I have Dell Inspiron 15 3520 laptop bought in December 2012 with Windows 8 Pro. It was working fine until two days ago. I am unable to obtain DHCP lease either through wireless or wired network. After troubleshooting, I found DHCP service is not running and try to restart but of no avail.I ran sfc /scannow and the results are OK.
View 2 RepliesI had a virus. I think I got rid of it. Avast scans and boot time scans and Super Anti Spyware and TDSS killer report all clear. However, the network shield of Avast and the Internet don't work. Points to note: 1. In services, the DHCP and DNS cannot be started. I get the error 1075: service has been marked for deletion or one of it's dependancies are missing. (close to that)
I've checked the dependancies of both, and reinstated the ADF module in device manager after selecting the 'View Hidden' option.
Just upgraded our WCS server to the 7.x code over the weekend. Turned up the first 3500 series AP's today. The AP's have been up for about an hour. I am seeing the Air Quality graphs on WCS. On the Worst 802.11a/n and 802.11b/g/n Interferers windows, I am see a WCS System Error Page message but only in those windows. I have gone over the documentation and dont see that I need to enable anything else on WCS.

When I checked the vendor for this MAC, it shows Lexmark international inc, which fact make me feel something is wrong. My first thought was that somebody trying to break into my net but I am close to accept that the owner of Lexmark WiFi printer without an idea in networking, just tried to connect it to his network and after failing to do that, it's wired and wireless features are still on. I forgot to tell you, that before I decided to post here I did firmware upgrade from Hardware version A3 1.10 to 1.35NA (I bought it from US) with factory default restore. I was on the internet and then my wireless turned off suddenly. the error message says "turn wireless capability on". BUt on the wardware, the witch is on, but when I check windown mobility center, it shows "wireless off" . Ran network diagnostics, but same error massage "turn wireless capability on". For now, when it happens, I need to restart my computer and it back to nomal. This happens at least 3-4 times a day.

I'm trying to connect my new Dell Dimension 8400 (3.0Ghz/512Mb/XPsp1) to my home wireless network. I installed two diiferent PCI adapter cards in my one available PCI slot -- an older D-Link (11b) and a brand new Netgear (11g) (which Dell Sales assured me is compatible). Both cards detected my Netgear wireless router and provided an excellent internet connection, so I'm assuming they were seated properly. The problem is that every time I shut down the system I get the blue screen of death with the following message:
-Hardware Malfunction
-NMI: Parity Check/Memory Parity Error
-The System has halted
The system runs and shuts down perfectly when the PCI cards are removed. D-Link and Netgear Support technicians told me I have to contact Dell, but Dell Support doesn't seem to have an answer for me. Which wireless PCI adapter cards are truly compatible with Dell hardware?

Have a strong suspicion that it is a hardware failure (since asdm has worked and have tried to restart the box) can not see any errors with any show commands, but could it be a RAM error .

This is that after every Windows Update I am unable to connect to the Internet. Wi-Fi checks out and used by other PC's in the house, I thought I'd cured it recently by being able to go in and sign into Mcafee (22/1) then an update on 23/1 and BAM! No Internet, no way can I get into McAfee to sign in, and the only options are restore to 21/1 (did that still no joy) or back to Factory (23/12/12) and re-install Office 2010 AGAIN! I have spent over £10 in calling the Dell Premium line, I have emailed the Support Director who arranged the laptop swap and still have this problem. I have posted it on Windows 8 forums, other forums I can find, Googled 'No Internet after Windows8 updates' 'till the cows come home, have gone back to Factory about 10 times over the 2 machines, tried to create Restore points myself but they disappear after the updates, all very frustrating. I 'could' get a refund but this is the 6th Dell machine we've had and I like the support. This machine, like 2 others (1 on Vista about to be upgraded to Win7 the other just upgraded) this new one will be used in a church based Debt Advice charity so eventually will be in a cupboard and used every Wednesday by an admin volunteer. It will be a terrible pain to have this trouble as she's not that young nor a PC expert so I need a seamless, invisible solution that will work without a hitch like all updates in XP, Vista and Win7.

Although I had to install windows 7 32 bit and I am facing a driver issue with wireless adapter. When I try to connect to the preferred network I get "Unidentified Network - No Internet Access".
I know this is a driver problem because it works well on Ubuntu. So as the original configuration from Dell site lists: "WIRELESS : DELL WIRELESS 1703 CARD"

I use a broadband card from Verizon that I just put in my USB (no router, etc) I'm getting a System Error Source DHCP Event ID 1002. When this happens, my computer, I believe, is going into sleep mode and I have to reboot the system. When I turn it back on and go back on the internet, all my websites that I was in are still there. The error says: The IP address lease 10.170.223.48 for the Network Card with Network address 2c3068c16ED1 has been denied by the DHCP Server 10.173.229.86 (The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message)The DHCP Server Service did not extend the lease on your computer's IP address, so your computer temporarily lost its connection with the Network. I tried the ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew. I tried going in services.msc and going under DHCP and keeping it automatic but stopping it. I called Verizon and I believe he refreshed my Network settings (I think I knew more about the topic than he did) He said it was my computer, whatever. I just tried the static IP but it didn't seem to take. I restarted and it jumped back to automatic. My last guess is it's something to do with the time frame of when it automatically obtains the address and when it expires. When I do the ipconfig /all it shows only a two hour time frame before it expires. Today I noticed that my computer shut down/sleepmode at the exact time the ipaddress was obtained. So, is there a way to increase this time between obtaining and expiring?

Dell Inspiron 1521 w/Vista Home Premium, wlan dell 1390. Adapter does not start at any time if I don't remove battery for a long period, or a shorter period if I depress the on/off button for 15-20 seconds. Works fine if it starts, but when it does not start it does not appear in Device Manager. If I close the lid (sleep) for even a split second the wifi will not come back on because the adapter is not active. The computer does not wake from sleep normally either, but that's been going on from the beginning and the wlan adapter is a new issue (in a long line of issues with this laptop.)

I need to be able track config changes and retain the ability for the customer to recover the original config should they destroy the config through any misguided fiddling on their part. There is no remote management and these router need to be recoverable. I know this used to configured by default on earlier routers as I've checked on teh ones we have, but checking through the configuration has not worked and i have everything configured the same but system messages are still lost on reboot. Do the problem caused by the modems itself or it just sign of faulty Ethernet switch (using 20 port Allied Telesis ethernet switch).
