain their IP addresses automatically.
The problem I've caused seems to stem from me resetting Router B to the factory settings while trying to secure its signal and changing its IP address from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1 (in order to avoid conflict with the modem which has the same IP address). Once I did that, Workstations C could not access the Internet.
I have tinkered with the TCP/IP settings for Workstations C (e.g. by changing the default gateways to the Router B's new IP address), but it doesn't work. What else should I be doing?
I was assisting a friend by trying to set up a wireless password on their network, I have no clue why they didn't have one, and when it did the normal resetting machine protocol after the password setup we lost all internet, we can connect to the wireless network fine but it has no internet. The modem has internet connection as when I link via ethernet I can connect to the internet. DHCP is not enabled on the router, I'm not sure if I have to set that setting on the modem? or frankly how to do that either.

Downstairs, connected to a cable modem (11MBPS), is an intel iMac running 10.4 that can send out its own wifi signal (internet sharing). Upstairs will be a PowerPC G5 Mac running 10.5 that has no wireless card...I was hoping I could use the router in place of a wireless adapter.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe setup a home network in our new house but we have a problem with limited connectivity in specific configuration.
There is few situations to describe the problem :
1. If I connect my computer directly to the modem I can access to the internet. (modem --> computer = internet OK)
2. If i connect the ethernet cable (in the wall) between my modem and RJ45 jack in the living room and connect my computer directly to the RJ45 I can access to the internet. (modem --> cat6 cable in the wall --> computer = internet ok)
3. If I connect my router directly (without the cat6 cable in the wall) to the modem and my computer to the the router I can access to the internet. (modem --> router --> computer = internet ok)
4. If i connect the ethernet cable (in the wall) between my modem and RJ45 jack in the living room and connect to router to the RJ45 and my computer to the router I CANNOT access to the internet. (modem --> cat6 cable in the wall --> router --> computer = internet access problem)
5. If i connect the ethernet cable (in the wall) between my modem and RJ45 jack in the living room and connect to a swith to the RJ45 and my computer to the switch I can access to the internet. (modem --> cat6 cable in the wall --> switch --> computer = internet OK)
With those tests I am not able to figured out what is the problem... router is working in situation #3. cable in the wall is ok in situations #2 and 5. How to make my router working when connected to the RJ45 jack in the living room.
There is my component :
Router --> D-Link WBR-2310
Switch --> Trendnet TE100-S5
Modem --> Thomson DCM475
Cable in the wall --> Homemade with 568A standard in both end.
I have a dlink wbr 2310 router and i keep on getting hit offline on my xbox 360 because my parents set my router on open connection so anyone close enough to pick it up can use it and I'm trying to close the connection so they would have to know my password to use it?

I have a problem with my tp-link router. I dont have an internet access of the router, updated firmware... When i connect to router by laptop the internet works fine, but when i connect to router by phone i have an internet access only 5 second and than i lost it, but still connected. I don't know what is the problem here, maybe phone?
I've been following those instructions to set a dir-615 as a wifi access point connected to a switch : [URL]. I am now able to connect to the 615 either by wifi or by typing it's ip address with another computer connected to the LAN. Connecting to the 615 by wifi, i can do a ping request to urls or receive and send mail with my e-mail client but i can't access websites using my browser.s it possible to get it working without installing some kind of modified firmware? I tried plugging the Internet ethernet cable in the LAN and Internet ports of the 615, none works.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAbout 3 months ago i bought myself a D-Link 615 Router, thinking that i needed one for the time being,and when i was gonna go to college (wich is now) i'm still gonna need one.Worked like a charm for about a month.Then i left for college, and didn't need the router for like 4 weeks.Now i REALLY need the router and it doesn't work... The little globe light is orange instead of green,and it looks like it's connected to the wireless network, but i get a yellow ! and "No internet Acces" Message.Good so i go to the same store where i bought it from(only in a different city) and the guy there is really awesome and just gives me another one...on the spot..and takes mine...i was there,it was the exact same router from the shelf...the box was sealed...everything was sealed....imagine my happyness...Now i try to make it work,and guess what...same thing...same No internet Acces,and orange light instead of green.Why?

I can access internet with PC, but not ipad2 WiFi.ipad2 WiFi can see this router and I can select it after putting password. BTW, ipad2 Wifi should be OK, since I can access Wifi networks on my company no problem.

The SSID will show up on the wireless computer(s) and Ad's. Under Control Panel, Network Connections, Internet Gateway is shown as disabled.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a DIR-655 router with a DAP-1522 connected in bridge mode. The firmware on the router is 1.21 and the firmware on the bridge is 1.21. I have my SSID set to broadcast on the DIR-655 with WPA-Personal encryption. When I initially setup the DAP-1522, I was able to access the setup page and connect to the DIR-655. On the status page of the DAP-1522, wireless radio is enabled and status is connected. I connected my XBOX 360, Sony BR player and DirecTV DVR to the wireless bridge and none of them can connect to the internet.
I can wirelessly access the bridge's IP, 192.168.0.50, from any computer connected to the DIR-655 but when I attempt to access the internet on any device connected to the DAP-1522, I do not get a connection. On the XBOX 360 I cannot connect my live account. On the Sony BR player, I get a message that new firmware was found, but when it attempts to connect to the internet to download it, the connection times out. Same occurs when attempting to access the internet on the DirecTV DVR receiver.
My DIR-655 has been working flawlessly for several months since I bought it. It is connected to Road Runner High Speed Internet from Time Warner. This morning it will not access the Internet. It shows a wireless connection, and I can connect to it via direct wired connection, but no Internet. A direct connection to the Time Warner Cable Modem connects to the Internet just fine. Cycled power on all units, & Time Warner reset the modem. Nothing has fixed the Router.

Second LAN cable from Port 1 to my laptop for config of the WLAN SSID and WPA2. Unplugged it and here we go, I can access the 615 via WLan Connection. But... I have no Internet Access over Lan or WLan. The 615 gives me options to setup Internet with the cable/ISP information. But this is done by my cable modem, isn't it ? What do I have to do to get it running? enabled and disabled DHCP, made Reset, latest Firmware 8.02 is installed (out of the box).

I have a LAN connection in the main PC and a further dialer like thing with user name and password is executed to access the internet. Each of the customers have diff IDs and passwords based on the bandwidth of the connection. The problem is that first am i connecting the Router in the right way? I put the main LAN cable into the Router's WAN port and the Other Ethernet wire i put is that from PC's Lan port to Router's LAn port. Is this right? I am confused because in the guide a modem is also mentined and i think thats for DSL users...
If i use the above settings, my LAN gets connected and the dialer also works and gets connected but when i access the internet from it, that doesn't work and no webpage opens.
Similarly, the Wireless connetion is displayed in the Laptop and when i access it, it gets connected, but it has a yellow exclamation mark in it, and the same goes here that the internet does not work. My internet connection id fine because i am sing internet no using main Lan ports of Pc, so i guess the problem i s with my Settings...
This router was just purchased this past week. I have 1 laptop, 1 desktop, and 1 netbook that is connecting to this (along with various smartphones). Set it all up according to the booklet, and ran into some trouble. When connecting through wireless, I only have "Local only" on the older laptop and desktop PC, but full internet access through the smartphones and the netbook. But, when I connect through LAN with the laptop, I have internet connection (only through LAN, not wireless). I suspect this also occurs on the PC, but the two are no where near each other to attempt. I installed the latest firmware version to no avail, and had done a full reset on the router and reinstalled it.

I was having issues with somebody feeding off on my connection and causing problems with my Internet provider. I had changed it to be a secured network before but somehow it became unsecured. So, I set up an admin password and such so nobody else should be able to get into my outer . Anyway, after setting it up to with the WEP, now I cannot access the Internet from any other device except my main PC to which the router is connected.I usually get some sort of error stating that there is "limited on no connectivity" when I try to connect my laptop or Archos Home Tablet device. Yet, is reads that the signal strength is excellent and recognizes my network as existing.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've had my DIR 615 router for quite some time. The hardware version is C1, firmware 3.01 originally. It's been fine for the most part (asides from connection issues now and then with the internet - which we rectified by unplugging modem and/or router). A couple nights ago we had a storm and the next morning the router would not connect to the internet. I tried unplugging the router and modem a number of times but could never establish a connection. The internet globe LED was originally orange but after I cut off the power, it never came back on. I tried a number of different cables between the modem and router and could not fix the issue. I bypassed the router totally and the internet works fine. After a lot of failed attempts, I decided to reset the router and reinstall it with the disc. I followed the instructions and kept getting error 322 that the router could not be found. I tried 3 different computers and 5 different wires to fix the problem but to no avail. I kept encountering the same error on each computer. Since the router can't be seen, I must bypass it totally to get any internet access so trying the online setup doesn't work because I can't connect to the router and then to the modem since there is no internet access. So now I'm stuck. I'm not sure if my router is damaged from the storm. All other lights work (LAN and wireless icon) but I can't get any internet access through the router. I'm not sure if I should just go buy another router or not. The installation checks out fine until connecting power to the router and then it can't be found.
I am running windows 7 and vista on different computers and laptops and used setup 4.1.7141.2
Is there any way to disable internet access for selected PCs, while still allowing them to access the LAN?

I set my TL-MR3020 to AP to act as a repeater to boost my wifi signal in the living.My TL-MR3020 is able to ping the main router but there is no internet access (no Internet light) on the TL-MR3020 . For an intro, Dir 500 H/W C1, FW: 3.02. I�m getting this annoying error that seems to fallow every-time I boot up the router after being shut off, for example, my supply (Electricity) doesn�t tend to be fluid around here so sometime the device need to be shut off (Constantly or 1 time in a daily basis) it is connected to an UPS though. After everything is up and running again I get the classic yellow sign on the tray-bar internet icon stating as connected but without Internet Access?With no way to access the internet when connected to the Dir-600, I go back using my primary router to and search for the problem, ending with nothing at hand but hard-resetting or plugging the power off kind of advises, e.g; The plug-ing off method seems not do the trick anymore, ending up only with the option of reset-ing the router to its factory status which is even more annoying to do every time I want it to function properly?

View 8 Replies View RelatedInternet access is working fine, however I cannot get my computers to work on the network therefore cant share any files or play any network games. The router is set up as DHCP server therefore IPs are automatically assigned, this is setup on the PCs and the router. The work group is also set. Exactly same settings basically as my old router which worked fine but wont on this one! I have 3 wired PCs and a wireless laptop. 2 PCs are windows XP the other is Windows 7 and the laptop is windows 7. The wireless win7 laptop will recognize my win7 wired PC and vice versa and can share everything without problems, but they wont have anything to do with the wired winxp PCs, on top of that the 2 winxp wont recognize each other either so don't think its anything platform specific. I have also tried setting up static IPs for each computer - still no joy.This is a brand new D-Link DIR-655 Rev B1 firmware 2.00

Finally I would like to block internet access to all devices not in one of the above groups. I need to use MAC addressing to identify the allowed devices. I was able to do this with my old WRT-54G but the DIR-825 is giving me trouble.My main problem occurs when I try to block access to "Other Machines". When I do that all devices on my network are cut off the internet.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a DIR-655 set up as follows: [code] Lost Internet Access on my DAP-1522 on only my wireless laptop connection, but not other wireless nodes on the DAP-1522.I have most of my wireless nodes attached to the DIR-655, which is upstairs. Downstairs is where the DAP-1522 is located. There is a wired connection between the DIR-655 and DAP-1522. The DAP-1522 is being used as a Access Point. On this I have only three nodes that are wireless. My Smartphone, iPad and my laptop. There are also three nodes that are using the wired ports with no issue accessing the internet. The setup above have being working for over two years with no issue. Then three days ago my laptop connects to the DAP-1522, but has "No Internet Access." If I change my wireless connection to the DIR-655 on my laptop, then I do have internet connection. My Smartphone and iPad still are able to access the DAP-1522 and get the internet.
I have deleted my DHCP Reservation for only my laptop on the DIR-655. Wireless connection to the DAP-1522, looked at the DIR-655 and see that DHCP Reservation show the MAC of the laptop and I Reserve it. Still "No Internet Access." On the DAP-1522 it does show that my laptop is associated to this device. I cannot ping my local LAN IP Addresses , a website or Public IP Address only from the laptop. The DIR-655 shows a "Do Not Enter: Wireless system with MAC address 4025C2B97110 disconnected for reason: Received Deauthentication" with a connection to the DAP-1522, but shows "Do Not Enter: Wireless system with MAC address 4025C2B97110 secured and linked" with a connection to the DIR-655.
I just bought the 655, mainly for school/Xbox. My parents use it also, but I bought it for myself mainly (shh). I set it up correctly and got connected, but suddenly I wasn't allowed Internet access. The router connects to my laptop, but won't get Internet access. I called customer service and he didn't know what to do. We tried everything he knew and nothing worked. I don't want to return the router cause I read it was very good, but I need internet for school. I have Rev. A and F/W 2.00.

View 14 Replies View RelatedSince I got my TP-Link 1043ND working in a previous thread I thought that my second router could be in good use at my brothers house about 50m from mine.I've got a modem in the basement, it's wired to the first router (TP-Link), the TP-Link sends wireless signals to five units, one of those units are my brothers computer. The Internet works fine on every unit.Now I thought maybe my brother will have better wireless signals to the first router if I connect a second router between. I guess the second router should be working like a switch then.I have the both routers MAC addresses. I got inside the first router and entered the WDS option, I chose LAN instead of Disabled and entered the second routers wireless MAC. Then I took the first routers MAC and entered it in the second routers WDS options MAC and Enabled it. It didn't work so I entered Static Routing Table on the second router and entered the first routers IP (started with 85.228) which I found in the dd-wrt menu. Then I entered same Netmask as the first router and the same Gateway with the interface LAN. No Internet access thou from the second router.The second routers LAN IP is set to 192.168.1.3 (the second router has 192.168.1.2 as LAN IP). DHCP is set to disabled at the second router. The funny thing is if I set the second router to the same LAN IP as the first router and the same DHCP settings with DHCP enabled it says that I have Internet Access but I can't enter the Internet
