Linksys Cable / DSL :: X2000 / Amber Light On Setup Button?

May 4, 2013

I have a Linksys X2000 modem.  Sometimes I see the "Wi-Fi Protected Setup" button glowing orange (amber?) for no apparent reason.  The manual says that it "blinks rapidly in amber if an error occurs" but I don't think any device is trying to connect wirelessly at the time.  How can I determine if there is a problem?

We have one Cisco ACE in our data center which is working fine but has Amber light on front & Rear.
I read the document & it shows that either it is a system fault or internal fan failure.
I am sure it is a fan failure because if there was any system fault then ACE dont work properly. should we replace the hardware?
unfortunatley we dont have support contract & i am working to get it one.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 6509 Amber System Light On Both SUP32

Feb 20, 2012

I have (2) Sup 32 configured in a 6509 chassis. I have 1 power supply plugged into the wall and 1 power supply that is not plugged into anything but it is in the chassis and has green light to show that it has been recognized.
My problem is the "system light" on both sup32 remains amber and does not turn green. I have done show modules and sh diagnostics and sh power and everything checks out OK. Also there is an amber light on "active" on the 2nd Sup32 which I am assuming means that it is in standby mode so that would be correct.
Q: My question is could it be the power supply that is not plugged into anything causing the "system light" to stay amber and not turn green?
Q: Will this amber system light on the Sup32 stop the 6509 from running as normal?

Linksys Cable / DSL :: X2000 DSL Connection Keeps Dropping?

Feb 1, 2012

I installed my new X2000 a couple of days ago and my ADSL connection drops several times a day. Sometimes it will stay connected for a few minutes and other times it will stay connected for several hours. The only way to get it connected again is to reboot.I have used 2 other routers (D-Link DIR-300 and BT Home Hub 3.0) on the same line and haven't had any disconnection issues with them, so the problem must be a hardware/software fault on this router or I have set it up incorrectly.Judging by a number of posts I found online, there seems to be a general problem with DSL connections dropping on the X2000, especially on earlier firmware versions. I have subsequently upgraded to the latest firmware (Ver.2.0.01 (Build 4)), reset and reconfigured twice, but nothing has worked so far.Unless I can get this working in the next few days I am going to have to return it, which is a shame because the performance of the router is great when it's working!Would someone be able check I have configured the DSL settings on the router correctly?

Linksys Cable / DSL :: X2000 Internet Is Half Going

Aug 12, 2012

So its the 3rd day of my nightmare to set up this cisco ADSL router...
DSL connection:

So I live in Ireland and im on Smart telecom ISP,  Basicly the internet is half going - like skype is going and i can chat with my contacts, page is going but really SLOW, page is going until search, page is going until the mesure thing facebook loads like in 10min.. a lot of pages dosent even go...From main telephone socket to the router is only 2.5m telephone cable(NO HOME PHONE) so no splitter or extension... (Changing the MTU dosent change anything...only if i set it on auto then w7 shows that internet is connected, skype works but no pages at all is loading and is dropping with timeout error.. if i set to manual then something loads on pages...) The cisco connect software does NOT do good because I can go until the username/pasword step, I input THE CORRECT details but he just sayes that he cant authenticate the username & pasw... and so i cant get past that step and the programm is no good.... only way is to set up with!

Linksys Cable / DSL :: Cannot Access Webservers In LAN With X2000

Sep 18, 2011

I run a X2000 router for some weeks and it works properly basically - with one exception.WIFI attached devices (Win7, Vista, Android) can go to the internet without having any problem. But they cannot access my local servers (Media-Server, Storage server). I access with normal settings (not the guest) but the behavior is similar to what I expected from the guest-WIFI: protect resources in LAN.Anyway, for historical reason I have also another WIFI Hotspot in the LAN what is connected to the X2000 via cable. If the same devices connect to this hotspot, everything works fine. So the problem isn't caused by the servers.
