View 2 RepliesI just received a Dish TV slingbox and I am trying to set it up to work with my E2500 wireless router.I'm told by Dish that I need to open up ports 80, 443 and 5678. I have Comcast as my ISP.I've gone into the Single Port Forwarding option in the Router Browser interface and for each of the 3 above listed ports have enter this info (using 80 as an example):
External Port: 80
Internal Port: 80
Protocol: Both
To IP Address 192.168.1.2
Enabled is checked
I have confirmed that UPnP is enabled. I am running firmware 1.0.07.I have seen examples on the web where the last digit of the "To IP Address" is left blank, but that is not an option, as I'm forced to enter a number between 1 and 254. 1 will not work as it is my router's IP Address.
I purchased IPTV set-top box from Dish Network (which in turn uses NeuLion services). The set top box works out of the box with TrendNet TEW-432BRP, however the set top box seems to reboot every time I try to launch a channel. The set top box is connected to LAN port 2/DLink is configured to reserve IP address for the set-top box based on its MAC address. The set top is also within its own DMZ so that it does not interfere with firewall settings.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to connect my DishNetwork DVR up via a wireless link to the E3000.My home network consists of a Linux Server acting as a router/gateway for a DSL link, with several pc's (XP/MAC/Linux) connected on a local 10/100 lan.The existing lan addressing scheme uses static IP's and the DVR requires a DHCP link.I thought the E3000 would solve that issue by using it's DHCP server capability to host the DVR wirelessly and integrate it into the rest of the lan.I set up the DHCP and reserved an IP address, which the DVR pick's up just fine, but although I can ping the gateway and DVR in both directions, I am unable to access the internet.I've tried to set up a static route, but I think I'm not doing it correctly. View 2 Replies View RelatedTwo buildings on same farm property 660 feet apart. Cable internet to one building does not reach 660 feet to second building and the cable company will not put it in. Wireless between the buildings is not out of the question; but, I've never done anything this distance before and I am concerned that signal loss over 660 feet might degrade throughput.
So, what is a feasible way of getting the signal from the first building 660 feet to the second building?
Any router that can go up to atleast 100 ft i have no idea how what to look for when buying a router.

After I mounted the camera at the front door, after connecting the camera to the electric power, I saw clearly the picture. But after I finished mounting, I could not see the picture anymore. On the computer, it was stated that the camera was offline.

I need to bridge from our office to our shop that is around 800 feet away. Here are the Details
I need the 2.4 ghz antenna for client access (Iphones are not compatiable with 802.11a) The locations are 800 feet away but are line of sight. I need to use the 5ghz antenna for the bridge i have 2 aironet 1242ag's I have 2 2.4 ghz AIR-ANT3213 antennas (planned for client access) I have 2 2.4 ghz AIR-ANT2506 (maybe useless for this)
My problem is that the range of all the listed 5 ghz antennas. None that i can find will bridge 54mb over the 5ghz radio for greater than 170ft
The closest that i can find is AIR-ANT5195. If i put these on both sides and it is outdoors line of sight, will the best i can hope for is functioning and 6mb
Are there options on 5ghz that i am missing.
I need to a run an Ethernet network between 2 buildings 1000ft apart. The buildings are in a forest so I don't think wireless is possible. What kind of cable can I run between the two buildings and what type of adapters do I need on each side?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got Fios installed this week. Router is the Actiontec MI424, it sits int he living room. I ran a speed test of the wifi on my laptop in the living room, and the internet speeds were great. Here's my problem. I'm in a 2 br condo, not a huge place maybe like 1200 Sq feet, same floor. Wifi is awesome in the living room, but in the bedroom it hangs. I still have a signal, varying for low to good, but it takes forever to open a web page, to the point where you can't use the internet. Bedroom is just down the hall.I called Verizon. They told me they can only guarantee the wifi signal 10 feet from the router, after that no promises. My frustration is that with my previous provider, which was giving me a slower internet connection, my wifi in the bedroom was fine and the router was in the exact same spot. Of course I used my own router? I know there are instructions on connecting my old router to the fios one and using my old router for wifi.

In then moved the e1200 to a new location 150 feet away and it will not work. I previously had this working with an older linksys router. It will not deliver a Internet connection.

View 1 Replies View Relatedfind a 3x3 (450mbps) WiFi antenna for the 802.11n 5GHz band? I'm pretty much looking for something similar to this, which works at 2.4GHz:

I've done a considerable amount of searching and have not been able to come up with anything. Individual 5GHz dipole antennas can be bought online, but these would be a sub-optimal solution for me, as I would like the antenna to have a solid base so it can sit on the desk/bookshelf.Edit: Found a Proxim antenna that claims to be dual-band, but it's pricey. Also claims to use reverse SMA connectors, so should work with desktop WiFi cards or mini PCIe cards with pigtails.[URL]
My housemates have been having a trouble with network coverage in my house, the router is located in the basement of my house, perfect for me as my room is also down there (Ethernet). Unfortunately my housemate in the attic room's signal seems to be a problem. I'm wondering if it would be possible to remove one of my routers two antennas solder some copper wire to the spot it was removed, then have the wire go up to the 1st floor and re-solder the antenna up there (mount it on the wall or something). I'm confident with the practicalities of actually doing this, but I'm not that techie when it comes to electronics. I'm not sure whether it would need more power to boost it over such a distance.
