Linksys Wireless Router :: How To Connect To EA4500 In Bridge Mode

Jan 16, 2013

I configured the EA4500 to work in bridge mode, to use it as an accespoint for an existing network (Linksys WRT610N). It gets an IP address (, but does not offer a wireless network (the ethernet ports do offer network acces). When I try to access the configuration on IP address I get the Linksys Smart Wifi page asking for the password. When I enter the password, a message "Waiting" appears and that's all. It keeps me waiting forever and I cannot access the configuration settings.I have tried to reset the router (30sec. reset button, power off 30sec, power on) but the result is the same.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Vigor 120 Bridged With EA4500 Extremely Slow Connection

Feb 1, 2013

I've set up PPPoE on my EA4500 router with a Vigor 120 modem in bridged mode and it says an internet connection is established, but the connection is extremely slow on all my devices. When I run the speed test within the EA4500 firmware it appears fine, but I cannot load any web pages on my laptop or other decives because the connection is so slow. The connection is slow with both wired and wireless connections. I've tried changing the MTU settings with no success. I've also tried using a different router and connecting the modem directly to my laptop and using PPPoE within the laptop and these both work fine, so I think it's clear there is a problem with the EA4500 router itself.
I'm just using the Vigor 120 to authenticate and connect to the internet itself, with the router in DHCP automatic configuration mode. I think this is causing a double NAT.

Linksys Cable / DSL :: WAG54G2 Switches To Bridged Mode Every Few Hours?

Jun 28, 2012

I have a WAG54G2 working fine for more than 2 years now. It has the initial firmware version 1.00.10
Recently I mode it from my home to my store, where I have a already working CCTV setup. Initially the router did not work, but once the service provider removed the mac-id binding (with my previous ADSL2+ router) the WAG54G2 was connecting on DSL. However it never got a DNS value. Currently I am using it with a fixed DNS.
After a few days of working I noticed that my remote viewing for the CCTV was not working. On checking the router settings I saw that the router had defaulted to no settings at all. Changing it back to PPPoE did not work since the page would not render completely. Resetting to Factory settings also did not work. However simply switching off the router and restarting it worked. I let it go then. The same thing happened again within a day or two. Each time restarted the router seemed to solve the problem, however temporarily.
I have the SPI firewall enabled also I have application port forwarding set for HTML port 80 forwarding to say port 1234.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Unable To Connect To EA4500

Oct 2, 2012

Just purchased a ea4500 router. Have setup multiple computers/devices already and works great. This computer (HP dv6000 running Win Vista home prem) however will not connect to the internet. It states that it is connected to the router (computer sees router), using the cloud connect app on my iphone i can see this computer, but will not allow access to the internet (local connection only). It works fine with the wired connection. When attempting to use the cloud connect software, it says it was unable to complete the install. Have attempted trying while connected by wire as well, same result. Have deleted the wireless connection and allowed software to find connection, still same result, cannot install. Wireless worked perfectly with previous router (WRT54G) three days ago.

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA4500 Won't Connect Through PPPoE

Nov 17, 2012

I've been using my EA4500 since it's original launch date as a PPPoE router through another router/modem which is the Netgear DG834G V4 set to Modem Only mode which was working fine for a long time!A month ago, a friend wanted to borrow the Netgear Router and after he gave it back I reset it like I always do and entered my settings in router mode(i.e. username and password) to check if I havewe working Internet connection and that the router is working properly and it was working properly like it was before I lent it. Now comes the problem, if I keep using the Netgear router as the PPPoE handler and make the EA4500 work as "Automatic Configuration DHCP" it works flawlessly but if I set the Netgear router to modem mode and make the EA4500 handle the PPPoE connection, the report in the troubleshooting tab keeps on saying "Connecting" endlessly!
Note: I've replicatedthe settings that I used on both router before and after lending it to my friend so there's no difference in settings!

Linksys Wireless Router :: Cannot Connect Oppo BDP-95 To Cisco EA4500

Dec 23, 2012

I have problem connecting my Oppo blu-ray player (BDP-95) to the CISCO EA4500 router.I had a buffalo router before and everything was fine.I bought the EA4500 a few months ago.  All was fine when I set up the Wi-Fi connection to all my existing devices, including, notebook, iPad, iPhone, TV, etc.  But the only exception is my Oppo blu-ray player.  The oppo player can detect the SSID of EA4500, after entering the security password, it just shows "Connection Failed!"
However, my Oppo player can connect to other wireless access point (e.g. the wi-fi sharing from my Android Phone.)I have tested almost everything in the past few months....including, upgrade firmware, factory reset the router, turn off all the security setting in my router.  But none of them works.Frankly speaking, I am quite familar with the setup of such wireless stuffs.  ( I had almost 10 wireless at home and every device was setup without any problem)

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA4500 Cisco Connect Cloud

Jul 22, 2012

Keep having trouble with login onto my router (EA4500)Every now and then it will work but more often than not when I try to access it using either myrouter.local or, I keep getting an unexpected error message in the middle of the screen and it will go no further.  Or I get no error and just a blue background with no icons or anything.
I tried going back in the firmware to what it was when I bought the device which is non-cloud (Ver., but when I did that, I was logging into the router perfectly but had no internet access at all even tho all the gateway and dns details were present on the status page for the internet.
I've put it back to the cloud firmware (Ver. and i'm back to these login problems again so I tried as per request with a cisco advisor in live chat to totally reset the router using the reset button at the back.  Oh that caused problems getting things back online as every time I tried to access the interface I got a 502 error.  I managed to get back online using the cisco disc that came with the router but now I'm back to square 1 with these access problems to the router.
I just can't see what is wrong here, it was fine prior to it updating itself to the cloud software, but it has been problem galore ever since.I am running Ubuntu Linux and have tried both firefox and chrome browsers which doesn't seem to matter.I have tried my sons laptop running vista which gets the same problem.I have tried disconnecting everything else on my network apart from my PC (the linux one) which is ethernet cabled direct to the router. The cloud app for my HTC does work but has very limited settings and runs extremely slow.
Might be worth mentioning that this morning when I tried accessing from google chrome, in the error box also popped up the following message, 'error_get_networks', this is the first time I saw this message so don't know if its of any relevance.  I do have set in the settings that my DHCP server starts at and most of the computers in my house have a static IP address so I don't believe anything is clashing to cause any errors.

The screen appears to "load", but it does not connect.I have tried returning to default settings and reconfiguring and reupdating firmware. I have tried turning Guest Access on and off, as well as resetting the password. The only that works is rebooting the router. This is obviously not practical, especially for a contract client.

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA4500 USB Printer Without Cisco Cloud Connect

Oct 20, 2012

I recently purchased a EA4500 for my home network. After hours of searching, I couldn't find any evidence to how I can install a USB printer without the obvious Cisco Cloud Connect. I don't need any software or account to access my router over the net nor any of the features CCC provides (at least as of yet). I'm quite comfortable with using the web interface and easily managed to adjust the router for everything I need except the printer part. I certainly have things to print so I have to connect my printer to the router as it is clearly mentioned on its box that I can access my printer through it. As a last resort I tried to install the software on the CD that came with it to get a link for some "Cisco VUSB" software which I think is the solution but it keeps saying my modem is not connected to the net. It clearly isn't because I don't have an internet connection at home. What I have is a 3G connection which I use for communicating and downloads I need. So why do I need an internet connection on the router for anything and how do I install my printer?

Cisco WAN :: 867 Half-bridged Mode?

Apr 18, 2011

I'm a Cisco newbie and I'm in the following situation:
1>The router (867) must connect to my ISP in 1483 bridged (2684 bridged) mode, LLC, VPI/VCI 0/35
2>WAN IP will be assigned by ISP (DHCP)
3>No username and password required to establish the connection
4>MAC-Cloning is advised, not required
5>Firewall behind 867, WAN IP should be assigned to WAN interface firewall, connection established by 867
6>867 router will be used as a switch, so no NAT required. NAT will be setup on the firewall
7>Connection type: Analog (annex A)
The required setup can be fixed by configuring the 867 in half-bridged mode, but I don't no how and I don't know exactly how to config the 867 in bridged mode.
First, it's even hard to setup a good bridged config.
