View 1 RepliesI have a Linksys E1000 router. The firmware is 2.1.00 Build 7 August 30, 2010. I would like to turn on or enable the guest access function. I have gone to 192.168.1.1, and do not find anything there about guest access. At the Wireless tab, the choices are Basic Wireless Setting, Wireless Security, Wireless MAC filter, and Advamced Wireless Setting. Tfhan
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys E1000 wireless-n router. I bought the router originally so I could get my Nintendo DS on Wi-Fi. I then realized that DS games require a WEP Key, but my E1000 defaults to WPA/WPA2 mixed mode. My laptop and my Wii connect online with the default settings just fine. My 3DS also seems to be able to connect with the internet router, but not Wi-Fi, for some reason. So when I'm on Cisco connect, I go to Router settings, it brings my web browser to "http://192.168.0.1". From there I go to the Wireless tab, and then click on Wireless Security. I've tried multiple times to change the Security Mode to WEP, and even disabled security. But after I save the settings, the connection on my laptop is lost, and I have to reboot my router all over again, and am back with the default WPA/WPA2.

Later i have connected another PC. The packets got dropped. But when i connected the original PC again, the packets flow started again. So, i have a doubt. Will the packet flow get establish, when the original PC is connected again to a port which is applied with port security violation "Restrict"?

View 10 Replies View RelatedSo, I have this router at home a WRT150N. I put in access restrictions so my siblings won't stray onto unwanted pages.I enabled SPI Firewall Protection and what do you know, it worked. The next day though, we didn't have an internet connection.I checked everything with the modem (power cycles, etc.) and then I tried the router. Upon disabling SPI Firewall Protection, the internet connection came back.I tested it yet again, to see if it really was the SPI. Enabled and bam, no internet access again. I made sure to select "Allow" in the Access Restrictions for "Internet access during selected days and hours" making sure also that "Everyday" and "24 Hours" are selected. Now my question is, what do I need to do in order to enable my Access Restrictions without having to lose internet connection via the SPI Firewall?

I have put below command at global level but somehow it is not happening.

Do I also need to check for NATing or some other things apart from above command?
I've installed version 4.8.02.0010 of the VPN client onto a Dell Latitude D820 laptop. When I attempt to connect, I get this message. There are no firewalls running (I disabled the Windows XP firewall) and I'm running under Service Pack 2 with all of the latest security patches from Microsoft.
I even tried un-installing the client and using an older version (4.8.00.0440) and it reports a similar error in the Log file.
I'd prefer to NOT have to wipe the laptop and reinstall the O/S if I don't have to. This is the only laptop that I've experienced this problem with but it's also the first Dell Latitude D820 that I've attempted to install the client on.
Is there a problem with the Dell Latitudes and the VPN Client? Is there another way around this other than a wipe and re-install?
I have a Linksys WRT610N wireless system with WPA-PSK security and this works fine with several computers but now one computer detects the wireless security as WEP and can thus not connect to the router. I have tried to manually connect to the router with correct security WPA-Personal (TKIP) and correct password but then the computer says "settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network".How can I get the computer to detect the correct security? The computer is running Windows 7 home premium.

From my main pc I can see one of the laptops and vice versa, but cannot see the second laptop even though it is on the same network. They are all running win7 64-bit. I can't get the laptop on the same homegroup. I reset the router but I have the same problem. If you go to the router's web page all 3 pc's are detected. If I wire the laptop directly to the router you can see it on the network, just not wirelessly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to Open some ports on a Linksys E1000. When I run the Shield Up test to see the status of my ports the ones I want to open are closed which is normal but when i try to portforward any port the status goes from closed to stealth. That really does not make any sense to me why when trying to open a port it becomes even more secure then if I did not try to open it. I turned off the firewall and the only thing I see might be the wireless security on the router. I have no idea what that means tho so idk if it is even a firewall.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy modem CAN connect to the Internet but my router CANNOT. I've called my ISP (Brighthouse) and went through a whole process of bypassing the router, restarting the modem for 2 minutes, and restarting the router for 30 seconds. Then I even got assistance from the router's maker (Linksys) by switching the IP address of the router, they said this could be the issue if my modem had the same IP address. I switched it to 192.168.2.1, but still no luck. I do not know what to do now. The new router is a Linksys E1000. I haven't got the specs of my modem yet.
