View 3 RepliesMy wireless on my computer won't hold a connection for any longer than 30 minutes. I've checked the drivers, the wireless router, and scanned for viruses (several times) but nothing seems to work. In the last three months, I think I only had one occasion where the connection remained stable for longer than an hour. It doesn't matter what router I use or where I am. It has to be my computer.
I have a Compaq Presario CQ57 and I have had it for about 6 months.
after purchasing a 11yr.old compaq presario 1200 from the swap shop,I was told by the seller,I would need usb ethernet adapter.I bought the adapter, but still can'get the internet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two computers, one is a Dell Dimension 8300 while the other is a Compaq Presario Desktop. Both use Microsoft Windows XP OS 32 bit and are networked using a Microsoft Wireless G-Base Station MN-700 on the Dell and a Wireless G-Adapter on the Compaq. This arrangement worked quite well for some time and recently they stopped communicating with each other. I reset the base station as described in the manual. When I did the same for the Adapter I could not enter the correct Wireless Security Key. I tried copying the key from the Base to the adapter but to no avail. Do I have to uninstall both units from their respective computers and reinstall from the CD provided?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm checking a mini laptop for a friend and found out that the wireless does not work on it. First I tried checking the button to activate it and it didn't work, even if the indicador says it's off/on it doesn't have an effect on the network adapter. The PC is running Windows 7 32-bit. I downloaded the Ralink 2011 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter driver and tried reinstalling it. Funny thing is that the installation went smoothly but in the driver details the name of the driver shows the default Windows one, 3.0.0.14 I beleive. Tried again to install the driver since I thought it was a bad download or something but the same results. I've tried with the Atheros driver but the installer said that since the card is not present no drivers would be installed, so I assume that the model is the Ralink. So far the network card appears disabled on the network adapter window, and if I try to enable it, it remains disabled.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWireless suddenly stopped working on my laptop.I have a Compaq 6715B, and yesterday while I was browsing the web, my wireless stopped working, it gave me a notification in the "Safely Remove Hardware" thing near the clock, "The blah blah blah Network adapter can now be safely removed".The wireless hasn't been working ever since. It's not showing up in the device manager or anything.I've swapped the card itself, swapped the whole LED board (the board with the power button, wireless button, etc.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Compaq nc6220 that I just got up and running after an extended stint as a paperweight. It had previously worked great in terms of connecting to the internet via wireless. Now nothing. It let's me go into Wireless Network Setup Wizard and offers to let me set up new networks, etc...But as far as I can tell, it isn't detecting any networks (though they are all around me and detected on other computers) and giving me the option to log in.There is no "Device Manager" option that I can find on this computer, which some forum posts have suggested to other people with similar problems.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased a Netgear wireless box for my boyfriend a couple months back and we have just recently set it up. My iPad and laptop connect with no problem at all but his mother's computer, the Compaq, won't connect to the internet unless it's directly connected to the router/modem.
I've gone to the support section of the Netgear website and tried what they told me but I keep running into needing to log on to my router. The default password isn't working and neither is the one we tried to set up (really my bf tried to set one and somehow managed to screw up the whole thing; I just went to bed cause I was happy we even had wireless).

We have screaming signal @ 50 megs. However my wifes Compaq Laptop keeps kicking her off the internet. The homepage will load, and sometimes MAYBE one more screen. But then nothing else will load, and the signal bars at the bottom right of the screen get an exclamation point. No other computers have ANY problems, nor does the XBox (which is the only thing that is actually hardwired).

I have an HP Compaq 2510p laptop which I rebuilt with Windows XP at work, and for some reason, any internal wireless card i install doesn't pick up a signal. The driver is installed properly, and device manager shows it as being functioning, but when i go into view available connections, it says none found. I have tried 2 separate cards, with the same issue. Now i did try an external USB wireless card, and that works fine, but nothing internal will.

I tried restarting my laptop, wireless adapter, and the printer, I also try restarting the spooler service but the attempt was not successful. Try unchecking SNMP and the printer is online but I can't print from it. So, I decided to uninstall the printer and reinstall it again. This is where another problem occurs. When I try reinstalling it, my laptop seems to be unable to find the printer (I have entered the IP address of my Printer but the printer still can't be found). Oh, and by the way, other laptop seems to be able to print a document from that printer.
