I need some brilliant mind regarding my Edimax router. After I install my edimax router my win7 pc connects to the internet however my 2nd computer which is running winxpSP3 is not able to connect. I interchange the utp cable but problem still persist. When my winxp pc is connected directly to the modem internet connection is absolutely good.
I use an Edimax 11n usb wireless lan utility to connect to my router. It gets 60% signal strength and 100% link quality. Either i get disconnected, limited access or no internet access statuses every other hour or not at all. Its intermittent which makes it impossible to explain to the internet provider. The main error that comes up when windows diagnoses is "DNS connection error". Now the internet provider has shown me how to manually set the router to use specific DNS's and that still did nothing.
I got an EDIMAX Nano BRN-6258n Router to replace my glitchy Belkin Wireless-G router about a month ago. My typical network setup involves a desktop computer wired to a router and a laptop connected wirelessly.
Anywhere from once a week to twice a day, the internet connection starts (selectively) dropping off. While I cannot browse the web, some of my browser add-ons and Skype/Dropbox are working fine, and Windows almost always indicates a perfectly working connection.
If I am streaming through YouTube or other sites, the stream continues to play after the connection loss.
For AV, I use a combo of Malwarebytes and AVG Internet Security.
I just built this desktop and everything seems to be working well accept the connection I want saved on my computer. Every time I turn my computer on I have to select the conection manually and enter the WEP key.
Internet cable connects to modem; modem connects to TP-Link router; router connects to XP Desktop. I have three laptops (2 w/ seven & 1 w/ XP) needing connection to router. One of the OS-7 laptops connects fine to WPA2-PSK router. My main concern is the XP laptop which has an Edimax wireless cardbus that I can't seem to configure it correctly. And I have all the information that I think I need, i.e., SSID, Network Key, Physical Address Value, IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DHCP Server Value, DNS Server Value, and more credentials.
It works well - I can connect from TESTPC and LAPTOP (bottom left corner) to SERVERS A/B/C (bottom right corner) without any problem. Everything seems to be routed perfectly, however from SERVERS A/B/C I cannot ping TESTPC and LAPTOP, and I can't even establish an RDP connection.
I was told to setup static routes or NAT, but I am at a loss on how to do it. I am using an EDIMAX BR-6424NL wireless router
So I have recently bought a modem which has Wi-Fi in it..I use every holidays! When I bought the modem, I set the modem correctly by putting its CD in my PC & following it..But the last week when I opened the internet, the internet was telling that DNS server failed to look-up.. or something like that in my Google Chrome. So I put the disk in my PC.. And again I set the modem correctly by following CD's instructions..Then the internet started to work again..Now today also when I opened the internet the same manner it shows a message.. set the modem again..So my question is why is this happening ??And yea also the Wi-Fi's password setting has been also changing from WPA to Open..Is there a way to set this modem correctly.. without being setting the modem everytime.
Am facing problem with dhcp.Edimax router is not leasing ip to windows xp and its showing as 169.x.x.x ip..i was actually using straight through cable and it worked for 1 day..after that i tried changing to cross over cable.so after that it worked for 2 weeks..then again its not getting ip from router?
i have edimax AR-7084gA router, wired to computer and printer and, working wireless to laptop.I want to connect, wireless, to other devices. but cannot remember password.
I'm having a problem with my aforementioned Edimax, I just can't seem to login to my router homepage, this happened after I reset it, the leds are indicating that the internet is being received etc it just won't let my PCs connect to it because I have to login to the config to reset it.
I have an Edimax BR-6228nS and I set it up as an access point a while ago. I also changed a lot of settings on there and even turned off the DHCP. I need to use it as a router now so I am trying to get into the configure page. After resetting the router, the IP address is still the not the default one. I still can't access it. When I type in ipconfig in the command prompt all it shows is the ip address that connects to my modem. This is what it shows when i type in ipconfig /all. 192.168.15.3 only directs me to my modem's set up page. This is confusing me, is the router not being recognized?
Cannot setup NAT on edimax router I ve got this setup: [URL] It works well - I can connect from TESTPC and LAPTOP (bottom left corner) to SERVERS A/B/C (bottom right corner) without any problem. Everything seems to be routed perfectly, however from SERVERS A/B/C I cannot ping TESTPC and LAPTOP, and I can't even establish an RDP connection.I was told to setup static routes or NAT, but I am at a loss on how to do it. I am using an EDIMAX BR-6424NL wireless router ?
I bought myself a new Edimax Modem/router that generates a WiFi network. I installed it successfully but not all of my house is covered well by the network, I even have some 'blank spots', where there's no WiFi at all. What can I do to improve the coverage? I have no problem to buy additional equipment, as long as my entire house would be fully WiFi-covered.
Wireless network is fine - both my laptops get on without a problem. The Edimax PCI-E adapter:
a) can't connect, or
b) has limited connectivity, or
c) has full connectivity but no web pages work, and the router can't be pinged, or
d) works (for a short while)
The above options are seen pretty much evenly, except for the last one which achieves disproportionately low representation.Have attempted to uninstall/reinstall drivers. Have attempted to delete all profiles. Have seriously considered ripping out the PCI-E and throwing it into the next-door neighbours garden, but fear this may damage the motherboard.
I have a new HP lap top which I have connected to the net thro my edimax 7266 routerI also have another lap top and desktop connected via this router. This other lap top I can connect either wired or wireless so the router seems to be working perfectlyThe problem is when I enable the HP laptop wireless adaptor and try to connect to the net . As soon as I do this the orange light on the router goes solid from blinking and I cannot then access the net from any of the computers either wired or wireless. I have to disable the HP wireless adaptor and reboot the router to get a connection on the computers.
I am trying to connect a wireless router (EDIMAX br-6228nc) with a ADSL router (NETGEAR). i assigned the LAN IP of the ADSL modem to 192.168.1.1, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, and enable DHCP server.then i connected a LAN port from ADSL router to the WAN port of the wireless router. i assigned IP of the WAN port of wireless router to 192.168.1.10, subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 and default gateway to 192.168.1.1 now on the LAN side of the wireless router i assigned IP 192.168.0.1 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0 enabling DHCP server.on the client pc i selected the setting of automatically assign IP setting (which it got 192.168.0.100, default gateway 192.168.0.1) but my client pc is not able to access the internet.
I have a TP-Link TL-WN723 USB WiFi adapter attached to my laptop, which runs WinXP Service Pack 3. It successfully detdcts the WiFi provided by my Edimax BR62-04Wg router, but when I try to connect, it cannot obtain an IP address and cannot connect to the network.
- The very same WiFi adapter can connect to other routers without any problem - Any other device can connect to the very same network provided by my router without any problem - Using the WiFi adapter with other computers does not work
Thus, it seems that the problem is somewhere between this specific router and WiFi adapter. Here is an interesting detail though:If I try connecting to my WiFi while a LAN cable from the router is plugged into my computer, the wireless connection establishes too. Even if I later unplug the LAN cable, the wireless connection continues to work. But it won't establish the connection without the cable plugged in.Here's what I've already know/tried:
- Rebooting the PC - Re-installing the WiFi adapter's drivers - All drivers and firmwares are the newest available - Re-starting and reconfiguring the router - Using the Windows client for wireless networking and the client included on the WiFi adapter's CD - Changing the router's connection type to any available option: Access Point, Station Ad-hoc, AP Bridge WDS
None of these had any effect except for one:
- When I changed the router's connection type to Station Ad-hoc, I could connect wirelessly even without the LAN cable plugged in, and I had Internet access. However, in this case, other devices, such as smartphones could not detect the WiFi connection.
Ping goes up when I start playing games, random packet loss however if I move my computer the packets get sent again. Hardware problem or software problem?
I have been having issues with my wifi for the past one week, I earlier had a NETGEAR router which was 2 years old and keeps getting disconnected. I thought it could be a router problem and bought myself an edimax couple of days ago. This one is much worse, it keeps getting disconnected very 20 mins. I have an iMac, alienwareX51, think pad Lenovo, iPad, iPhone, ps3 and BB.
i have with my Edimax router. I could not make any progress with Edimax personnel in Taipei.
If i connect my vista box directly w/o the router, i can see that port 21 (Filezilla) is open, using WhatsMyIP.org | Port Scanners/Sniffers
When I insert the Edimax br6215srg router, the port is in timeout as reported by aforementioned site (guess the port scanner gets no synack nor reset back to the syn it sends)
The router is set to "disable firewall" or to "enable firewall and DMZ enabled" with as client's ip the one that is configured in the router's dhcp table for the vista box. The NAT module is set to forward port 21 to the same ip. ipconfig confirms that i do get the ip programmed in the router's dhcp table.
I do not want to believe that this edimax box is unable to forward connections!
i have a Edimax usb adapter Ew 7612HPn which is brand new, & its not scanning any networks though the light flashes fast, i tried on both my & my dad's laptop, & same problem. Also tried different Usb cables still the same, but sometimes it worked, but mostly dosn't work.Kindly note that i am using this on my vaio Cr 354 windows vista 32 bit SP2 home premium. From day1 it was like kind of faulty, i mean it worked but kind of disconnected in between, but now it dosn't work at all just keeps flashing the blue light.
I'm trying to set up a personal ssh server on Lubuntu 13.04, but I've been having a few problems.
So far i've accomplished this:
I can connect locally, through my internal IP address, I can ping myself through my external IP address through an external internet source(Mobile phone hotspot + Different computer)I have a free dynDNS running, so that I don't have to type my external IP address. It works (if i connect to that IP locally, it forwards to my router)I set up port forwarding in my router, temporarily disabled my personal and the router's firewall too.
The problem I have is that I cannot connect through ssh from a different computer outside my network: The usual response that I get is "Error.. [etc] No route to Host".
I tried using the 'canyouseeme.org' service, and the response is the same.
I use an Internet Service Provider called iiNet, and apparently they have some per-account port blocking features, which I have also disabled from their site.I am running short on resources. DMZ does not work either, default port (22) does not work, custom port does not work either (9222, 9512 or 12222).
So I'm guessing it's either a router fault, or a fault on the ISP's customer-level firewall.
[code]....
I'm connected using a Edimax 7811-nu adapter (Default driver doesn't work, had to install a fixed one)
I'm using a BoBlite Router and the firmware version is BoBLite1500.
My main Internet connection is a frontier modem /router It is on the main level of the house. In the basement I am trying to set up the cisco E3000 through an Ethernet cable.
i have a big network of about 50 computers and have only one internet connection .i have applied for other connection so that if some time i link ll be down we can still work on other. how to configure other line on the same router
My router drops my internet connection at least once a day. When the router does this, my wireless network connection disappears from the network list. I have to disconnect router from plug and plug it back in to work again. If I hard-wire laptop to router or modem, I still do not get internet unless I unplug and re-plug router.
My router at work is working fine, at least for LANing...as for its connection to the internet, it keeps dropping the connection. The router will be connected to the internet for say an hour or 2, sometimes more, and then it drops the connection. Usually a router restart(either from the web interface or by pressing the on/off button) fixes it, but only for a while.
My internet connection keeps dropping when using my router. I will have internet connection for a few hours and then it will drop. I thought it was a bad router (I had a Netgear N300 that is about 2 or 3 years old) so I bought a new Cisco Linksys EA2700 N600 router and the same thing happens. I can connect to the internet through just the modem and it works fine. Is is just a setting or something? BTW, I have an Arris cable modem that is several years old and my ISP is Suddenlink, and am running Windows XP Professional SP3.
I just purchased a Vizio Dual-Band HD wireless internet router, completed the steps on the quick start guide and I can get internet connection using my desktop but I cannot get internet connection using my MacBook. I went to [url]... and in the top right corner, it says "Offline" on the router. How do I make it say "Online"?
I have a router that I have not used for a year or so...I just recently moved to a new location and was trying to set it up...I completed the set up disk several times but I keep getting an error that says my router is connected but there is no internet access...When I plug the port directly to my PC I have internet...The router that I am using is Linksys WRT54G...I have even tried resetting to factory settings and I still can't get it to work.
This issue has been going on for a few weeks now, i will be using the internet and it will suddenly drop out. My computer is connected to my router, this connection is fine it is just the INTERNET connection that drops out. When this happens all of the computers on the network are affected.
