View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer is running on Windows 7. It has had no prior internet connection problems. It is wired to my DV-2020 router. My internet suddenly disappeared, as in, it doesn't work anymore. I'm not sure as to when it disappeared due to my personal absence, but from what I heard it was either during 'starting a game' or 'installing firefox add-ons updates'. Internet does work on other computers sharing the same internet (wired and wireless). On the computer that does not have access to internet it gives a "local area connection - No Network Access" and "local area connection - unidentified network." So far I've tried:
A system restore.
Restarting the router (at home as well as the provider)
Changing wiring.
Disabling / Enabling.
Disabling virusscanner.
I am running on Windows Vista and out of no where I cannot connect to my network %70 of the time. When I can connect I have local access and a full bar signal but no Internet access. But when I have internet access every page takes forever to load (if it even loads). I tried reinstalling my drivers and even hanged some registry stuff. My wireless card 8.11g by Broadcom.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am working on a friends HP laptop that suddenly lost it's ability to see any networks at all. When I try to enable it in network and sharing it stays disabled. Just to be sure it wasn't hardware related I ran a ubuntu live cd and was able to connect with no problems. I tried updating the drivers,installing and reinstalling the network card with no luck. I also tried letting windows repair it but it says there may be driver problems.

Just tried to setup my wireless adapter and after it tells me to plug in my adaptor I get.Wireless adapter setup requires that wireless connections are managed by Microsoft windows.

I am running a Windows Home Server machine called "mserver" that has an IP address supplied via DHCP.There is also a local webserver running on port 8089 that I use to access media from several devices (Android Phone, Blackberry Playbook & HP Touchpad...i.e. not Microsoft).When I had the BT Homehub3 in use I could access the webserver via http://mserver:8089 and it would be loaded on all devices. With the WDR3600 used in place of the Homehub3 it cannot resolve mserver into a local IP address on a non windows device. I can access it via http://192.168.0.xxx:8089 so the route is there.Does the WDR3600 have any local DNS resolution? I repeat the BT HomeHub3 CAN do this, so why can't the TP-LINK?

I was happy about the guest-access feature of E3000 when using the comcast, where I can directly connect my e3000 to the modem (basically you can see two network, one is XXX, the other is XXX-guest). However, the ATT uverse has a gateway that combines the modem and router together, in order to use my e3000 instead of the built-in router of the gateway, I have done a LAN-to-LAN connection and I can access internet without any problem. But in this case, I can not enable my guest-access feature. When I use Cisco Connect to set up e3000, it says "cannot connect to your router". how to set up the guess-access feature of e3000 when using ATT uverse.

It never says not connected though...it always says connected and excellent signal strength but when it won't access internet I can look at my modem/router and tell by the lights its not working even though it says connected. This time even though I reset everything like normal I still can't access internet. I thought it might have been my router so I went and bought a new one and still nothing. Doesn't work wireless or through local connection. Both say connected but nothing. When I do a diagnostic I get the DNS 0x2afc and HTTP 12007 errors. Both computers won't connect so I'm thinking it has to do with my actual router settings or modem.Both Windows XP and Windows 7 laptops won't work.

Set it all up according to the booklet, and ran into some trouble. When connecting through wireless, I only have "Local only" on the older laptop and desktop PC, but full internet access through the smartphones and the netbook. But, when I connect through LAN with the laptop, I have internet connection (only through LAN, not wireless). I suspect this also occurs on the PC, but the two are no where near each other to attempt. I installed the latest firmware version to no avail, and had done a full reset on the router and reinstalled it.

After messing with it for a few hours decided best to just reformat and fix it that way. After a fresh reformat (Vista Home Premium) we get the exact same issue, with a clean install. All other computers connect with no issue, this one doesn't wireless or wired, just "local only"

I have recently purchased and installed a TL-WR841N wireless router to replace an older system. After following all of the quick install guide and the like I got it set up and working correctly both wired and wireless. However one laptop in the household, an Acer Aspire 5315 running Windows Vista 32bit, does not connect. Using an ethernet cable works fine but the wireless signal is seen and appears to connect but does not find the internet and states Local Only Access.When connected wirelessly I also cannot ping the device but when connected with a cable I can and get a good return.The firmware is up to date on the router and the latop is full up to date with drivers and windows updates.
I have a WAP4410N that only allows my laptop local access, no Internet. Here is the scoop:
- Other users connect to the WAP and get Internet access
- Laptop connects to many other networks and has Internet access
- Laptop is running Vista
- ipconfig /all has address, mask, gateway, DNS, and looks normal
- Adapter is Atheros AR5007 802.11b/g with latest drivers
I brought one WAP4410N Wireless-N Access Point and successfully configured with out fail as suggested on getting started and I am able to access internet but unfortunately I am unable to access our local servers and services which in LAN (mail-postfix, chat-spark) like.

One with Windows Vista and the other one with Windows XP. Both the same problem. There is a wireless connection with excellent signal strength but no internet access. Rebooting of the notebook works but after I close HDD folder window the issue comes back. The issue exists only with Wi-Fi connection. Everything is fine using LAN connection.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using an E2500 as an access point, which is working fine. I have an Ethernet cable on one of the LAN ports of the E2500 connected to a LAN port on my gateway router. The LAN address of the E2500 is 192.168.7.3 and the LAN address of the gateway router is 192.168.7.1. Clients on the E2500 wireless network have no problems getting to the Internet through the gateway router. Clients on the E2500 wireless network can reach the E2500 local management port at 192.168.7.3 on port 80. On the gateway router I am forwarding WAN port 8083 to LAN address 192.168.7.3 at port 80. But I cannot access the E2500 local management interface via the gateway router. The E2500 should see the request as from 192.168.3.1 due to NAT in the gateway router, right? I can reach any of my actual access points this way, just not a router being used as an access point. Security/design limitation of the router?
View 2 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to setup a local DNS server to manage small office local-only domain names for our servers. i have the DNS working properly (resolving local machines and using the ISP dns if it can't). so i put the DNS server ip into the "Static DNS 1" field of the router settings. the other 2 static dns fields are empty.the problem is that the router is still using the ISP dns server as the primary and my local dns server as the secondary. i verify this in two places. first, if i go to the "status" tab, DNS 1 shows the ISP server while DNS 2 shows my local DNS server. secondly, if i connect to the wireless device with a linux-based machine, the /etc/resolv.conf file shows the nameserver ips in the same incorrect order.
