View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently got a Motorola NVG510 (from AT&T, they changed our internet plan and sent a new router) and since then I've had problems with Skype. I think I've narrowed the problem down to there being no upnp on this router to enable, and Skype doesn't like that. So, is there any way I can make this option available, or some other way to 'simulate' upnp so Skype will play nice? I read somewhere else that "IP Passthrough" may be an option, but I'm unsure about that.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't know how to access the router now to reset my system. My wired computer works fine. I have used this router without issue for several years. I used windows Xp and now I installed windows 7. After that i cannot connect to the router. I tried with 192.168.1.1 in my browser and with the setup CD. I just cant enter to setup the router. On the other computer the internet is functioning perfectly. I use the same cable, so the problem is not in the cables.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've updated latest firmware & installed 5 pieces of WRT54GH at our building. Then I noticed each of them disappear from wireless connections list and IP scan list (no ping response). If they might not response to pings but they serve as switch without any problem, I mean there are no wired connection problems, they work as switch all the time. The problems are -again-
1-) Wireless lost and / or 2-) Ping response lost
Turning them off and on again will fix them. But I'm tired of bosses who complain about their faulty pc connectivity.
Don't they run 7/24? I tried to restart them on every 12 hours programmatically/remotely but it couldn't work.
Ive been using this router for about 4 months now. suddenly it wont let me connect wirelessly through itouch nor through imac. it says Unable to join the network "linksys" eventhough "linksys" is indicated to be an available WIFI network and that signal is full. Problem is still the same even after i reset the router a couple of times pass 30seconds, set the security to No Password.if i connect the router with a cable it connects seamlessly and allows me to go online.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a linksys WRT54GH wireless router running firmware v1.0.01 build 001.It's setup with DHCP.My desktop computer is connected to the router via cable.I also access the connection using my laptop, via wireless. The problem is that after I start using the desktop (wired connection), I can't connect from the laptop using wireless. It happens every time. I then turn the router off and back on again. After this procedure I can successfully connect from both the desktop (wired) and laptop (wireless).
View 6 Replies View RelatedI purchased WRT54GH wireless router back in 2009 and it was working fine except for past 1 month, wherein the Internet Connection was being disrupted 15 - 20 times in an hour. I thought it could be fault from ISP end; however after investigation by ISP we found the fault was not from ISP as, when Wireless was unable to establish connection with the DSL Modem it was failing but when tried to connect laptop with the DSL Modem it worked fine (Wired connection). I did try the Settings mentioned in an earlier post to change the UPnP and the Beacon Interval etc. This however doesnot seem to work as the internet has been disconnected almost thrice since then. (Approx. 15 - 20 mins). When the router is unable to connect to internet I restart the Wireless Router and the DSL Modem. After restarting, the Internet connectivity works fine.
Below are the Advanced Wireless Settings from Wireless Tab:
Authentication Type: Auto Shared (Default: Auto)
Basic Rate: Default (Default: Default)
Transmission Rate Auto (Default: Auto)
CTS Protection Mode: Disabled Auto (Default: Auto)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beacon Interval: (Default: 100 Msec, Range: 20 ~ 1000)
DTIM Interval: (Default: 1, Range: 1 ~ 255)
Fragmentation Threshold: (Default: 2346, Range: 256 ~ 2346)
RTS Threshold: (Default: 2347, Range: 0 ~ 2347)
I just bought WRT54GH router. I have one PC (running Ubuntu) connected via Wireless.Every 5-10 minutes I get disconnected for a short period of time (about 10-30 seconds). During that period I am able to access router configuration page, but can't connect to the "outer" world... Surely it's not about my Internet provider, since connecting the PC directly to the Internet cable works fine with no "disconnections".

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a WRT54gh, and the signal strength is extremely poor. Full strength at about 15 centimeters, Then drops to 50% at 50 centimeters. By 1.5 meters, the signal is extremely weak or not visible. Have updated to the latest firmware, factory reset and power cycled. There are no other wireless networks or devices that would provide interference Have experimented with channels, thresholds, transmit type, encrypted/open, intervals etc..No luck. Due to signal dropping off so quickly it seems like a transmit strength issue rather than an issue that can be solved in the menu. I'm wondering if there's a way I can console log-in to the Linux kernel and check the transmit strength and perhaps bump it up by a few DB? It's out of warranty so a solution involving opening the case is also acceptable.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the E4200 router, trying to change the security option to WEP to see if my WD TV live will connect to it, becuase right now with the WPA2 its not connecting.
I dont know why my WD TV live wont connect to the router, its visible in the list though!!
even my PS3 is having troubles connecting to the E4200 with the WPA2 security.
I was wondering if the AE1000 is the best option for the the E4200 wireless router? Ultimately I want an adapter that can take advantage of the full potential of the router (as in the 450 Mbps wireless speed).

I am on a MAC using OS X 10.7, have Cisco Connect Version 1.4 (12005.2) and the firmware updated today.
I just discovered that my wireless download speeds are 5Mbps, compared to 16Mbps if my laptop is connected directly to the modem or wired through the router. Uploads are 2Mbps either way. I have a WRT54GS v.6 with firmware version v1.52.8 which I updated today, completed by setting factory default through the router webpage after I discovered this discrepancy. The firmware update did not improve the download speed appreciably, if at all.Should the wireless connection be that much slower than the wired connection through the router? If not, what sort of issues could I be having to account for this?
I did just replace my modem when I discovered I was having erratic speedtests and that corrected that problem. That is when I became aware of the wireless issue, so not sure how long that has been the case. I have Charter's 16/2 HSI, living in a sparsely populated area with solid internet service. There is no external nor internal interference on this 2.4Ghz band.
I have a Arris DLS with 12 Mbps Download and when I Connect my laptop directly I get the same speed as 12 Mbps but when I do the speed test with my linksys I get only 5 Mbps. How to upgrade to the new WRT54GL or WRT54GS?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know this is a "home" router, but there are a lot of common vulnerabilities that can be detected.
1. Is there any intent to offer a firmware update for the Non Cloud Connect option.
2. Does Cisco intend to make the Cloud Connect Firmware "feature complete" compared to the Non Cloud Connect?
3. Is there going to be support for Stateful DHCPv6?
When accessing the E3200 router using then ERROR 501.Not Implemented. That method is not implemented. The error occured after enabling the "Local Management Access, Access via: HTTPS" option on the Administration > Management tab.I tried different browsers FireFox (version 10), Internet Explorer (version 8,9), the same error was displayed and no acces granted to the E3200 router. I reseted the router and tried the latest firmware 1.0.03 build 9 Feb 1, 2012, but after enablib the option the issue occured again and it is not possible to connect to the router.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen my desktop is on wireless, I get max burst of 2 MBps (Megabytes per sec), or about 16 Mbps (Megabits). Ok.I recently got a pair of Netgear MCAB1001 coax over ethernet adaptersStill getting about 2 MBps, 16 Mbps. The MoCA units are rated for 100 Mbps, or about 12 MBps I'm only getting 17% of rated speed. I know that the performance depends a lot on how many coax splitter you have in the house, maybe even the type of frequency the splitter filter out, how long the runs are, and other hardware cable stuff. But, I wonder why I keep maxing out at 2MBps on both wireless and the MoCA coax setup. Is that just a coincidence? Or is my computer setup weird? This is my test setup:LAN RouterPort 1) Computer #1Port 2) MoCA #1MoCA #2: connected directly to Computer #2.Basically, there is a switch on coax network between Lan Router port 2 and Computer #2. All ports are rated at 100 Mbps, your standard 10/100 ports. I can verify this on the network status.
