Dec 13, 2010I have connected the AIR-BR1310G and one meter apart I installed a GPS antenna. When the AIR-BR1310G is up, the GPS stop detecting satellites. Using a spectrum analyzer I found that the AIR-BR1310G transmits a frequency of 1575 MHz along with the normal 2.4 GHz one. How can I eliminate this annoying 1575 MHz signal from the AIR-BR1310G?

Aug 26, 2012I've just installed LMS 4.2, like it a lot so far. In the Fault Monitor, the Device Name column shows the device's IP address rather than the host name. We need for it to show the host name, for ease of troubleshooting; most folks don't have the IP addresses memorized. Likewise, when an email is sent out for an event, the managed device field also shows up as the device's IP address.
The devices were all discovered with their IP addresses rather than a host name...should LMS have automatically found their host names? Regardless, I manually updated all of the device's host names, yet they still display as an IP address in the fault monitor.
Also, it appears I need to figure out some way to throttle alerts. One particular device will report an event (ie a temperature out of range) dozens of times in a polling period...several per second, even though it's the same alert.

Jan 3, 2013I purchased a new N600 dual band router (2.4 and 5.0 GHz). I set up security to use WPA/WPA2 PSK (AES) on both bands. The devices that can see the 5.0 band could connect without issue, however those devices that can only see the 2.4 band (older devices like the Nintendo Wii, my desktop computer with wireless, and iPhone 4's could not connect). In troubleshooting, I finally disabled security on the 2.4 band and everything connected without issue, but I cant figure out how to successfully enable security on both bands at the same time.

I have managed to get it all connected up and working but am suffering frequent dropouts while streaming music. I have done a little reading and have tried changing a few settings on the router but have found no improvement. My set up is as follows.
-Modem connected to WRT610N Router
-Desktop Computer connected to network via wusb600N dongle
-Airport Express connected via wif
-Using Iphone 4 as remote
Is there a way where i can set up the airport express on a total different frequency to everything else in the house i.e laptops iphones etc to prevent these cutouts.
Linksys Wireless Router :: E3200 Some Random Disconnects On Devices Using 2.4GHz Frequency
Jul 24, 2011I just recently (4 days ago) purchased an E3200 router. I noticed some random disconnects on my devices using the 2.4GHz frequency.I installed inSSIDer from MetaGeek to see what was going on and noticed some strange behavior where the Amplitude on the 2.4GHz randomly drops dramatically. Sometimes its once every 10 minutes, other times it happens 5 times in one minute. I can't figure out what is the cause. The 5GHz signal is steady as a rock.
What I tried so far: Set the Channel to the least crowded channel instead of auto, upgraded the firmware, restarted the router all to no avail. This is annoying to say the least. It doesn't affect anything unless you are playing video games or running a remote desktop session, where a single disconnect is disastrous. I just upgraded from an old linksys wrt54g, tried a netgear n600 which was terrible, then swapped it out for the Cisco E3200..

Feb 16, 2013I have a westell DSL modem/router supplied by Frontier. It connects only to the telephone line and via cat5 to my main router, a cisco EA6500. Everything seems to be working fine, I just would like to understand a few things.I disabled wireless radio on the westell, enabled it on the cisco, so I have just one WIFI network active.I know I am not supposed to have two DHCP servers active, but I did not know how else to be sure the CISCO would get a good address, so I left DHCP active on the WESTELL, and also enabled it on the CISCO to provide service for the rest of the net.The WESTELL admin interface is at 192.168.1.1, and assigns addresses in this range.According to the WESTELL, the CISCO is at 192.168.1.27, which I assume was assigned by DHCP.The CISCO has an admin interface at 10.144.224.224, and assigns addresses in this range to all the other devices on my net.As I say, everything works.I can access both router admin pages with a browser on my main 10.144.224 network, and can ping both.But I don't understand why it works.What rules allow me to talk to the WESTELL admin page from the CISCO private network, but do NOT propagate the DHCP access which is at the exact same IP address.
It is great that it works. But should I really have disabled DHCP on the WESTELL and assigned a static address to the CISCO? Or is this situation actually provided for in the rules, not just a lucky accident that it works?Why does the scanner say that the CISCO DHCP is "Unknown" rather than Authorized or Unauthorized? Is there something I can or should do to get it to be "Authorized"? I can ping 192.168.1.1, but not the 192.168.1.27 (times out), and yet when I ping a non-existent 192.169.1.3 I get "Reply from 192.168.1.27: Destination host unreachable".

Jan 24, 2013This first started happening a couple of weeks ago when a piece of software was put on to the computer off an external hard drive. First the wifi would turn itself off but after turning it back on it might happily stay on for a few hours before switching itself back off.The day before yesterday it decided to start turning itself off straight away. I plugged in with ethernet, uninstalled the old drivers and reinstalled new ones, this didn't seem to do anything so I turned on my firewall and titanium defense and after a while it decided to start working again.Earlier today I connected my DSLR camera to my USB 3 port to download pictures, this killed my wifi straight way. I reconnected with ethernet and I'm not sure what I did but now the wifi has decided to work again.

Jan 14, 2013I have been using the Asus RT-n53 for about a year now and had little to no problems with it. Lately, my wife's iPhone has been dropping its connection to the RT-n53. It was probably a problem with her piece of apple crap, but I thought I would update the firmware on the RT-n53. I found that my firmware was way out of date, so I updated to the latest version.
With the newest firmware installed, I can no longer detect the 5Ghz band with my PlayBook. Before the update, all of the other devices in the house were not 5Ghz capable, so my PlayBook was the only device that used the 5Ghz radio on the RT-n53. Now, the SSID for the 5Ghz band just isn't there any more. In the configuration settings for the RT-n53, everything points to "it should be working"... 5Ghz radio is enabled, SSID broadcast is enabled. I have tried changing the wireless mode from "N Only" to "Auto" to "Legacy". I have fiddled with channel settings, encryption settings, etc. Even tried changing the SSID a few times. Multiple reboot, and still, the 5Ghz SSID just doesn't appear on any devices.
Cisco Wireless :: 250 One AP's B/g/n Radio Is Not Active
Oct 1, 2012I've recently installed a Cisco 2504 WLAN Controller with (5) AIR-LAP1042N-A-K9 Access Points. Everything is working fine as far as the APs connecting to the controller, and clients being able to connect to the WiFi and get network access, etc. The one problem I have is that one AP's b/g/n radio is not active.
If I go to the WLAN Controller management web page, and look at the Access Point Summary, it shows that I have five (5) 802.11 a/n radios active but only four (4) 802.11 b/g/n radios active. I know which AP is affected and clients can indeed connect to that radio using wireless 'B' but not 'N'.I have only one WLAN configured on the 2504 (WLAN ID 1), and one AP group name (default-group) so there are no special groupings of APs. I have been through every page of the Controller management page with a "fine tooth comb" and cannot find any place where I could accidentally be turning off the a/n radio for a single controller.

Apr 19, 2013The network consists of 133 RAPs/MAPs/1131 APs and all joined the WLC. When I check the 802.11 a/n radio tab, I see only 129 APs and the 802.11 b/g/n tab I see 133 APs. I found out that 4 LAP1131 is not showing in the 802.11 a/n tab. I tried resetting the AP thru the WLC and still the don't see it in the 802.11 a/n tab.
