Cold start it will not connect to internet but the other computers I have do so I know it's not an internet connection issue.
Network Diagnosis fails to find anything nor does it make an internet connection. I only seem to make a connection on restart.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a new Dell Vostro 3360 with a Dell Wireless 1703 802.11b/g/n (2.4GHz) card. No internet access (wireless) from my home (other notebooks work perfect). LAN works fine. I have a AVM Fritz!Box 7360SL router at home.
On the other hand, wireless internet works fine at my lab (here : 802.11g, unsecured hotspot). Installed latest drivers and did even a clean re-installation (Windows 7 ultimate or professional) - problem remained.
I set up LDAP store pointing to a Windows domain and am testing authenticating users via an ASA. In my LDAP config, its set for "Groups Objects refer to subjects" and I selected usernames in the drop down. I also added a a Global Group to the Directory groups tab in the LDAP store that I created.
Under my Access Polices, I created a rule that meets two condititons - coming from the ASA, and then I was able to select the group from the drop down box for my ldap domain. As a condition, it shows up as DomainName:External Groups. I set the permission to Permit Access.
Originally, I was failing authentication and I was receiving Subject Not Found in Store. I adjusted the Identity Sequence and now I receive a the following error:
15039: Selected Authorization Profile is Deny Access. So it must not be associating my account with the group with the Permit Access and using the Default Permissions.So it does match the correct Access Service, and Identity Store.
The wireless network never picks up any signals and when I try to plug in to the modem it doesn't recognize the internet either. Is this a driver issue or what?

When I connect the computer to internet via ethernet the connection is stable. When I run a diagnostics on the wireless card all pass, except the internet IP ping. I get the following message:
The wireless router/AP for your network is working, but your computer is not able to use an IP address to connect to the Internet. You will not be able to connect to the Internet, although you might be able to connect to your local network. Contact your network administrator or wireless router/AP installer for assistance.
I have installed latest driver for the 1397 mini wireless card, albeit a couple of years old.
The wireless router I am using is Netgear Rangemax Dual Band DGND3300v2. I can get into the router administration area but am at a loss as to how to reset/re-install it.

Some of the time it is fine, but at other times it will not connect to my home wireless network (or any other open ones I can find) despite the network being in full signal. The only advice offered by the troubleshooter is to reset the wireless router. This does work (but is very irritating to flatmates!) but doesn't prevent the problem recurring. Only my computer has an issue, and sometimes it will manage to connect to the internet by itself, seemingly spontaneously. The laptop is set to connect automatically, and when not working it also does sometimes attempt to connect, (i.e. it says 'connecting') but cuts out again before managing it. The problem can last for a few minutes or several hours.

Totally bizarre, right?I just built a new computer with a fresh install of Windows 7. I set it up directly connected to the router, where I applied all windows updates. I then moved it to where my old computer is, which uses a wall port to connect to the router in another room, where this new computer then fails to connect to the internet or to the router's setup. The new computer's Ethernet LEDs will light up, and the computer will automatically obtain an IP address, but will not connect to the internet or even the router setup.

I was having internet problems pior to this happening (internet was being very slow and some web pages and some videos wouldn't load. I think the latter had to do with flash player though.) I had also been doing some stupid stuff on my comp that I know can give you viruses. Furthermore I also knew that due to previous virus's I was not able to do a restore. So as you have probably gathered my computer was pretty buggered even before this problem. So decided to restore to factory default using some backup images I made when I first got the comp. That went smoothly however the internet stilll doesn't work unless I plus it in using a ethernet cable.

After some hours my laptop dies, I found it tourned off and it didn't start again. So, afert two days, another technical Dell changed XPS17 's motherboard and the power connector. The same day I worked with my notebook without any problemes, but at the end of my workday I shut down the system (Windows server 2008) and It restart automatically. I tried again more than once, but at the end my laptop restart automatically again (I have two partitions: Win 7 and Win 2008 server Both OS has the same issue: automatic reboot afert shut down). This morning I turned on my laptop and immediatelty I shut it down and It dind't restar, during the day while I was working, sometimes I turned it off and all seems ok, but this evening (after a workday and after backup) it restarted automatically again after shut down !

View 1 Replies View RelatedWireless service on Dell laptop computer had been running fine for 4.5 months until underground Comcast cable failed, presumably due to freezing and thawing in cold New England soil. All Comcast service went out, TV, Internet cable modem, etc. Service was restored with above ground cable, and wireless service returned to other devices in household, but not the Dell laptop. I am wondering if my wireless card itself was damaged in the event, as no software fixes I have tried have worked. However, the device manager says the Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-card is working properly and the driver software for the service is up to date.

I am having an annoying issue the past few weeks. Every time I start my computer, it can't seem to connect to the internet. It says there are no networks available. I then have to restart my computer and everything is all good. How come it is not picking up the internet on the first try?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI can use my computer just fine right now, but whenever I need to restart it, when it comes back on the internet is no longer detected. I am connected through an ethernet wire directly to the internet, with no intermediate router or network.
After failing to solve the problem on my own, the only way Ive found that has been after to restore the internet connection is using the Windows Restore centre and restoring it to about a month ago; restoring it to only a few days ago does not fix the internet.
However, also when I use the restore function, immediately upon starting my system up again I get an error message saying that the system restore has failed and that nothing was changed. But the internet now works again.
Im not really sure what I should do to check out the problem further, let alone remedy it. I run Windows Vista, 64-bit. I can provide further info if need be.

View 12 Replies View RelatedFor the past week or so I've been having trouble with my Wi-Fi connection. I have a desktop PC, a kindle and a PS3 that all connect to it.
If I turn on my Kindle after it's been off for a while it'll try to connect to the Wi-Fi but will keep alternating between 'Authenticating'/'Connecting' and never gets to the 'Obtaining IP Address' part so it shows the signal strength bars at the top but they're totally empty. If I go and unplug the modem and the router, let them sit for a minute, plug them back in the large light on the router will flash orange (it's usually green) so I press and hold the WPS button which begins to flash and then both lights turn green and the Kindle quickly connects itself to the Wi-Fi. If I don't let it go into sleep mode or turn it off it will stay connected but if it turns off I have to do the same modem/router reset. When I'm at school or work I have zero issues connecting their wireless networks.
With the PS3, if it's turned on while I reset the modem/router it will connect to the network but if it's turned off during the reset it will not connect when I turn it on later. Also, either way, it no longer connects to my media server (sharing files between the PC and the PS3) regardless of connecting or not.
I have Vista Home premium 32 bit. My connection from the internet has been a frustrating problem. I have to turn my computer off and on several times before my wireless works. It I do a restart on my computer my internet does not work, so I have to totally shut it down and wait then restart and even then it my not work. I always run the repair to repair wireless connection and even that does not work.

Every time she tries to print something to the wireless printer, the item just stays in the printing queue. However, once she restarts her laptop all of a sudden the laptop and printer seem to communicate, and the printer always starts printing whatever was in her queue from the previous time.so when she wants to print something it automatically starts printing, and she doesn't have to restart her computer every time to print stuff.
View 2 Replies View Relatedproblem with my Dell Latitude D600 Laptop,I tried re-installing my OS, so now with a fresh new OS the wireless capabilities worked fine, but only for the first day, then the next morning the whole problem began again. Now it would say " No supported wireless adapters found" and when i would open the device manager some devices would have the yellow exclamation point, some of the devices would say "Intel PCIC compatible PCMICA controller" and " PCMICA MTD-0002" or just "card bus controller" and many other ones that would alternate when they appear. And also sometimes my network adapters would completely disappear from the list. I also tried scanning my whole drive for viruses and nothing was found.
Then i found that if you disconnect the wireless adapter physically and re connect it, it might work, but it didn't. I should also add that before this problem for some time i had another problem with the same laptop that had to do with the battery malfunctioning, and it displays a 4 orange , 1 green pattern sequence on the LED charge display. But it had never affected any of the laptops hardware or software before, so I don't know if that might have anything to do with it.

I have a motorola usb modem which is connected to my laptop and i have shared the connection and have an ethernet cable from laptop to wireless modem (TP-LINK) such that other wifi enabled devices can connect to it.Now we have electricity blackouts and when that happens my wireless router gets turned off. Internet on the laptop is working fine, now when the electricity comes back and the wireless router is on, the net does not work on the other wifi devices and only my laptop (as its directly connected to the modem).I have to reboot my laptop for the shared connection to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my computers hardware which included a new motherboard, ever since installing this new motherboard my internet connection has been unreliable. The motherboard ( Gigabyte p67-ud4-b3) has an inbuilt NIC which i connected to my router via a standard cable.I first started noticing the interruptions when download files any bigger than 20MB as they would randomly go down to 0kb/sec and I would have to restart the download. I bypassed this by using a download manager but i have noticed it happening on youtube streams now which is getting rather annoying.The only thing i've changed for this to start happening is the motherboard and a new installation of windows 7.I've tried various things to fix this by fiddling with router settings and even updating the router software but nothing has worked ( I have also done various virus scans all showing no viruses)

Setup 1 work perfectly and been online for 2 week (since install) without issue
Setup 2 worked for 2 day then had to reboot, then work for few days then need reboot, now it look like it need to be rebooted every day. the internet just stop working and a simple reboot does the trick... also, when that happen I can stil remote in server that have port forwarded in the router or connect to router management port, but internet on the server is down... I tried opendns and google dns on both WAN connection and still no luck.I have followed instruction on various support forum;
-more reliable dns server
-lower MTU
-failover vs load balance
-disabling SPI and DoS protection
at this point I'm about to swap both router to see if it not a defective hardware or disconnect DSL WAN on setup 1 to see if its more stable but the whole point of installing this router was for Internet redundancy which so far dosent work as expected.
i have a dell inspiron E1405. my laptop will not search for any wireless networks. i have wireless at my house and my toshiba computer. will find the wireless but the dell wont. i dont know what to do. i have tried to use the repair button but it just says it fails because there is no internet connection. i have tried to reset my internet and it is still not working.

It works fine on 3 notebooks, while on 2 notebooks the VPN connection fails with error:

We use a smartcard for VPN access (etoken from Aladdin)

It seems the problem is in the certificate, but I verified and Cisco client says it's ok. It's also the only valid certificate in MMC->Certificates->Personal.Furthermore, also using other smartcard (etokens) of other users it doesn't work.
I'm running Windows Vista on a Dell Laptop. Normally I just use wireless wherever I am but now I need to hard wire to the computer. It was initially working for a few minutes but then the connection dropped. Now whenever I plug the cable in, it shows it as being connected but comes up as local only so I can't browse or do anything.
I have tried:
-Restarting the machine
-Ensuring that windows was picking up the IP addresses automatically
-Checking the connection on another computer, works fine.
-Disabling the IpV6
-Disabling/Enabling the LAN connection in the Manage network connections setup
-Uninstalling, re installing the driver for the ethernet adapter
-System Restore
I've also tried in safe mode with networking and have disabled any firewalls that were running.Again, most of the time I never use the hard wired connection, but whenever I have, it hasn't had any problems until now.It always comes up as being connected, but says local only.
