I have a brand new broadband service in my new house.The problem I have and the ISP support cannot understand is that using my laptop in i connect wirelessly to internet as soon as i request a page the router losing connection to the internet.But I can use my smartphone wirelessly that does not cause router any problems.If I use the lan cable the internet is fine and only disconnects every now and again.

Network Diagnosis fails to find anything nor does it make an internet connection. I only seem to make a connection on restart.

I set up LDAP store pointing to a Windows domain and am testing authenticating users via an ASA. In my LDAP config, its set for "Groups Objects refer to subjects" and I selected usernames in the drop down. I also added a a Global Group to the Directory groups tab in the LDAP store that I created.
Under my Access Polices, I created a rule that meets two condititons - coming from the ASA, and then I was able to select the group from the drop down box for my ldap domain. As a condition, it shows up as DomainName:External Groups. I set the permission to Permit Access.
Originally, I was failing authentication and I was receiving Subject Not Found in Store. I adjusted the Identity Sequence and now I receive a the following error:
15039: Selected Authorization Profile is Deny Access. So it must not be associating my account with the group with the Permit Access and using the Default Permissions.So it does match the correct Access Service, and Identity Store.
My computer not working probably with a wired connection.I can ping to the problem sites with absolutely no issues.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIntalled a new router (Linksys Cloud 1200) yesterday. Immediately after that the 2 computers that were connected to the network could no longer access the internet. My laptop and my ipad can access the internet wirelessly. The laptop which was not connected to the network when I connected the router can access the network both wirelessly and wired. Printers attached to the network will print without a problem.Finally I took an old computer out of storage (running WinXP) and hooked it up to the wired network. It too has no problems accessing the network. So have to assume the issue is a software issue with the two computers that were hooked up to the network when I changed the router.I have read the posts here - I did a stack reset on one of the computers but no luck. I removed Norton 360 and Team Viewer which in other posts people said they had issues with...to no avail.
Since I dont have a wireless connection to the 2 computers that cannot access the internet - I cannot download TSG SysInfo. However here I did copy the ipconfig lines below from the desktop thats not responding. [code] Was working fine until I replaced the router. I tried going back to the oldrouter (Netgear) same issue - no wired internet connectivity.
problem started a few months ago. wireless kept crashing. tracked it down to seeing it crash when certain Win7 Dell laptop tried to connect. (Laptop is company owned with standard type of corporate AD authentication and image) my wireless setting use WPA2 personal with AES encryption. use both N & G, auto rate and scan.any time this laptop connected the wireless crashed, other devices didn't show SSID (both main and guest)But wired connection continued to work fine.

The modem is a Siemens Speed stream 4100. I have a cable going from the ethernet port of the modem to the modem port on the router. The pc is connected to one of the other four ports in the router. The wireless works fine, but I can't get the wired connection on the desktop working. The Internet light on the modem is not on, but the modem works fine when connected directly to the pc. I've tried power cycling and resetting everything, but it's still not working.

I have my internet hooked up to a DSL Modem and a Wireless Router. But I had configured the Wireless Router wrong that I couldn't connect to it using a WiFi. I was going to reconfigure it but the Netgear Router was outdated that their reconfiguring URL no longer existed. So I went out and got a *NEW* Netgear Router. View 3 Replies View RelatedAbout 6 months ago I bought a new router (Linksys E1000 v2.1) which worked great right out of the box. A couple months later I tried to setup a home network so that my two laptops could access a shared drive on my wired desktop, but for some reason they didn't show up as being on the same network. All computers involved are running Windows 7 if that matters.
Upon a recommendation from I friend I put DD-WRT on the router and it worked fine. Setup MAC filtering and WPA2 Personal security. This worked fine for about 4 months until today.
When I got home from work today I noticed my laptop wouldn't pull up any web pages, but it said it was connected. Then I noticed my iPhone wasn't connected either. I restarted my laptop and then it wouldn't connect to the wireless either (I could see the wireless, but I would get a Could not Connect error when I tried to connect to it).
I went to my desktop and it is working just fine, it is plugged into the back of the router. I also have an AT&T MicroCell (cell phone booster) that is plugged in to the back of the router and it works fine too.
I removed the encryption and MAC filtering. I then reset to factory (or "factory" DD-WRT) and now the wireless works, but it is MUCH slower than my desktop. I ran a speedtest on my desktop and got 12 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up. On my laptop, I get 0.03 Mbps down and 0.25 Mbps up.
I am running Ubuntu 10.04 on my Acer Aspire One netbook.The wireless connection works great, but the wired is totally dead.
When I plug the Ethernet wire, the little led next to the port doesn't blink.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWired Internet works on laptop but not on desktop 1) Cable modem --> Switch --> Wireless Router --> ATA Adapter for the VOIP Phone --> Desktop Worked until i had a minor power outage. After which everything stopped ie No internet. So i tried scenario 2.
2) Cable modem --> Wireless Router --> Switch --> ATA Adapter for the VOIP Phone --> Desktop Got internet working (wired and wireless) for few days and then it stopped suddenly again. I tried both the above scenariosn again, but didnt work.
3) Now I connected my laptop (which i connected via wireless only before) with wire from cable modem straight to Laptop. Interent works
4) When I connect the same wire used successfully on laptop to my desktop, internet doesnt work. Both Laptop and desktop have windows 7?
MY ISP is AT&T. I have their Westell DSL modem, with a bridged connection to a Linksys wireless router. The router is connected via ethernet to a dead computer: a 7 year-old Dell desktop that will boot up but shut down right away. I have been able to connect multiple laptops wirelessly to this network. I thought an ethernet connection was required in a home network such as mine? The cable has been plugged into a dead computer for several months and frankly I'd like to get rid of the desktop. What exactly is the ethernet requirement - just to be plugged into a port? Could I theoretically just yank the ethernet card out of the desktop and use it instead of the whole dead system?

On the other one, though, the router asks for a user name and p/w, but the setup screen never loads. I get the eternal "Loading" message but it never gets there.

I have been able to play streaming video via Windows Media Player with no problems for just about forever until last month.No software has changed. i have the latest firmware (2.39.2e) for the router. i am able to play the same videos when i use my AT&T data connection or when i am connected at work, ,so i know it's not the files i'm trying to view. WMP fails to play whether i am hard connected or wirelessly connected.

1. No applications such as google talk, steam, my ftp client or basically any computer application that requires internet for some of its functions. (all on my desktop PC connected to LAN)
2. The internet would partially work. I could get to some websites but it would often fail to load
3. Other computers are able to connect to the LAN and it work without an issue
I am having issues with the wireless on my Billion 7800N My phone and other wireless items were able to detect and use the wireless until recently when now all I do is find it in the list, but when I go to use it, it says failed to connect.

I purchased the range extender and set it up with her ssid and wep key I ran cat5 from that into the house. If i use the cat5 on a laptop it works fine. When I run the cat5 to a linksys router and use wireless it fails I can connet to the wirless router but no internet.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI having an issue with WCS and the new code 7.4 on my WiSM2 blade. When I try to refresh configuration from/to controller it fails. I just upgraded from 7.01 and it worked before the upgrade.
Is this not supported?
I am able to change configuration from WCS to the WiSM2 and it works fine just cant copy config.
Connecting with a LAN cable to the router works 100%, and I can get access to the router's IP-address, but when trying to connect to wireless, it asks for the WPA key, and I fill it in, but then gives an error saying "Can't connect to wireless network: *network name here*" (This is translated from Dutch to English, so it might be a bit different on an English computer).

It will either not find the signal, or not connect to it unless I have my laptop wired with an ethernet cable. My network adapter is a Broadcom 802.11n. I have tried updating the driver, and multiple different routers/connections.(Yes the adapter is enabled to search for connections, it just doesnt find them unless I have it wired)

Some of the time it is fine, but at other times it will not connect to my home wireless network (or any other open ones I can find) despite the network being in full signal. The only advice offered by the troubleshooter is to reset the wireless router. This does work (but is very irritating to flatmates!) but doesn't prevent the problem recurring. Only my computer has an issue, and sometimes it will manage to connect to the internet by itself, seemingly spontaneously. The laptop is set to connect automatically, and when not working it also does sometimes attempt to connect, (i.e. it says 'connecting') but cuts out again before managing it. The problem can last for a few minutes or several hours.

But the first 5 minutes I can try as often as I like but it will give a 'problem' popup, offering me a windows troubleshooter (which doesn't find the problem).I just have to try manually over and over again until it finally connects.Then my problems are over and I can internet without loosing connection. This doesn't only happen at home, but also when I'm at relatives. So my modem or ISP is not the problem. Also, my other equipment works just fine (mac, iphone, ipod, netbook).I've updated the Broadcom 802.11n adapter driver, run a virus/malware check, etc. but nothing works.The wireless lan adapter I assume basically works ok as it doesn't loose connection once I get online? Is there another setting I could check or optimise? I find it so strange. It's like the first 20-30 times trying to manually connect something is blocking it and once I get through I'm online without problems or losing connection. As I mentioned earlier, my other equipment go online almost immediately. Is there some windows setting that could block my manual attempts for a few times before letting me in? Could the broadcom adapter be faulty after all, even when after connecting it stays connected and problem free? Any control panel or other setting I could check first before sending it to be checked/repaired?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm running Windows 7. As stated in the title, once I see the screen blink, I know I have a few moments of connectivity left. The screen will continue to blink, then the wireless network connection icon goes red with an "x" through it. The computer continues to work (albeit with the screen blinking), but with no connection to the Internet. Checking Device Manager indicates no conflicts. Manually pressing the "wireless connectivity button" on this Compaq, which shows green=connected, only turns it red for a second, then back to green as if the adapter is enabled. Doing this prior to the blink-failure cuts the wireless connection as it should. I added iTunes about a month ago, the problem started about two weeks ago.

"Disk" is a 16gb USB flash memory. Formated FAT32, 1 partition, 6 users besides Admin and Guest, 2 groups besides Admin and Guest.
When I resume from sleep, my WUSB600N fails to be recognized. All other USB devices are recognized. Using up to date chipset, and Windows 7 drivers for the WUSB600N. Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 Rev 2.1.

10.0.0.9 is the management interface IP of the WLC. The primary-base is set manually due to the fact that we have several WLCs in place but only 1 is s 5500 series. The other ones are 4400 series WLCs. The new 2600 APs only can join a 5500 WLC afaik. The WLC runs 7.4.100.0
We are trying to set up Out of band connection for Cisco 5508 WLC and when we try to ssh to the Service port from a remote switch, this fails. SSH or Telnet to the Management IP address works fine. The Service port and Managment IP are in the same IP scope but different subnet..i.e 172.16.10 for Management and 172.16.99 for Service port. Also, as this set up will be HA (AP SSO) in future, for which DHCP is recommended for the service ports, just wondering if SSh will be possible.

We have a Cisco aironet 1162N connected to a Wireless Controller (LIGHTWEIGHT mode), the device failed and it needs to be replaced.We have a Cisco aironet 1142N in stock available to use.Can we proceed with the change just with disconnect the failed AP (model: 1162N ) and connect the new one (model: 1142N)? Or there is any other task to be done before the change? since the WLC manages the configuration for each AP.
