View 1 RepliesRange is not good for my E2500 router. My house is on one level and spread out quite a bit. Have the router near my main computer. If I take my laptop or Iphone into my bedroom (about 70 feet away-thru 3 interior walls), I have no wi-fi. If I put the router in the middle of the attic

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo Basically I have the dell d810 and the wireless on it is less than 20 ft and I cant figure out why.. My other dell laptop has perfect connection all the way down stairs and this d810 doesn't even get full connection from 10 feet away!!! I have tried to take out the wireless card and put it back in but that didn't work so I am just wandering if it is a driver issue or the wireless card is just screwed up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhich Intel network cards runs well with E4200 (latest FW)? I mean good connection and transfers rate. I have two clients with the same cards (Intel 4965agn, latest driver) and I got transfer rates at 144 Mbps with both radios working (2.4 and 5GHZ on the E4200). When I try to use 5Ghz only it drops to 54 Mbps and for 2.4Ghz it drops for 130 Mbps. Could I reach better transfers rate with a Intel 4965agn card (300 or 450 Mbps)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys E1000 router and I have a pc wired to it and 2 laptops connected wirelessly. From my main pc I can see one of the laptops and vice versa, but cannot see the second laptop even though it is on the same network. They are all running win7 64-bit. I can't get the laptop on the same homegroup. I reset the router but I have the same problem. If you go to the router's web page all 3 pc's are detected. If I wire the laptop directly to the router you can see it on the network, just not wirelessly.

There are NO INSTRUCTIONS -
do they go to the "boss computer" and then? I just don't know and feel too stupid to say I'm not sure. It's probably very easy but, it's been years since I've worked on Networks.
I'm trying to setup my linksys e1000 router as an access point and I cant figure out how to log in to it to change its settings. I've done every reset procedure I can think of but when I power it up it still shows up as a "security enables network".

I went to my default e1000 ip address (192.168.1.1)to try to do the setup, but after the setup (not sure if it even worked/did anything) it still would not connect. How can I get my Linksys e1000 connected again? I'm connected directly through my modem right now.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to Open some ports on a Linksys E1000. When I run the Shield Up test to see the status of my ports the ones I want to open are closed which is normal but when i try to portforward any port the status goes from closed to stealth. That really does not make any sense to me why when trying to open a port it becomes even more secure then if I did not try to open it. I turned off the firewall and the only thing I see might be the wireless security on the router. I have no idea what that means tho so idk if it is even a firewall.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy modem CAN connect to the Internet but my router CANNOT. I've called my ISP (Brighthouse) and went through a whole process of bypassing the router, restarting the modem for 2 minutes, and restarting the router for 30 seconds. Then I even got assistance from the router's maker (Linksys) by switching the IP address of the router, they said this could be the issue if my modem had the same IP address. I switched it to 192.168.2.1, but still no luck. I do not know what to do now. The new router is a Linksys E1000. I haven't got the specs of my modem yet.

I have tried changing the Linksys router IP to 10.1.10.x and turning off DHCP. It will not allow me to the internet nor allow the PC connected to it to connect to the PC that is attached to the Comcast Router. I cannot replace the Comcast as it is a combi router/modem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had an E1000 for a couple of years that worked OK. Then it went nuts--sporadically dropped the signal, wouldn't show its web page, etc.--maybe a power surge, who knows? So I tossed it and got a new one on the theory that it would be a plug in replacement .The new unit had a good signal, but also wouldn't show its web page, so I couldn't configure security. I removed Network Magic and everything else I could see pertaining to the old unit. However, the CD for the new unit still gives me: " Your router has already been set up. You need to use an Easy Setup Key that you can use to get other computers connected." Needless to say, I don't have such a thing. Cisco Connect is not installed at this point, so I can't go into it to create one.How can I purge the remains of the old unit so the new one will install properly?
