May 8, 2012I have a modem and router in my bedroom connected to a computer. I recently bought a TV that has wireless netflix. The TV seems to not connect to netflix because of the signal strength. The internet and all the other applications work just not netflix. The TV in the room adjacent the router works fine, Im guess because its much closer. I thought I was a genius when I bought a second modem and router to place next to the TV however it wont connect because it seems to know that I'm trying to connect a second modem. Is there anyway for there to be two modems?

Mar 31, 2012I have a wireless network in my home, mainly for internet access via any of the 3 or 4 machines we may be using. Normally, there's not a problem with normal surfing, email checking, youtube, etc.My wireless router is a Linksys WRT300N, and the wireless adapter card in my desktop is a D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G510 Wireless PCI Adapter. In my previous home, the router was in the very same room as my desktop, and had no problems to speak of with this setup streaming Netflix. Now, however, I'm set up in an older home, and the router is removed from my desktop by a few walls and tight rooms. I've noticed that my network status icon on the bottom right of my desktop seems to always show "Signal Strength: Very Low".I like to use my desktop sometimes to stream Netflix. My Netflix streaming sometimes goes OK, but typically it just freezes and shows the Loading bar, and sometimes doesn't really start back. It is so bad sometimes, that I am not willing to wait it out, because I know from this experience that even if it starts back up, it will just freeze again. The video is not downloading and caching fast enough.

Sep 19, 2012Have an E1000 router, Samsung Blu Ray (for Netflix). At night watching Netflix is not possible with all the rebuffering and drop in picture quality. So we took the wireless laptop and set it next to the Blu Ray and started the same movie on both. The laptop played without a problem and the Blu-Ray kept rebuffering. I will probably try to hard wire the DVD but to make it permanent, will be a real pain. Having wireless would be much better.

Then I can watch a few more minutes and it stops again. And again, and again......I have cable inernet service (Brighthouse Communications), with the E42000 connected to the cable modem. Then I have a Panasonic WiFi adaptor (DY-WL10) plugged into a USB port on my Panasonic Viera TV. I have the latest firmware on the router (1.3.03, build 14).I have done the routine of re-cycling the network by re-setting the router (and re-setting it up) and the modem.The chat session guys had me do the following:
1) Uncheck “Filter anonymous request”.
2) Click on Setup Tab - Here you will see MTU.
3) Select Manual & set the size to 1364
4) On Wireless tab, clicked on manual, change the Channel for the 2.4 Ghz network to 9.
5) When we tried it on the 5Ghz wireless they had me set the channel Width to 40MHz Only, and set to channel – 161
I also tried setting up port range forwarding. He knew the port information, and walked me through it.I have re-set the router to factory default settings, re-installed the software, and tried the previous steps twice more (except the port forwarding, because without my friend, I am not sure exactly how) I know enough to not have multiple WiFi devices going at the same time while trying to watch Netflix, but I know that I get good WiFi download speed tests at the location of the TV with an iPad (3.6 MBPS).I have done troubleshooting on the internet service. It has a good, strong continuous uninterrupted speed.I have tried this on two different TVs (similar Panasonic models, bit with the same WiFi adaptor). Problem persists on both TVs.I tested it with a 50’ LAN Cable running from the router to the TV. Netflix worked when wired!Next test I want to do is to stream Netflix on the iPad, right at the TV and ensure that works.To me, this seems like a wireless router setting issue or an issue with the Network Adaptor, or an issue of communicating between the Router and the adaptor.

Jan 15, 2013My internet/gaming/netflix has been slowing down lately, some parts of the day there are no problems, other parts (4-10pm) its impossible. I live with one roommate, I have my own router and he has his own router. Mine is a Netgear router, not sure what his is. Ourinternet, with no problems is: 65ping, 4.8 mbps, and .60 upload. When its busy: 180ping, .30 mbps, and .09 upload. I constantly get kicked off xbox live and its super frustrating. The thing is, when my roommate is gone I am able to stream netflix in HD without any problems.However, when he's using netflix the quality of mine drops to the lowest signal and most times disconnects me from xbox live. I'm not sure if this is an ISP issue or a router issue

Feb 21, 2011I am about to buy a NMP (WD Live Hub) to put my local video/music/pic content on and drive many TVs in my house. These NMP also have services like Hulu, NetFlix, etc. I plan to sign-up for NetFlix and do the unlimited streaming thing via the WD Hub. I have a 5Mbps broadband pipe which is right at the suggested level for HD streams.....but I think the DIR-655 can prioritize streams/video ?
plan to put the Hub on Static (Reserved) IP address on my network....however, I've never messed with a Router and prioritization. I assume it is something to do with the port(s) used, etc. I have no idea the ports that will be used by the Hub for NetFlix, how/where in the DIR-655 I can accomplish this how to ID the ports used would be great....eg. some variant of Netstat command, etc ?

Sep 18, 2012I got no code, and as a matter of fact have no Internet connectivity to my Bluray player. When I go to my Bluray setting tab and run a network test the MAC Address checks out but fails when it gets to IP Address. My Bluray is plugged directly into my router and it still shows no Internet connection between the two, even though my x-box 360 has no problem nor does my computer. When looking at my network settings the IP Addresss boxes all have numbers in them, the Subnet Mask boxes two of four boxes have numbers the others are zeros, the Gateway boxes are all zeros, and the DNS Server boxes are all zeros. I read many of the posts in this forum and all problems seem pretty similar to mine.

Feb 9, 2012I have a DIR-655 that's wired via 40' of Cat5 Ethernet cable to a bus near my Sony HDTV. I get great reception and speed and all the available HD channels via my Time Warner Cable subscription.
My problem is that since subscribing to NetFlix (streaming only) when I stream a NetFlix movie I get "reloading/pauses" every few minutes. NetFlix says it requires 1.5 Mbps but Internet speed tests show I'm consistently getting between 5 and 10 Mbps.
I also have a Sony 3D DVD Player that is NetFlix enabled and when the pausing gets too bad I switch to it and sometimes it works, at other times it pauses just as frequently as the TV.
I always turn the PC off when watching TV.

Feb 25, 2011I just bought the e1000 router today and I'm already having trouble. I got it setup the first time and all my computers set up with it and it works fine for internet. Everything is snappy and responsive and I don't have any of the problems I did with my old belkin. However, I am unable to connect to the router using cisco connect or the web interface. I need to forward ports, configure wireless security, etc etc. All I did was disable the guest account through cisco connect, and then when the software just sat there doing nothing with the spinning circle in the middle, I opened task manager and killed the process to get it to go away. Now I can't connect using either cisco connect or the web interface.

Feb 20, 2011I can't seem to connect my laptop using my ethernet cable, but I'm able to connect it to the Internet using my wireless connection. Whenever I plug in the cable, my computer tells me that the LAN connection is connected, but I can't open a web page. I tried connecting the cable onto another laptop and it worked, so I don't know what's up with the LAN connection on mine.

Sep 19, 2011I have a new broadband connection and I was kinda facing problems connecting wirelessly with my router.So I did go to my router page and then cloned my MAC book's mac id, and it worked fine. I'm able to connect to the internet wirelessly. However, I can't connect to internet from an Windows XP lappy. I have removed, re-added the network, the network is very much identified but the laptop doesn't wanna connect to the internet wirelessly.Both the laptops MAC Book pro and Dell(the one which has XP loaded) were able to connect without any problem in the previous ISP's case but XP doesn't wanna connect to with the new ISP.

xbox 360 sees both the 2.4 network (ssid = network1) and the 5.0 network (ssid network2) when it does its scan.
Initially, xbox showed network strength for 2.4 network at 3 out of 4 bars and 5.0 network at 1 out of 4 bars. Connects to 2.4 network just fine, Won't pull an ip address and reports "Not connected" when I select the 5.0 network.
I tweaked the wireless settings per some suggestions I found in this forum and now it shows the 5.0 network at 4 out of 4 bars signal strength. Also turned security on and off and xbox 360 reported the changes in security on the 5.0 network. So the xbox 360 is definitely seening the 5.0 network. and can tell if it is running WPA2 or not. If it can see the 5.0 network and recognizes what security and network type (infrastructure) is set, would would stop it from connecting to the WRT610n router and getting an IP address? No mac filters or firewalls are set and, again, connects just fine and gets an ip address if I select the 2.4 (network1 ssid) instead.
