I am looking to implement Zone-Based Firewall on some 2900 series routers (2911 and 2921.) Based on some research I've done it looks like the cisco2911-sec/k9 and cisco2921-sec/k9 bundles should be all I need. Is this correct, or is there some other licensing component that needs to be enabled for me to implement Zone-Based Firewall?

We are looking at doing some switch replacement. These switches will be in for ~7 years. We need POE for a VOIP phone system, and 10gb uplinks back to the core. We want to have the ability to go POE+ in the future.
We were quoted from our vendor for:WS-C3850-48P-S with 2x715w Power supplies. It looks like the data sheet says that to get POE+ you need 2x1100w or 1x1100w & 1x715w. Do we need to step up to the WS-C3850-48PF-S?

A newer router that I got from a friend, a CISCO Linksys WRT310N, is not connecting to my XP computer via a CAT5e cable. It willconnect for about 5 to15 mins, then lose connectivity. Ihaven't tried with a faster CAT6, since my dog chewed through my other one,and I have yet to get a new one. I used an older NETGEAR B/G router and it worked fine.

I currently have two SGE2010's with a 4-port LAG configured between them. I'm looking to add another two SGE2010's and I want to add redundancy at the same time. The switches are currently in standalone mode. I don't have fiber connectors and was planning on just using copper for the uplinks.
My questions are:
- Is it possible to use stack mode in conjunction with 4-port LAG groups to create redundant 4-port links between all of the switches? The documentation says that ports 24&48 are reserved for stacking - does that mean I can't specify a LAG instead?
- If 4-port LAGs aren't possible, does that mean that these switches max out at 1Gpbs uplinks if you use stack mode?

We recently purchased a SF 300-48P to replace a Layer 3 3Com switch that died. I've sucessfully put the switch into Layer 3 mode and assigned ip addresses to each of the VLANs but I cannot figure out how to implement routes for those. Here's some info on our network and what the previous switch had. [code]
Not sure if this can be translated into the Cisco or not.. If i try to create an IP route like these i get errors that the Gateway can be a route.

I have a SG300 Switche working in layer 3 mode.I configured 3 VLANs on the switch, assigned all ports, given IP addresses to VLANs interfaces, etc.Now I want to implement ACL to permit or deny access between vlans and hosts. Can I apply an ACL to a whole VLAN (in or out) like Catalyst models?I mean apply the ACL to the entire vlan or the only way in this model is to implement that ACL port by port?Every time I have a new port configure to work in a Vlan I have to implement the ACL?

I'm administrator of small network. I wish to replace my old switches by new SG300-10 and SG300-16 managed switches. I have big trouble in my network because everyone can assign IP his neighbour (or any IP) to his network card. I have policy that IP is 172.16.1.X with x is home number. Could I do that IP based ACL assigned to port where is cable from home example 29, permit only IP 172.16.1.29 (mas 255.255.254.0) (from specified port only permit packets with specified source IP (LAN user IP) other (if user set not his IP) is denied) ?
I want know that before buying equipment. How to configure that ?
I think IPv4 Based ACE, action: permit, source IP: 172.16.1.x (nr of home), widcard 0.0.0.0, destination: any, protocol: any, source port: any ?
and in ACL Binding, I have to bound this ACL to port where user whose IP is in ALC is connected?

I want to remotely access Cisco 500 switches via TELNET and WEB BASED from a server. I dont know the ip addresses for Cisco 500 switches which are configured as backbone which the ip address assigned on the network is static ip address. Specifically I want to get their configuations inorder to get their specified assigned vlans on the network. I know the ip addresses for their specified cisco 500 switches' gateways. I know that cisco 500 switches can be accesses through web. Is there other ways to solve the problem apart from going onsite and connect to the cisco 500 switches using network cable since cisco 500 swithes dont have console ports?

We are considering order the AP541N for our network. A few questions...
1). Are there multiple models of the AP541N? or just one cisco part number?
2). I am assuming the basic antenna comes with it. If this is something that I need to buy seperate.
3). Are there part numbers for the POE injector? Need to know part numbers on the AP541N and the poe injectors?
4). We would buy a couple of these and run them in cluster mode. My understanding is that I won't need a controller. Do I need to buy a certain model to use the clustering or is that available on all the AP541N?
5). Can I have this talk to active directory to authenticate users? Is that tough to do? Do I need install some kind of agent on a domain controller? I have configured the ASA to use Active Directory for authentications. Should it be any more difficult that that?
I have setup a few other Cisco APs before and am generally familair with wireless. But, I am not a "wireless expert" and don't have any experience with this particular product.

This is fine as it is listed on their website as well. However, since we also have the "A" model and now the "E" model, can we place an A model on one end and an E model on the other and make them communicate with each other?

ACE 4710 deployment model. We'll be doing an eval later in the year, but I'm just looking to understand the architecture. We have a stack of 3750 switches with a single VLAN (10.1.1.0/24). Connected to that stack is a pair of web servers (10.1.1.5 and 6) that we want to provide load balancing/failover for. Some of the clients are located right there on that same VLAN. Other clients may be coming from other spots in the infrastructure. It sounds like I could put a pair of 4710s connected to that stack of switches, in a single arm deployment? And then the virtual IP and the real servers would all be 10.1.1.0/24. Maybe use an etherchanel to connect each 4710 to two 3750s?

I have one AP541N and need to extend the wireless network with a second wireless AP. Which models of AP can I use with the AP541N to achieve a 'cluster', please? Is it just with a second AP541N or can I use other Cisco APs to achieve the cluster?
Am I correct in thinking that doing this will allow wireless clients to 'roam' seamlessly between the two APs?

I've been experiencing a problem with my existing 3845's that may mean I may have to upgrade to a newer faster platform.Currently I have ISP links to 2 providers and run BGP. Each ISP link plugs into a separate 3845 NM-1GE fiber port. Both links are 100Mb ethernet handoff. There is an average of 50 - 60Mbps traversing each link during peak times. I am experiencing a large number of Input errors on both ISP links almost all of the errors are ignored. I opened a TAC case and I'm told that the 3845 can not handle this much traffic along with an ACL on the ISP interface and BGP. TAC engineer tells me that the RX ring of the interface is being overrun and tuning buffers will not make any difference. CPU util never goes above 25%.

I have run into a problem replacing an old Linksys BEFVP41 with a SA520. The BEFVP41 had an address on the LAN defined as a DMZ. That address was another router. It is in the same subnet as the local LAN and I am not sure what ports it uses. It is controlled by an outside group and requires much delay and paperwork to change the address. The new SA520 will only support a DMZ if it is in a different subnet than the LAN. Any way to simulate the old DMZ function on the newer router? I have not yet been able to obtain a list of all ports that should go to the second router. Didn't know if there was a way to forward all ports like the old BEFVP41 does by setting a DMZ address.

I am trying to decipher the differences between the two models of the 1921 router. One has an IP Base IOS and the other has a Security IOS. I have an ASA so I don't think I need all the Security IOS bells and whistles on an internal router. Although, does the IP Base IOS allow for trunking and sub interfaces? I definitely need that and on CDW's website it says that the 1921-Sec/K9 w/ Security IOS includes 802.1Q and that spec is not listed on the 1921/K9 IP Base IOS model.

I am able to view clients, rogue APs, rogue clients etc, but the information is faily inaccurate. Thus, I am trying to calibrate using the RF calibration models. I have created a new model and am attempting to add data points. After adding the client MAC, selecting the floor plan and clicking next, the floor plan loads and a message pops up stating: "Could not enable S60 across all relevant controllers on this floor". I click OK, and select "point" as the calibration method. When I place the calibration point on the map and click GO I am presented with the following message: "Failed to initiate data collection. Please make sure your client is connected on the wireless network and then try again." Both of these messages can be seen in the attached screenshots.
I have confirmed that the client is associated to an AP located on the map.I have confirmed connectivity of the client.I have used both the Cisco AIR-CB21AG-W-K9 (CCX V5) and the integrated intel wireless card (CCX V4).I am running WCS 7.0.172.0, MSE 7.0.201.204, and WLC 7.0.116.0.
