Linksys Cable / DSL :: WAG325N Cannot Connect With LAN Port
Mar 5, 2011
I have a lynksys Router WAG325N Wireless+ADSL2 .... It was working fine till last week.. Now its not working, When I reset I can connect through wireless on IP 192.168.1.1... But I cannot connect with lan port(checked with all the ports).. Even its not pinging...My system firewall is turned OFF... I am using a straight Cable.. I Updated the firmware.. but same result.. I dont know more about configurations.. Is it hardware issue or configurations?..
I tried putting in for a Return # number for my modem but was told I can't get one even though its under warranty because I can't find the receipt. The modem LAN port 1 keeps dropping to 10mpbs instead of staying at 100. Is there anywhere I can get firmware 1.00.13 for this modem.
I've just attempted to uprade the firmware on my WAG325N from 1.0.6 to 1.0.12 the latest, over wireless. It will not work with Ethernet. It started to upgrade and failed with a garbled screen in my browser. No message to reset. Tried a complete reset several times. Pressing reset, power off for 30 secs. When I attempt to connect wirelessly with browser, just get a garbled screen, with no menus.
I have a D-link wireless-N USB adapter whos MAC address starts with 1C:xx:xx:etc. Unfortunately the QOS GUI does not allow me to enter a MAC address that starts with anything but a zero (0). This is a javascript verification so I guess it would be fairly simple to modify this. Is it possible to have the firmware updated so these MAC addresses are accepted?
Basically sometimes I suffer from serious lag! I want to best setting to get the most out of my modem. What are the reccomended setting for this modem?
I'm using the Linksys Wag325N which always served me well. I've always been able to get my VPN to my workplace going. Until now. I've edited a hostfile on my mac (etc/ppp/ip-up) to get a route setup to be able to use internet and the vpn at the same time. But now the vpn would work no more. Why do i think that it is a router problem? Because other computers in my home network aren't able to establish the vpn they used to work with for a long time.
1. is it possible that my /etc/ppp/ip-up on my computer messes up the router?
2. Is there a way to completely reset my router? Tried "restore to factory settings" which did not work. Is there a "harder" reset?
is it possible to connect the wan port of a cable modem to a lan port of the home network? the reason is, i need some wifi access and more ports to my wired network, and the most reasonable solution would be a cable modem router with wifi and 4 ports just plugged into one of my routers.
I want to know if WAG325N supports cisco's IOS so that i can configure it using command line interface? Is it possible? If not, how would i change ethernet interface speed setting so that it can support 100 mbps of speed. Because when i connect through LAN i'm always getting a full dulplex 10 mbps LAN connection automatically.
I am trying to connect two D-link 24 port switches thru cat 6 cable, distance is less than 50 meters, but its not working but if i connecting it with a Laptop i am able to connect to the network. But if i connect the switch in between it fails i tried changing the switch and cable but no use anyone have a clue how it fails?
I have a LAN port cable, and I have one end connected to the back of my router.Where does the other end go, so I can receive wireless internet connection of both my Toshiba Satellite Laptop, and Gateway Desktop. First I had the LAN port cable connected at the back of my router, and the other end was connected at the back of my desktop. A little green light lit up at the back of my desktop, saying that it was grabbing signal. I could use the internet fine, and my laptop could grab wireless signal fine as well. I was missing around my router, trying to see what mark it was, and the LAN port cable came off, and when I plugged it back in, i couldn't receive signal, and neither could my laptop. Now the only way I can grab signal is by connecting the WAN port cable from my modem to my desktop, which means I cant get wireless signal on my laptop. Now when I do connect my LAN port cable to the back of my desktop, I try connecting to my wireless connection, and when I go to Network and Sharing Center, it says Connected (With full bars).
I have a Dell Laptop Latitude 610 and I have not been able to connect to the Internet via the ethernet cable port for some four months now. I've tried downloading software from Dell's web site, I bought (and returned) and USB to Ethernet cable, only to find out that it was a model ahead of what this machine needs.I've asked local repair place (Microcenter) what it might be, but they'll only tell me after I pay $70 just to open it up.Another repair guy said that it is probably the motherboard and it wasn't worth fixing. (Yet if it was, wouldn't the entire computer decide not to work at all?) [code]
I Just bought this Linksys Modem/Router and i still can´t believe that my cheap dlink DIR600 or my OLD SAGEMCOM can set IP to all my machines but this WAG120N cant!and Worse, how will i set port forward if i don't know which IP the machine will get?is there any firmware or MAGIC ??
I have some hardware on my internal network which I want to send udp packets. I can connect using telnet to it prooving that TCP and port forward works but when I try to send a UDP packet externally it fails.I can however send the same packet internally and port forwarding works fine.My router is Linksys by Cisco WAG320n.
I'm trying to open some ports for my webserver, I've configured the static IP and forwarded port 80 to my server's IP and I checked the port on canyouseeme.org and it says it's closed. I've tried multiple ports (21, 22, 7878 whatever) and all do the same thing.
So my next step was to try DMZ on the server's IP .. still no happiness .. ports stay closed. I checked this on multiple computers and it still won't open any ports for any machines on my network.
Updated to the latest firmware .. didn't make a difference. My ISP doesn't block any ports (didn't have any issues on my old router.
I recently swapped routers from a dlink to a Cisco WAG120N, from what I can see the wireless is flaky on this device and has led me to switching the wireless off for my sanity and to stop the complaints of my family when they attached to an access point that suddenly disappeared and then reappeared and disappeared, you get the picture.
What I cannot understand is why when it comes to port forwarding did the developers add the local LAN prefix so for example as default the local LAN interface is 192.168.1.1 and the port forwarding screen is completed to forward a port to a host with address 192.168.1.X by stipulating the prefix I am unable to use the router to port forward to hosts that live beyond by local LAN.This added to the wireless being disabled is becoming a very expensive branded door stop.
I got a spare WAG160N lying around which I want to test to see if I can get a better range with it than my current router. My internet is connected via a cable modem which I connect to the ethernet port 1 on the WAG160N - which in my experience with other wireless routers - will work and broadcasts internet through wifi. However I can't seem to get it to work. After doing a bit of searching I found that some people say this isn't possible on the WAG160N while others say it's possible if I switch the port 1 to "Use as WAN port" in the ethernet setting tab page (Tried it, still doesn't work). I can obviously connect to the router setting page but no internet is flowing through (And the internet LED does not light up)
What settings do I need to use to make this work or is it indeed impossible? It's in bridge mode only at the moment with other settings untouched from factory defaults. One person says it's possible but I can only get it to work with 1 device because it's assigning the public IP on the cable modem onto the one device - but I couldn't get this to work either.
Got BT Infinity installed today, thought I would ditch the Home-hub 3 and go back to my tried and tested WAG320N. Got it configured, set the first ethernet port to WAN and got a connection.Ran speed test.net and comes out at 26Mbit.using the Home-hub 3.0 I get 37.5MBit.
I have got a Linksys @ Home HG200 V2 G Gateway. I am trying to setup port fowarding but its not working. I have gone onto the routers port forwarding setup page filled it out but the port is still closed.
apparantly there is a bug in WAG160Nv2 firmware (version:V2.00.20 which is the latest). we had problem connecting to an outside smtp server using telnet. then out of frustration i reset the router to factory settings. then suddenly connecting to smtp server on port 25 was not a problem. then a few hours later, without doing any special changes to the settings, it's now again not possible to telnet to external server. apparantly something prevents outbound connections to port 25 to be established
I have recently purchased a Linksys WAG320N (firmware V1.00.12) to replace my old ZyXEL P-660H-D1.I've managed to set it up roughly the same in terms of the ports I want open and port forwarding, with one exception: I can enable a port to be forwarded to an IP address on my network, but I can't find anywhere to set it so that the port is only allowed from a specific IP address outside of the network, e.g.
Accept port [some number] from [some Internet address] into 192.168.1.2 but reject attempts from others.I thought it might be in Access Restrictions but that only covers internal IP addresses.
i am trying to get my router to change ports for certain tasks for eg FTP Port 21 i dont want to use 21 and telnet Port 23 i dont want to use 23 ,is there a way of routing ports so that i can get port 21 say to route to port 786 instead so i can ftp from port 786 and so and and so forth
I am looking to permanently reset the default remote management port of the MODEM DPC3825 to something other than 8080. how to PERMANENTLY change the port from 8080? In the web interface under administration I have several times set it to something else other than the defaulted 8080 but when the modem is rebooted or reset, it goes back to the default 8080.
over my port forward GUI in my new linksys x3000. When I try to save any new port forward rules (new or using predefined), the setting are not saved when I get back to the configuration screen again. Nothing seems to get configured.
Have just uppgraded firmware to v1.0.01, but no difference.
On the WAN port, there are 4 pins that are traced to the internal serial traces. Where can we get the cable that will fit into the WAN RJ-45 port and have a serial connector on the back end. It may be called a Cisco Debug Adapter, but we haven't been able to find?
