I just purchased a new laptop and because I didn't remember my router password I reset it. although I do have internet connection it is not secured. I ran the original program which came with the router way back and that isn't working either.

Later i have connected another PC. The packets got dropped. But when i connected the original PC again, the packets flow started again.So, i have a doubt. I put in access restrictions so my siblings won't stray onto unwanted pages.I enabled SPI Firewall Protection and what do you know, it worked. The next day though, we didn't have an internet connection.I checked everything with the modem (power cycles, etc.) and then I tried the router. Upon disabling SPI Firewall Protection, the internet connection came back.I tested it yet again, to see if it really was the SPI. Enabled and bam, no internet access again. I made sure to select "Allow" in the Access Restrictions for "Internet access during selected days and hours" making sure also that "Everyday" and "24 Hours" are selected.Now my question is, what do I need to do in order to enable my Access Restrictions without having to lose internet connection via the SPI Firewall?

I've installed version 4.8.02.0010 of the VPN client onto a Dell Latitude D820 laptop. When I attempt to connect, I get this message. There are no firewalls running (I disabled the Windows XP firewall) and I'm running under Service Pack 2 with all of the latest security patches from Microsoft.
I even tried un-installing the client and using an older version (4.8.00.0440) and it reports a similar error in the Log file.
I'd prefer to NOT have to wipe the laptop and reinstall the O/S if I don't have to. This is the only laptop that I've experienced this problem with but it's also the first Dell Latitude D820 that I've attempted to install the client on.
Is there a problem with the Dell Latitudes and the VPN Client? Is there another way around this other than a wipe and re-install?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that my pings on all my devices go up when I enable QOS.This even happens on the PC which has high priority.The ping times go up by an average of 6ms, so if I normally have a 14 ping to a host it will now be 21.I've tested this by turning media prioritization on and off and everytime its turned on this seems to happen, although sometimes it requires a router or pc reboot before the issue arrises.

The next screen gives me two options: " Wireless Security" or "Network Lock" and under network lock it states "Network Lock: Not enabled". I then click on the enable network lock button and I get the following message "network lock could not be enable." No matter howmany times I do this I get the same message. So, why is Network Majic not letting me lock my network? It has always worked before and just recently did this. View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to stream music files to my A/V system. After weeks of encountering problems, I discovered that UPnP was disabled (by default) on the router. After enabling UPnP on the router, bingo......it worked. My A/V system has a Yamaha A/V receiver, which is a networking receiver capable of net radio and accessing/playing files on my PC. Net radio works fine. The problem I'm having is that when I shut down the A/V receiver, turn it back on, I can't access the files. I have to disable UPnP, save changes, and then reenable UPnP, save changes. When I do that, all is well and my receiver "sees" my PC and files. Shut down the receiver, turn it back on, back to square one and have to do the do the disable/enable routine again. PC is WinXP, using Windows Media Player 11. Seems the "enable" UPnP desn't "stick", even though it shows enabled on the setup page.

I was happy about the guest-access feature of E3000 when using the comcast, where I can directly connect my e3000 to the modem (basically you can see two network, one is XXX, the other is XXX-guest). However, the ATT uverse has a gateway that combines the modem and router together, in order to use my e3000 instead of the built-in router of the gateway, I have done a LAN-to-LAN connection and I can access internet without any problem. But in this case, I can not enable my guest-access feature. When I use Cisco Connect to set up e3000, it says "cannot connect to your router". how to set up the guess-access feature of e3000 when using ATT uverse.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a BEFSR41v3 and am trying to enable UPnP on the router. However, after I activate UPnP in my browser and the webpage reloads (after the common status screen that says you have to wait 5 seconds and you will be redirected). I am prompted for a password. But for some reason, it will not accept any password that I enter. In order to even get to the settings to UPnP in the first place, you must enter the correct password to access the settings. So I believe I am using the correct password, so why is it not accepting the correct password? I have had to reset my router to factory default settings (by pressing and holding the reset button for 30 seconds) multiple times because of this. But each time after enabling UPnP it will not accept the default password of admin nor will it accept any password that I assign it afterwards. I have noticed however that the "Filter Internal NAT Redirection" which should be set to enabled by default has been set to disabled even after I have reset the router. I have activated UPnP on the router before without trouble but have had to reset the router to factory default settings afterwards because of other reasons.
